Funnily enough, so many people refer to Depeche Mode as an "80s band", yet funnily enough, their best (in my subjective opinion, to some degree but also by far their best-selling) albums were from the '90s, in the form of "Violator" & "Songs of Faith & Devotion", after which Alan Wilder could no longer put up with Dave Gahan's insane drug use (that left him clinically dead a couple of times), Martin's worsening alcoholism & Fletch's depression, after which DM were never anywhere near as good a band again, sadly... I will ALWAYS wonder just how amazing their output would have been if Alan had remained with the band, because he was the absolute musical production wizard (while Martin writes the lyrics & Dave has that amazing voice & ridiculously cool 'Rock God' stage presence, even now, into his 60s) who turned "Enjoy the Silence' from a slow & depressing acoustic demo track into the electronic, truly dance-worthy masterpiece that it became & worked his magic with a plethora of their other songs as well...yet strangely, his 'Recoil' project that he formed after he left DM was never half as exciting as I had hoped it would be! Rather strange how that can occur all too often, huh?! 'Ultra' (DM's follow-up album after "SOFAD") featured 'hints' of their previous two great albums but methinks that they were simply the remnants of Wilder's genius & thus the quality of their studio albums since then has plummeted rather dramatically...ah well, it was amazing while it lasted & I was fortunate to have turned 17y/o only two weeks before the '90s began!! EDIT: I decided to at least turn my verbose rant into 3 separate paragraphs, rather than the one big 'block' of rambling!!
Zach, this is fabulous! I follow your work because you often work on DM songs and others from the 80's! Since I've been a fan of DM for a long time now, and I know each tune of each song, I have to say that your sounds do not change the song but enhance it's value. Just the right amount. Perfect!
It's unpredictable to choose definitely this song, which is not popular instead of Enjoy the Silence or anothers. But in fact that is unpredictable it is VERY GOOD REMIX AND MY FAVOURITE ❤❤❤
