I had to restart the game Thursday night after playing all day and found it hadnt been saving all day so I lost an entire day of progress. (I may have sobbed ngl.) Of course it saved then to prevent any potential cloud saves from being of use but ah well. It was very helpful to decompress with your videos and streams. Especially having to redo everything. @Lilitha11 To each their own. Many players simply want to enjoy and explore the new biomes now... not later. There's still SOOOO much to do. The game doesn't end just because you unlock a few biomes. 😅
@@Probably_Senpai I am not hating, people should have fun doing what they enjoy, even if that means turning the game into points factory hehe. People did that with pumpkin farms too, where they built like 50x50 rows of pumpkins. Or with the last DLC having all the character's in their valley being time benders. There are definitely those people and if they enjoy it, they should go for it. Though I do think come February, they will be wondering where all the content went.
@@Lilitha11 Respectfully, I'll have to disagree with you about the "Febraury" comment. 😊 I've been playing this game since the beginning of early access, and completing your duties/tasks in no way, shape, or form limits the content available in the game. The primary reason I play DDLV is to decorate and explore my creativity. Therfore, I like to access all of the new biomes and decor items quickly. For me (and many others) that's when the real fun starts! Another thing players should consider is that not everyone is privileged with a ton of time to pour into the game. Some players may only have an hour or two to play each week due to work and family demands. These players don't want it to take 3 months just to unlock the new biomes. I hear from a ton of players who struggle to complete starpaths and expansions because they simply don't have the time... Now, if you have the time to "take things slow" that's great. Everyone should play the game they want to play... but assuming everyone who speeds through their tasks and duties will regret it is quite frankly a bit silly. 😅
@@365ral There's no way to tell by looks alone. The best way to know is to remove ALL inkies when you open a new biome. That way, when more inkies show up, you KNOW they're new!
Because the snippets can move so fast if you do the hold spin it will slow them down to catch thence without having to chase them. I actually hold the hold button then release it when I get close and it works perfectly
I spent so much time trying to work on the core duties until I realized doing the infinite ones was sooo much more efficient. Completed the storyline yesterday afternoon
@franzis9087 Onyx can be a pain. If you spend a lot of time mining, you can stockpile a bit. The alternative would be to get some Onyx from a friend or a discord community.
You don't need that many auto cookers. I just put in one of each item needed (Fruit, spice, fish, veg, seafood) and moosh em all together into one meal. It counts for all of the cooking tasks and you use less coal this way.
Oh no! Do the slow traps help? Maybe if they're slowed down, you won't get dizzy or motion sick as much? 😔 Either way, sorry to hear that. I hope you're enjoying other aspects of the expansion!
@stellam4392 I found white snippets in my Plaza. They seem to be inconsistent, though. Sometimes they'll appear in the valley and sometimes they won't. It's rather strange, to be honest!
This guide is going to be helpful after noticing we get less Storybook Magic for completing some tasks. Buying seeds is one I noticed we get less Storybook Magic. Storybook Vale you get 750 currency for buying 645 Seeds. Valley and Eternity Isle you get 1,150 currency for buying 645 seeds. Is that to slow us down?
There's a lag in the Xbox version that makes catching snippets difficult - you aim for one, game stops for 2 seconds, then when you unfreeze the snippet is gone 😭
I’m having a problem with my inkies duties. I haven’t unlocked any new parts since I think yesterday but the new inkies that popped up this morning are not counting towards my duty… any suggestions?
Since the Tiana update there has been lag on my Xbox one. This makes it difficult to catch snippets. I kept the machine to slow down the snippets and move it from biome to biome and that helps a bit. Still not ideal.

That's tough! It's definitely going to make this process take a bit longer but don't let that discourage you! If you turn off the cooking animation you can at least prep the meals relatively quickly without the machines. Gardening on the other hand... will be a bit of a headache for sure!
literally my ONLY complaint about the vale so far is how incredibly difficult they made gathering this magic. we shouldn't _need_ gudies like this (I'm *not* saying your guide isn't helpful or a welcome sight, it really is! thank you!) just to get moving without being stuck grinding for ages.. why the magic is locked to tasks and duties is beyond me, such a redicilous and bad choice imo.
The storybook magic method really ain’t all that fast though when you have to give to give olives-Brussel Sprouts time to Regrow on trees and when you can only feed animal companions in the vale like once a day with the animals being on a certain schedule for when they are out and when they aren’t out. Plus certain ones take multiple feedings minus like 1 of the owls who you can get on the first feeding also sometimes you only get 50 storybook which isn’t nearly enough some of the duties for duties aren’t exactly quick and fast
This is actually soo incredibly annoying. You should at least get storybook magic from collecting snippets! Not everyone has time to run around doing all these duties 💔

Thank you for these tips! I'm struggling on the Magic since we can't manually farm it like we could do for Mist. I have a tiny area set up next to my house (small garden, forage-able trees, cooking station, and a couple chests for quick drop) but it's just for getting by during basic early gameplay and is not equipped for farming Magic! I was going to wait until decorating to set up a bigger crop garden, but a preliminary worksite makes so much sense!! I'm SOOO excited to work on this next. 🪄✨
Yes! I'm not a big fan of how the work sites look, but the upside is that you don't have to keep them for long! 😁 As far as decorating us concerned, you know it's my favorite feature! The way I see it, the sooner I can get things unlocked, get my tasks complete, and stock up resources, the sooner I can start decorating the vale!

How can you tell if an inkie has "arrived recently?" They're not registering in the "remove 3 inkies," even when unlock a new area.
@@365ral There's no way to tell by looks alone. The best way to know is to remove ALL inkies when you open a new biome. That way, when more inkies show up, you KNOW they're new!

Do you have a tip to stock up Onyx fast? I would like to use a potion for mining more often, but I‘m getting short on Onyx..

What does it mean to be time locked?
A duty being "time-locked" means it cannot be completed until the next day.
