Hey Jade! Just fyi Argentina was never colonized by France or Italy, it has only been a Spanish colony. The European architecture comes from immigration, not colonization. Hope you enjoy my beautiful city!

England tried to conquer Buenos Aires twice (1805/07) but was repelled. Some Argentines would have loved for the English to have succeded due to current state of affairs of the country! :)
La mejor de las suertes! You'd be surprised the conexions between England and Buenos Aires. Tons of history between them, the south of Argentina is full of towns with English names and people's background.

As an Afroindigenous Argentine I can appreciate the different cultures and what they can offer but I will never, under any circumstances, support any way of colonization, domination over a nation nor extractivism in foreign lands. I love Jade and her content, and this is not directed to her whatsoever. But, I wil not stand such a disrespectful statement. I am deeply proud of the history of my country and I am deeply proud of being Argentine. I encourage anyone who wants to visit a foreign country which they know nothing about, and wishes to discuss politics, to read, first, and second to talk with different locals to have different points of views on the matter.
@@nickgermanic8505 Colonization will never be supported by Argentinian people. We suffered a lot during Spanish colonization, we lost our original cultures, languages, everything was lost. We would NEVER say "I wish we were an England colony". NEVER. Our historical experience with England is not even the best. And I'm saying this even when my grandparents are English.

I never said Argentines TODAY would be happy to be a colony, regardless of it being English or Spanish. I sad that 'BACK IN THEY DAY England tried to conquer Argentina and some Argentines, looking at it on hindsight, would have preferred for it to have happened.
Look at where Australia, Canada o New Zealand stands today and look at where Argentina stands today...
Now, the reality is that Argentine is A MODERN COLONY in the sense that it depends on central countries. Imports, US dollar, politics etc.
It isn't just Argentina, most third world countries suffer the same things.

Hello! I'm a Brit and I lived in Argentina for three years; they were some of the best years ever and I met my now husband there! Enjoy the city, be careful going out at night (never go alone, it's dangerous), and soak up the culture and try and learn as much Spanish as you can, it's a gorgeous language! By the way, "bon appetit" in Spanish is: "Buen provecho" :)
You can go outside alone at night but it depends on the zone, it looks like you’re staying in microcentro so YES be careful at night there, try not to look like a tourist and DO NOT use your camera and iphone in the street, cabify and uber are excellent ways to move at night.

Dangerous how? I've been at night in Bs As for years and never happened. It is far saber than most US cities at night.

yo soy de buenos aires cerca de capital, y en 26 años nunca me robaron, fui a cordoba con mi novia y recibimos un robo en banda de como 6 donde nos tiraron al piso y me pegaron un culatazo con el arma en la cabeza, aun asi pienso que buenos aires es mil veces peor pero bueno cordoba me recibio asi
Seamos sinceros no digo ninguna ganzada....hay cosas hermosas en nuestro país como gente 💩y me refiero al interior por los paisajes que podemos encontrar...tenemos desde desiertos a nieve....es increíble
Argentina was one of my favorite semester at Minerva. I unfortunately did not get the luxury of staying in your current dorm. But everything was worth it! Go explore more in your final year of Minerva! You won’t regret that ❤
As a vegan person you’re gonna love BA, there are so many amazing restaurants who serve only plant based food. From the top of my head I can recommend you Mudra and Sacro! There are also vegan coffee shops in Palermo you’re definitely gonna love. Welcome to Argentina from another foreigner living here 🌸
PS: in the vid you wake up sooo early but in a couple weeks you’ll see how most things here don’t open until 10 am or so lol
This, local here and the vegan scene really took off these last years. Highly recommend following local food influencers in Instagram or social media, even if you don't fully grasp spanish

jade here in argentina if you want to find more vegan options, supermarkets are not the best... you should try "dieteticas" or "mercaditos"

Argentina is totally worth it right now. Not only buenos aires, but other places too: Iguazu falls, Mendoza, Bariloche, Ushuaia, Salta/Jujuy, etc.

I studied abroad in Argentina last spring, and next spring I’ll be studying abroad in England! We’re switching places Jade! 💕 Good luck in buying a jacket, I also didn’t estimate how cold it was a tried to find a jacket to buy, but clothing is soooo expensive there (at least it was, who knows with the inflation)

"Que aproveche" is almost never used in Argentina. Else you can simply say "...provecho". Though it is quite informal.

OMG U'RE HERE!!!! enjoyyyy 💘 you should definitely go to the Ateneo Grand Splendid (av. Santa Fe 1860) if you haven't already, it's one of the most beautiful bookstores in the world!!! we have a lot of museums for free or really cheap that are amazing. There's a lot of things to do and places to go in here!!
