- After the sketchbook tour stick around as I show you what is going on in my new sketchbook and also how I’ve rearranged my gouache. I also need help with a question I have at the end of the video. So please comment with your response down below.
💜💜💜 your sketchbook tours are SO fun to watch! Thank you
@@amyb82941 thanks so much. I’m glad you enjoy them.
My heart skipped a beat 🦌
Some really gorgeous pieces in that sketchbook, Sharon (and, yes, I too thought that the one with the two swans & babies came out especially well) - thanks for sharing them with us. I haven't fully got into my stride with gouache as yet but when i do use it, I have a piece of sponge I've cut from a stay-wet pad which I dampen and cover with regular parchment paper from the kitchen. I then squeeze dabs of paint from my tubes and find it stays wet for quite a long time. As you say, this approach leads to some wastage but I'm only using mid-price gouache at present, so that isn't a bother so far. As regards your (should I/shouldn't I?) palette, I'm really not sure - my instinct is to say "Yes, go for it" but I'd always worry about having wells in the lid with the potential for contamination and gooey messes when the palette is closed after a session. Maybe try it with a small(ish) selection of colours first and see how it works. If it doesn't end up with paint running all over the place you can then top it up with the rest of your colours. Hope granddaughter continues to improve - kind regards, Brian.
@@btwilks yes that’s my worry too. Watercolor dries completely or I’d leave it open to dry to prevent that. I may just use one side. Idk.
Great video Sharon! Loved your sketchbook! Hopefully little Madison will be okay and home soon! I’d use the pallet….go for it!
I did and I love it!😊
Love your sketchbook!! Go ahead and use the palette. You can always get another one for watercolor 😊
@@joannrabideau1657 yeah I was thinking about it yesterday and themn thought, wow it takes up a lot of room. I’m still going back and forth. Ha!
You look so cute today, Sharon. Agree about some of these oriental sketchbooks; just had to glue one of mine back together. UGH
Aww thank you so much. What a nice thing to say. Yeah I’m finished with mine so i just put Volume 30 on the side and stuffed it on the shelf with the others!
I’m sorry to hear about Madison! Prayers ascending that she’ll be fine. 🩷🌸
Thank you so much Patty. She did put on a bit of weight so I am hoping they will send her home today but they may keep her another day just to make sure she keeps gaining.
Huh! Cant walk and chew gum. LOL. I've been there done that. You look so cute and full of enegy, Im so glad.
Thank you. Some days are better than others. I was actually in a lot of pain when I recorded that. I guess the camera can really fool people! But I’m glad I looked that way! Ha!
Sharon,
You look wondetful. Like you I battle constant pain. It really wears you down. You looked great on this video. I hope you feel as good as you looked. I also know it can change in a minute too. Take care. Great to see you.

@@kathybrenneman1868 thank you Kathy. I was having a bit of a day that day with neck and upper back pain. But I’ve had worse days so I just plugged in through it. I’m sorry you’re dealing with chronic pain as well. That’s tough. All we can do is keep moving and trying to be as productive as we can, and offer iut up.
Love your sketchbook
Thanks Maria 😊
Not a fan of wells in the lid that will close over. Could cause contamination of paints below.
@@francinetjones1814 yeah I thought about that but used one for watercolor many years ago and didn’t have a problem. These have a scored center to keep them from falling out as well.
