I did forget to mention how forgiving and loving this plant is. It can tolerate some neglect and doesn't seem to mind if it is a little over or under watered. It still loves you no matter what. Let me know if you've had or currently have this plant and what your thoughts are on it.

I just got this plant. I saw a large one in person recently and fell in love with the shape of the leaves, structure of the plant, and absolutely striking color in person! It is a plant that I find beyond beautiful😍

Roy here in Zone 10B - Phoenix, Arizona. I had a philodendron test garden in the shade under a banana tree. We had a colder winter although it hardly gets to freezing briefly but this year with was a tad colder with a lot of rain. Lots of my philodendrons died but to my surprise this plant was not phased at all. Gets real hot her like 115 or around and no problem. So beautiful even though it looks fragile.

Hi I just want to say how much I love your channel and I think you are so sweet and your personality is so positive and fun! I have one of these but not as big as yours.. but it is one of my favorites for life. Knowing these are extinct in the wild and makes we want to make sure that this plant stays alive and maybe some day it can be introduced back into its natural habitat. Thank you for all you do! xoxoNikki from Canada

You have a beautiful large plant. I just recently got me a silver sword & it was in the clearance section at my local nursery. One thing I didn't realize is how huge it will get. Mine is only a foot tall... for now 😁. I love how you used a tomato cage for support. I have one of those 6foot tall metal storage shelves I may just let this plant go wild up the side 😍

Yes this really is a special and uniquely coloured plant (btw you look amazing with those eyeshadow colours ) in the beautiful shades of the plant leaves… grey green and sage green are two of my favourite colours, my internal walls are this colour ;so when I saw Silver Swords’s plant leaves I was immediately besotted. Just so tragic it is extinct in the wild.

If it is not accessible in your local area you can find them on online plant shops/nursery, Etsy and EBay...etc... I have some rooted potted and planted cuttings but they are only available through plant trade. I am not selling at this time.

So sad and unbelievable this plant is no longer wild, I think they look best with few but
large as possible leaves on long stalks on a single stem and light from side so leaves are vertical and
with weird "flowers" in spring, grows best if all aerial roots are allowed to develop, sadly with moss pole stem gets too long
eventually, experimenting with compost pots that can be slid on pole so bottom of stem can be cut off to reduce height
and plant grown endlessly, grows very well horizontally with stem held down to rest on compost,
wondering if this would cross-breed with my P. Burle-marx that looks closely related - a "green sword" would look amazing!
