You did a beautiful job with your cardinal. It is the state bird of many states in the eastern U.S. , including Ohio where I live. It is especially beautiful in the winter as it doesn’t migrate. The female cardinal is more brown.
Your lilac card was also beautiful! The lilacs in my garden are blooming beautifully this year & smell divine! I really liked the way you made the card! They both turned out so beautifully!

These two penguins make me smile! Love the snowball fight scene, snow much fun! Pun intended! Some paper does indeed bleed more than others, you can find a different paper to color on or use a light hand around the lines of the image. You will find something that works better for you I'm sure Chrissie, but you made do with this paper and your card is adorable! I'm all for using what you got. Hugs, Brenda

Morning Christine Love these little penguins. Stamping Up have blender markers and they can bleed as well depending on the paper. If you use a paper that has a little simmer or gloss it works better. Their basic white works well as well. Maybe try different paper types? I love all these little animal cards you have been making. ❤❤❤

such fun!
for the bleeding out of the lines, i put down the color leaving a small gap between the line and the marker. this gives it a chance to bleed if it wants to. if it doesn't bleed then i just go back and add a bit more color to fill in the white gap.
i also have a scrap paper underneath so it can bleed through if it wants to instead of going outside the lines.
also to get a good blend i work in small areas at a time so the ink doesn't have too much time to dry before i put on another color. for example, one petal at a time on a flower.
i am by all means no expert at color blending with alcohol markers. i have been using them for years and still feel like a beginner sometimes! lol

Such a cute card Chris - Love the tip about the clear blender- thank you - am a beginner really with alcohol inks - watercolour was my main medium of choice, bit am loving the beautiful colours available. Tried to order some markers using your link - but sadly they don't recognise my island home! Have emailed them to ask them to add us to their list of countries - keep your fingers crossed for me please :) - kind regards, Jennie x

I'm a complete novice but several years ago I used to watch alcohol pen tutorials. From memory they said to put copy paper underneath which helps to get a smooth blend and especially when using the blender to push through mistakes. Please dont think I am teaching my grandma to suck eggs, not least because I'm old enough to be your granny 😂😂😂
You'd have to be ancient to be my granny... I'll be 80 next year!🤣🤣🤣🤣
