- G'day everyone, we are back at our favourite store Costco in Moorabbin, VIC Australia. We checked out some of the fruit and vegetable prices, also the vitamin specials and tried a couple of samples.
Thanks so much for watching. Make sure to like and subscribe as it really helps out the channel a lot.
It was extra fun to watch this today since we were there at the same time. I actually spotted myself and my husband on the video!!! 😂❤
How about a time stamp? 😜
Very informative video dear, thanks a lot from Panjab !😍
Costco has a pricing policy of limiting markups on branded products to a maximum of 14% above cost and up to 15% on Costco brands. That is why they are often but not always the lowest price, especially for name brands that they carry. Food items however like fuits and vegetables are often used as loss leaders (sold below cost) by competing stores and chains. Many chains ( but not Costco) have much higher markups on many other items and make their profit on those while using loss making veggie prices to get you into the store. Costco makes most of its profits from the annual memberships.
Costco has donation agreements with charity food banks and so very very little fresh food goes to waste.
Also when you see name brand items on special ( marked down price) the manufacturer is supporting the lower price. When you see Costco items marked down more than 15% off, Costco is taking a loss. This usually happens when there is an upcoming change to the product, like a changed packaging, or a new supplier.
How do I know all this ( am I making it up?) Relative was a member of management at a Costco location. 🙂
So they give it away to charity at a loss instead of selling it cheaper to customers
They get a tax break , as do all businesses and people, for donating to charity. Thus in addition to feeding needy, they are not losing money.
@@GregB-f1x well as long as they're not losing money....
Thanks for the info, very interesting 👍
I went to Costco in between the Christmas and New Year week!! Got the 2.5 kg's of tomatoes!! They were $11.99 in our store in Adelaide!! Loved it!! Will be buying tomatoes like that from now on!! Cheers!!
The gourmet salad mix is great and the bag its in seems to make it keep really well.
ours lasted over 2 weeks
Cotton Candy grapes are next level... highly recommend 👍. Great vid, thanks 👍👍
I love Costco shopping 🛍 it best..lm first time watching you guys ❤
Thank you for the video. The eggs seemed very cheap! Costco is confirming its commitment to equity and diversity in the USA against considerable pressure to reject it. So for me, it is a company worth supporting.
Thank you for specifying the product origins. I always check if they are product of Australia b4 buying ❤❤
Fruit and veg definitely not cheap.
Like any store you've got to do some research on prices first 👍 Like I said in the video, I don't buy my fruit and vegetables there
You did well staying in the cool room showing fruit, vege.
The san pellagrino blood orange is delicious. Im glad you ladies liked it, its quite refreshing.
Always love seeing the prices on the fruit and veg and especially the meat.
Question: Do they have much in the way of organic stuff? Things like meat, vege and general basic staples? Stuff like rice, flour, sugar and bread or baking stuff? Thanks for posting 👍
Those black finger grapes are delicious.
The pork mince is 10% as well.
I thought Costco was supposed to be cheap?
I have never understood why they are so dear on the fruit & veg
Vegetable are double Bay prices
I agree. Seems better value aldi
The whole things seems silly to me really even the cheaper meats are only worth it if you buy in bulk it's never grabbed me really but I watch her videos for a bit of support and I keep an eye out if there's anything that stands out to me but so far nothing really even with the discounts they ask for a yearly membership.... To make it worth while you gotta shop there more regularly
Yes they are definitely not cheap
I go halves with mum with the salad , throw the baby spinach in everything and the salad mixes -a salad a day for hubby and myself -def value for money
You can’t beat Kmart for cheaper clothes.
Great video i ever seen on Costco,u explain everything in detail.
How much is the membership now?
Thanks for watching. A Costco membership is $65 per year.
Wow the mince was packed on the 8th and best before the 9th
I believe Costco doesn't use any preservatives in their mince. I just pack it up in smaller packs and freeze it when I get home 👍
@ that’s sooooo good!
Love❤your video Shame didn’t know lasagne on sale Fruit looks very nice and juicy I always get their washed potatoes always fresh and last well Aldi fruit does not last well
Thank you for your website as a person with a physical disability, who only joined a Costco in QLD a few months ago, I know look forward to watching your site each week.
My adult daughter and I have only been in together once and I wondered what the wording “ Instant rebate meant? “ I said “ No “ “ I bet it means we have to send a docket into the manufacturer , just like white goods discounts.”
I am guessing now after watching your video and you commenting on the lasagna it equals the same as sale price?
Am I correct?
Thank you
Hi, thanks for watching. Yes, the rebate is the discount on that item at that time. Then you pay the sale price at check out 👍😊
👍👍👍
We always get those drinks my partners italian there his favorite only place really has them on special . Definitely would like to try those finger grapes never seen them before
The lasagnas weren’t on special at my store, but we got some chicken teriyaki and the San Pellegrino to try
I wonder how much of that fresh produce and baked goods goes to waste?
someone else with inside knowledge into the store said it gets donated. I'd like to hope so 😊
Gday thanks again from wisemans ferry
Those Hello Panda Japanese sweets ( next to the carmans bars) are so good it's like a crispy biscuit coating with melted chocolate on the inside.. Do you know how much they are please?
at 16:16 you see the sign for them above - they are $12.99
Support your local farmers and buy fruit and veggies from the markets… the supermarkets are a rip off.
I'd like to hope that because of their higher prices they might be paying farmers more. I'd like to hope so. Having grown up on my family's strawberry farm I always like to support farmers 😊
Loved the video... Most what I like is the drink cans you bought... Next time to Costco.. sure get that .. Thank you so much for the tour... Take care stay safe.
Not that much different to Coles or Woolworths if any at all.
Thats expensive for mangoes
Can you show me the menu platters please ?
Sorry, what do you mean by menu platters?

I think Costco is a ripoff.
