I just bought these. I have a 13 month old who doesn't care much about food other than goldfish lol. He literally survives off of almond milk and goldfish. How do I get him to eat?!
I’m a firm believer in “there is no SAFE zone in pregnancy” if you wanna tell people when you’re 4 weeks, do it. If you want to wait, wait. If you go through a miscarriage during any weeks, you will want the people you love to be there for you. And if you don’t you’ll want the people you love to celebrate with you!
I find that I’m the same. I tell people as soon as I find out; I don’t care how early it is. Waiting to tell people doesn’t make much sense to me. Sooo if I lost this baby then no one would know why I was suddenly so depressed and miserable? Sure, I could tell them after the fact, but then they didn’t get to celebrate the good news with me when it was still good news. And that seems so sad. They only get the bad news. Oh I was pregnant but now I’m not. To each their own but I’m such an open book I could never keep it a secret.
I feel the same. I’ve had two losses, one of which was a ruptured ectopic. My policy is I only tell people who I know will be supportive. After the ectopic pregnancy, I was just a complete mess, so I told everyone, even on Facebook, because I wanted to be the one to explain the whole weird story myself and wanted to minix the amount of “when are you having another?” Questions since my son was almost 2.
I love you! I stumbled onto your site searching for Montessori beds and then just started reading your blog. It’s makes me so happy to find mom’s out there sharing incredibly helpful information without judgement or absolutes. Thank you!!! ❤
This came at the perfect time. I'm 7 weeks pregnant and have a toddler and it's been a BALANCE of trying to be the fun momma who plays on the floor while also trying not to vomit everywhere.
I can relate to a lot of the things you mentioned - I'm 18 weeks pregnant and my son spent so much time watching TV during the first trimester while I just passed out next to him, but I had also decided to just go with it and let it go.
Give yourself grace if you are doing your best. I struggled with not having energy for things that were in my control (not eating well) Self discipline in that area was so beneficial for me and my family
I am now 24 weeks with my second, and my Lord did I feel guilty every single day for ''letting my toddler down'' during the first trimester. It's been alot better since I regained energy in the second trimester and stopped being sick several times a day, every day. But now it's starting to leave my body again and I will apply this lesson as I approach the thrid trimester
Starting my second trimester and currently have an 18 month old 😊 these videos are always the best 👌 it's like positivity training for my inner voice! Thank you @heyshayla ❤
Hey from the UK, soo happy for you and excited to here your expecting baby number 3 ... I'll let u know now so you can prepare your definitely having a boy I'd eat my hat if your not ... my first pregnancy sick nausea all day long and even at night heart burn all the time and tired all the time .. second time energetic not nauseous and jut felt different not obvious different but definitely different . It's fun with a boy totally different ball game xx
I am pregnant with my 2nd (due in a month) and felt a lot more miserable than my 1st pregnancy which was also not a walk in the park. It seems I only get a month of feeling OKish ~2nd trimester, before and after it is bad. Constant whole-day nausea for 18-20 weeks, then some relief followed by a nightmare of heartburn and acid reflux which makes me nauseous once again. I did let my first watch a bunch of screen time because I was just happy to be able to exist sitting on the sofa without constantly throwing up. On my better days, I would play more with her and take her out of the house. Makes me feel somewhat guilty but as you always say "It is just a season of life". I am sure I will still rely on the screen in my baby's first few months when I am completely alone with them, but I want to get more active when summer comes and I should be healed from birth, the baby should be more alert and the weather should be a lot nicer. On another note, we did disclose my pregnancies early on as I could just not hide my dying under the pretense of food poisoning that lasts ~3 months. Two reasons for this. One: I live with my partner's family and they would notice (we would have preferred to wait till 12 weeks, but my sickness got in the way, and if we told them, then I wanted to tell my side of the family as well). Two: I work with people who have disabilities and possibly challenging (even violent) behavior, so I wanted my condition to be known at my workplace for safeguarding (it meant they wouldn't put me to support those who were more likely to be a danger towards me). It also meant they understood why I ran out to the supported living home garden at meal times to avoid throwing up from the smell of cooking food.
I’m 27 weeks with my second, and we’ve already talked about maybe having a third. I find myself still consistently napping for a while when my daughter is napping, which scares me if I were to have a third. Easily for an hour and a half. My daughter is so good at chilling in the crib after she wakes up though, sometimes I let her chill for 30 minutes, so I’m hoping that if we decided to have a third, that she would be down for an hour of quiet time in her room so I could nap. Definitely trying it when she’s over napping regardless. She’s newly 2 and still naps for 2 hours, luckily.
I say nausea the same way! Ha. Took me until this pregnancy to get better with saying it. I’m crawling out of the first trimester hole. It’s something. I was sooooo sick the first time through the second trimester and I had a boy. We are having a girl this time and and I’ve been way less sick- who knows with that stuff!
15 weeks with my second and finally feeling energy. Even though I now have every illness imaginable. Still feel amazing compared to the first trimester 😅
Lemon water helped me along with all of the things you said! I lived with those pressure bands on. I want to try more magnesium next time because I haven’t tried that. Hoping it makes all the difference. 😂 Probably jumping into baby #3 here soon!
Your little rant about feeling like dogpoop and not being able to tell anyone why was hilarious to me. I'm currently 10 weeks pregnant with my third. I have a 2 1/2 year old and a 9 month old and I'm barely holding it together and no one can know why lol Why are we like this?
I’m only 9 weeks and my kid has had (and passed me) both a nasty cold and a stomach virus so far in this pregnancy 😵💫 I don’t even know what’s what anymore 😅
There is a magnesium supplement that also contains B vitamins and folate that I have been taking for years, as well as when I was pregnant with my child. I feel like it helped a lot. It’s called MagSRT. Other magnesium supplements gave me tummy issues.
My youngest son is 8 months old now and it's upsetting that my mother-in-law said, "Oh well you are telling us kinda early aren't yah?" LIKE WHAT I am 6 weeks and I am telling my parents so I thought you would want to know... wtf..... I was so pissed at her for like over half the pregnancy. It was like she didn't want to know until I had the baby...... okay whatever. She was like this with my daughter too and told my husband I would probably lose her since I lost my first daughter to still birth. I won't be telling her about the next baby until we are in the 3rd trimester. >.>
At what point do you all choose to tell your first born that you’re pregnant with another baby? We wanted to wait till we find out the gender to tell her so she doesn’t get disappointed if she wants it to be a …. But it’s the other. But it’s taking so long to get to 20 weeks…
I can’t remember, mine was so little she didn’t understand much. But with this one the oldest gets it more so we kept asking, what if we had another baby?! We can’t choose, “we get what we get and we don’t get to choose” then I’d incorporate a little brother or sister into stories at bed time and just switch them out 🤷♀️
I just gave birth to my second and the second pregnancy was wild 🫣 already a week after delivery i felt 100% beter than the last few months of pregnancy. Like, i dont think i can do pregnancy again with child/ren around 😂 and going to work. No no no no

Sending grace and hugs to all the first trimester moms. You are doing great! These are lovely tips
We just got home with our second and this is the video I needed 9 months ago. 100% relatable and we’re still struggling with screen time.
Congratulations!! Lots of grace mama!! 🫶🫶
Give yourself grace if you are doing your best.
I struggled with not having energy for things that were in my control (not eating well)
Self discipline in that area was so beneficial for me and my family
I can't believe you're pregnant again omg congrats!!! I had my first the same month as your second and don't feel ready for pregnancy again lol

Pregnancy is rough! Take care

“Exuberant amount of screen time”. I think you mean exorbitant. Still love ya though. 😂
I appreciate you

Can’t have pepper mint in first trimester. Or camomile. Or tea tree. They are hormone disrupters.
I love you girl💪👍
