I still have a modded version of X-Wing Alliance on my gaming pc. The game is both difficult and wonderful all at the same time. They sure don’t make Star Wars games like they used to. Although Fallen Order was good, the mid-90s to the early 2000s were the glory days of Star Wars gaming. So many classics.
A big problem with X-wing Vs Tie Fighter is it was basically an online only game meant to showcase MSN Gaming zone. I played on there countless hours as a kid. DF 2 Jedi Knight, Mechwarrior 3 and 4. It was all new and most people didn't even know about it.
I missed out on the early flight games, but played the hell out of both Rogue Leader and Star Wars Galaxies Jump to Lightspeed. My childhood.

Rogue Leader is still my fav space combat game. got it with my Gamecube and tried to get all the medals.
