    100% agree. The double nylon suits are incredible. If you like getting upclose and personal with fish in caves and cracks No more cuts and rips that can ruined a day at sea or trip. Also super easy to maintain Tough as nails. 👏🏻

      Is this different than a regular nylon suit? I'm not sure if I'm missing something.

      @RobAllenSpearfishing  26 днів тому

      @@mikedepo12 Not sure what "regular" is but there are many fabric options. We pay extra for the max stretch fabric on both sides, with the soft one on the inside.

      @@RobAllenSpearfishing I guess I’m unsure on how you’re comparing the open cell to closed in terms of warmth. I don’t think they’re even close ?

    • @RobAllenSpearfishing
      @RobAllenSpearfishing  25 днів тому

      @@mikedepo12 Firstly, warmth is always completely related to how well your suit fits. Secondly, 5mm neoprene foam is still 5mm neoprene foam. It doesn't matter if its open cell or double nylon lined, the thickness doesn't change and therefore neither will it's thermal insulation.

    Can attest to the quality of your lined suits, the most comfortable suit I have owned so far, the Flex tech you guys use really is comparable to open cell when it comes to soft/stretch and flex but really strong too!

    What temps are people diving in with your 5mm version? I'm new to this but have been told by MANY people that open cell is the only way to go. I dove in a 4/3mm regular nylon suit yesterday in 59 degree water and got very cold. Is this "double nylon" something new? And what would you recommend for water temps 55-65 deg with air temp that can be high 30s and low 40s?

    • @DeepBlueSpirit2
      @DeepBlueSpirit2 25 днів тому +2

      Hi brother,
      The main function of a wetsuit is to keep the diver warm. Besides it will protect you from scratches, sun burn, jelly fish and other hazards. A wetsuit can only keep the body temperature at an optimum level if it fits properly and is made of good quality materials and in the right thickness.
      That is why custom-made wetsuits can be the best choice to ensure perfect fit - especially for those of us that do not have the ‘standard’ body measures - you can choose CUSTOM when buying RA wetsuits!
      Depending on the waters you dive in and if the temperature of the water changes drastically throughout the year, more than one neoprene wetsuit might be needed, as each one can keep you warm only in a certain temperature range. And the felt comfort temp for a body varies greatly, but here are some rough guidelines. Best to check with your diving buddies in your area as well.
      7mm: 10-16 C / 50-60 F
      5mm: 16-21 C / 60-70 F
      3mm: 21-27 C / 70-80 F
      Cheers from tropical Panama >

      @@DeepBlueSpirit2 Thank you! The people in my area all say that you have to have open cell, which is why I was asking. In the summer, I'm able to wear a shorty suit. Temps vary quite a bit up here in the northeast. Did not know that you could go custom with RA

    • @DeepBlueSpirit2
      @DeepBlueSpirit2 25 днів тому +1

      @@mikedepo12 As mentioned in the video the main thing is that the wetsuit fits you nicely. I personally feel open cell is like a second skin (if all fits nice) but it is far more fragile, too! A personal preference thing I guess.
      Yes, its super you can customer order from RA!

    • @RobAllenSpearfishing
      @RobAllenSpearfishing  25 днів тому +2

      59 degrees water is cold. For that you should be wearing a 2 piece long john and hooded jacket in 5mm minimum. A 4/3mm sounds like a 1 piece surfing suit? You'd be freezing in that ! Even a 2 piece 3mm would be warmer than than a 1 piece surf suit..We have similar water temps in some parts of South Africa and just about everyone in those regions wear 5mm suits.. Double nylon fabrics are not new, but they have improved significantly in terms of softness and stretch recently.
