【4K】Walk at Clear Water Bay Second Beach, Hong Kong

Clear Water Bay is a favorite destination among Hong Kong junks-essentially chartered yachts full of day-trippers-Clear Water Bay beach is tucked away on the northeastern coast of Sai Kung. There are actually two beaches occupying the same bay: Clear Water Bay First Beach, and Second Beach. The First Beach tends to be the smaller and less frequented of the two, but both offer clear water, soft sand and convenient amenities.
The fastest way to reach the Clear Water Bay is via taxi, but public transit is also available. Just take the MTR to Diamond Hill station, then hop on Bus No. 91 to Clear Water Bay. Off the main road, you'll follow a tree-lined stairwell down to the coastline. While there, check out both coves if you wish: A rocky pathway connects the two beaches and takes about 15 minutes to walk.
At First beach, you’ll find barbecue pits, showers and changing rooms, as well as rafts for rent. Second beach offers the same facilities, plus a refreshment stand. But we’d pack a lunch, as the menu isn’t terribly exciting.
The water fluctuates between excellent and good most of the year, with the summer months (June through August) being the most polluted, mainly due to storms. Assuming the water is clear on your visit, there is plenty of space to swim around and enjoy the temperate water and gentle waves at both beaches. Don’t worry too much about the junk boats, which anchor beyond the shark’s net. While you might hear the thuds of far-off bass speakers and the occasional shout, the parties shouldn’t interrupt your beach time-most revelers simply swim around the yacht.
