Ok I am tired of replying to all Alif and Aangan comments so I am just going to leave this comment here and pin it. As much as we loved Alif and Aangan and as brilliant, in fact, as much of masterpieces as they were, truth is both these dramas did not get high ratings nor views close to the views some of the most awful dramas are getting these days. Aangan case was different of course but even it didn't get high ratings. Zara simply said if Alif and Aangan being masterpieces couldn't be successful, Zebaish isn't even a masterpiece so it's understandable why people aren't liking it. Why are you guys acting so surprised? When Alif was on air and every week we used to lament it isn't getting any ratings where were all of you? Probably busy watching MPTH, I guess
Edit: Another unfair assertion that low ratings only concern channel and their "business". Wrong! Ratings are calculated in terms of audience viewership. It is a fact that only a very small percentage of the audience watched Alif and Aangan. That doesn't mean we don't consider them to be good, it essentially means a vast majority of the audience didn't find these dramas interesting enough to watch. Of course those who did watch loved them but please don't brush aside low ratings and less views saying "business" of a drama doesn't concern you. Actually it should because here "business" of the drama highlights audience preference and viewership pattern which in turn affect what content you will get to watch in the future

As far as Alif goes I think yes maybe it was a little overshadowed by Mere Paas Tum Ho at the moment it was airing but I think it has proven to be timeless. Alif is a masterpiece and very well loved by the audience. Just because it didn't get as many views as it's contemporary I don't think it wasn't appreciated by the audience. Such a soul stirring and thought provoking drama can not be called a failure. At least I don't think so.

When large masses like will understand that we no longer want to see all the usual rona dhona and bechari they will have an urge to find something different from our industry then they will find projects like ALIF AND ZINDAGI GULZAR HAI.

Meray paas tum hu was definitely a hype considering there was the very first time in more dramatic and open way showed the infidelity of main lead female character and main lead male was all so innocent and loyal but still it's impact is loud and short lived ,on the other hand Alif is a material piece and be Long lived in people's memories ,besides not every one has aesthetic sense of digging deep and like meaning ful ,spirtual stuff .

Nah. The time Alif came out there was another drama " meray pas tum ho " that was on air. And it was being on aired on ary digital. And alif was on aired on geo TV. Meray pas tum ho was a pathetic play. All about a woman who was cheating on her husband and on the other hand there was alif that was about spiritual love and a person's way to Allah. But meray pas tum ho was liked a lot by the audience and was rewarded with great trps, but on the other hand Alif didn't receive such an overwhelming response as that of meray pas tum ho because both the dramas were broadcast on the same day at the time. That's exactly what she has addressed. A dramatic play like a Meray pas tum ho was more liked by the audience as compared to a masterpiece like alif.

Odd that she blames the dynamic between everyone. In my opinion it was essentially the extremely poor writing, character development and incompetent direction. She was genuine in this interview throughout. One should really appreciate how she completely understands what was wrong and takes the blame. Nowhere she tried to defend herself. Even though Zebaish was unnecessarily overly criticised, misstalked and hated upon, she holds no grudges, I mean come on we can all agree there have been dramas if not worse but just as poorly executed as Zebaish, and they still were not that much umm for lack of a better word disregarded or trolled. Hassan sir, Kudos to you, for how gracefully you conducted this interview. And love to Zara for handling it just as well. Stay strong , good wishes.
And for the love of God, please all of you use your brains wisely, look clearly and then comment. She never compared or put Alif and Zebaish in the same categories. She clearly said that even though Alif was such a masterpiece and Zebaish is not, it was not taken that well by the audience, it was worth of a lot more ratings. So Zebaish being Zebaish had have to get such low ratings.

@@aleenaahmad5243 MPTH and Alif are poles apart stories. They don't have anything common so comparing them is stupidity. I loved them equally. Alif is spiritual journey and MPTH was the hurt men feel. It was written for men and stories of many men but unfortunately feminists jumped in and called it out for portraying women in bad light but it wasn't like that. It's one of those rare dramas in which the it was a man's story.

Aagan was a flop lets be honest and it was certainly not a masterpiece but Alif on the other hand was a masterpiece but Mere Paas Tum Ho took all the limelight. Geo should have changed the drama time slots or day of airing. Alif was just as good or even better than Mere Paas Tum Ho but it did get the trp but not as high as Mere Paas Tum ho. yes! It was a underrated drama though but she shouldn't be justifying zabeish by using Alif. That didn't have flawed writing, bad actors or nepotism.

Also another thing I wanted to point out is that these actors work hard to entertain us and all you guys have to say is she did this bad she did this like never has anyone ever said thank you to our actors for having something for us to watch on tv and for entertaining us during quarantine and all of our lives even if it was a flop it is something someone tried out to see how the world would react towards it
There should be a day on earth called celebrity day or something to thank all the actors and actresses also singers and more for entertaining us

Despite of the fact that she faced the criticism bravely and admitted ( to only an extent) that too many cooks have actually spoiled the broth, she put it on the audience that we want to watch damsel in distress rather than career oriented women. Forget about the past, currently we have Sabaat( though the script is not as strong as it could have been) but the theme and direction is taking it to places. Bikhrae moti, prem Gali, ghisi piti mohabbat have no typical rona dhona but are still popular. In zebaish, who is the emancipated woman? Shahana... scaredy-cat from her husband or Noshi who is super confused and only inspired by shahana... If the script would have any spine and direction would have been sane, perhaps people might have different opinions.

Also, speaking of supporting cast, look at the performance of Mohammad Ahmed and Seemi Raheel and the praise that they receive these days. Why ? Because they have done a phenomenal job in Sabaat. I agree with what she said about followers do not matter part though ... similarly, awards don’t matter be it for the lead or supporting cast, what matters is the audience’s response and that shows an artist’s skill. One shouldn’t seek for recognition through awards, instead do well, focus on your strengths and you will achieve excellence InshaAllah.

Ohaa!! Literally one of the best interview so far y'all have done.
Zara was talking so well truly shows how well read she is and looking so good.😍✨
Wish amna was there too, probably she'd have loved to talk with zara too. It would have been great to see their conversation.

Some very good points that highlighted by Zara:👍👍
An actor should have to do acting not modelling or blogging but unfortunately these days actors are doing everything else except acting :(😞🙄
    Accept crticism positively
Actors have to focus on their work not on social media followers
Recognition of support cast/ team is must
Accept your flaws and take it seriously
Actors should have to choose the Role according to their age

I am sorry to say what a disjointed team of extremely talented actors and a terrible director - please admit that Zara- it didn’t work out because it was awful beyond words because of bad writing, bad direction and bad acting - if there was a disconnect why didn’t the writer and the director fix it-

I like the questions Hussan asked. Very good question and interview overall. She’s is a brave girl who decided to come for the interview. Keep it up Zara ,stay strong 👍🏻 but remember that’s your job and don’t work with this director ever who even doesn’t know that night gown should not be wore in the hospital, you’re an educated girl with brain you didn’t even realise that ye kiya kar raha hy and he’s saying ok 👌 to everything!!
You’re a positive girl and that’s shows on your face it’s writing and direction flaws so stay positive and there are many many more success for you in future in sha Allah!! Ameen

Hassan that was a very measured response to all the naysayers with good logical points. You said everything that had to be said.
Ab agar logon ko samajh nahi padh raha toh it’s not your burden to bear. Aap chill karein and trolls ko full ignore karein. We appreciate all the hard work and dedication that you and Amna put in. We trust your judgements, assertions and reviews. You don’t need to keep justifying your every word every single time.
    Good luck and God speed!!
