This was low key the dopest opening performance on The American Music Awards (rip Dick Clark) when MC HAMMER hosted and performed like four times with his massive crew of dancers, singers and musicians! Special Guest Vocals performed by his homeboy BENITO (appears on Oaktown 357's hit "Wild N' Loose") and OG Gospel singer TRAMAINE HAWKINS! *Fun Fact: They passed out tambourines for everybody to shake, just for this performance. You can see The late Vesta Williams in the audience feeling the spirit! God can meet you anywhere, and through virtually anybody. Salute MC Hammer for being the 1st rapper to push faith along with some fresh dance moves.
BABYYYYYY I REMEMBER this performance! This was when award shows were EVERYTHING! When they started cutting Gospel, Country and Opera sections out of award shows - and just focused on the popular music, award shows became horrible! The Gospel sections WERE LIT! Due to a friend posting this clip, so happy I came to watch it. I'm in my own house catching the Holy Ghost! GO HAMMER! THIS IS OUR CULTURE!
