im pretty sure its finally convenient to comment, i’ve recently gotten the role as audrey II, and wino in this song, im so happy and proud that im apart of this outstanding production. ❤️❤️❤️
So my school has a Glee club and we are doing this musical and Im so happy!!! I'm Audrey's understudy!!! I know being an understudy isn't the best thing but I love Audrey's part so!
I’m doing it too and I’m Crystal . I have to do that high part in the beginning. I’m managing but its taking a lot of work! I love my part and I wanted to be a girl
Sabrina Deitrick - congratulations! I just watched my niece perform as Audrey these past two nights in her high school's production, so I can relate to what you have done. I'm sure you did well and were as sweet as she's been. Thanks for sharing news of your participation with us. I'd never seen "Little Shop --" before last night and I've likely listened to "Skid Row " 20 times since. That song sets the tone for me and I'm sure you all nailed it!
This one vs. ... ♬ When you're alone, when life is making you lonely, you can always go downtown! When you've got worries, all the noise and the hurry seems to help, I know, downtown! ♬
Auditions for the musical are after thanksgiving break and i can't wait to audition for audrey, i hope i can at least get ensemble! fingers crossed,, 😆😣
This is 1 of my favorite songs.. don't get me wrong, whoever is singing this Part of the Old lady Crystal, she have a really good voice. but she don't seem to know how to encapsulate the desparity of the song with her voice. You could hear the desparity in the voice and song when the Old lady Crystal sang it in the movie. it seems the person who's singing is more focused on her vocals than trying to balance the essence of their song with their voice. The original captured it perfect. There was more of a lamentation to her singing and you felt the misery and despair of living in skid row when she was singing. It was a very powerful introduction to the song. That being said, i really appreciate the video and lyrics as well as the singers.
The alarm part is my solo and the Little shop of horrors play is on 4/28/18 and 4/29/18!!!!! I’m dying because I feel like everyone is gonna judge me if I mess up!!!!!! I’m trying to practice!!!!! HELP AND LIKE IM NOT LYING!!! I go to a private school!!! Plz pray lol sry hellppppppp
Laura Diego Álvarez the first play day I did good but the second time the whole time I did it was either voice cracking or off key!!! 😂😂😂. But I did really bad bc a lot of ppl were there that night!!!
Gaby Jensen Just practice more and 4get all the people that judge, let them gwt up there and sing in front of so many people. Its nerves racking but just breath . Keep doing ur best. Best wishes
I love this song but I'm also here practicing this song for the music we are doing which is little shop of horrors......this is going to be fun it is a high school pradution tho so not too high expectations for it but as long as it's fun. Also my voice is like in the middle so I can go high and low so I can be all of them in this song except for the realy low one he only has a few lines but other than that.......okay I'm just ranting now
I wonder if rich, upper class, middle class, upper middle class, people on Facebook and Tumblr have ever heard this song before. It would be hilarious if they did, especially that they complain about everything. I am middle class but I do know one thing; the lower class, poor, dysfunctional, working class, people are not on Facebook or Tumblr complaining; they have real issues, they are trying to survivie and most likely they are working.
Those who complain are those with the energy to do so. I have a friend to works 3 jobs and runs a small business on the side, all to pay alimony, child support, and put some food on his own table. He doesn't complain because he doesn't have the time. There is always someone out there who has it worse. :/
Sophie Hanley - it depends on how you choose to listen to it. My niece played Audrey in her high school's production this weekend. Having read the director's remarks on the back of the Playbill - talking about the issues addressed in the musical such as poverty, bullying, abuse, and broken dreams - I went home and found this video to examine the lyrics. It's one of the saddest songs I've ever heard. So, if you want to keep hearing it as a lightweight show tune, that's OK. But Howard Ashman wrote a lot more into it....
This song hits so hard for those of us that have grown up in poor shitty towns and neighborhoods. I pray that I’ll get out of skid row too.
Same
This is my favourite SONG
Same.
Same
Mine is "Some Fun Now"
I like the tune and what they sung, but I think this song is desperate...
Mine too

So my school has a Glee club and we are doing this musical and Im so happy!!! I'm Audrey's understudy!!! I know being an understudy isn't the best thing but I love Audrey's part so!
I’m an understudy for a main part in a different performance, but it’s awkward when you think; ‘I really want them to be ill!’

is this version different then the movie version?
Lorelai MacIntosh ahhhh it’s not a movie oringinally it’s a musical
@@niamh955 There's a movie from 1960, and then they made the musical in like 1983 and then the movie musical in 1986 and the revival in 2003.
I’m portraying Seymour 🙈😅
ITS Cool because it's my performance at Havelock Academy

you understand this is a comedy song right
nightmastercool97 97 I find that offensive

Sophie Hanley - this song helped me see that most of the people on this planet live on Skid Row. However, there is a Way out....
