Please keep in mind these are just opinions, as a review should be. There are possibly things I fundamentally misunderstand about the game, which leads to certain opinions, but this was just my experience as a player, not a journalist. I’ve put around 50 hours into ZZZ, so I believe some things I bring up are valid, but you are, of course, free to have your own thoughts.
I agree with you but a lot of this comes from people "speedrunning" the game and it does get boring fast.... I've had the same with HSR because I was so excited to play it when I got my PS5 so I played and played but now I'm just so bored of the combat and all of it
@@HatDog21that’s very very normal. I don’t understand ppl who play star rail long term and every day and not get tired cuz you are just doing the same thing over and over and over again.
Zzz is not for everyone, and that is okay. Imo zzz is for the casual players people who have 1 hour of free time to play that's why you can spend your resin(idk what is called) so fast, and maybe that's also why some battles are fast. Daily commissions are like day to day routines like getting your coffee, eat noodles, etc. All those can take about 10 minutes. With a lot of gachas to juggle these days, I'm very happy that I get to look at new characters and play something new without spending hours and hours of repetitive work
@@tjaymanv3328 I agree with your opinion full heartedly. It is a gacha game for the casual audience. I do wish there was more to do after grinding and doing daily missions tho. Most content at end game you either need to use stamina or have 2 built teams (shiyu defense requires me to have 2 teams)
@@timekreepers yea, just like every hoyo game where there's nothing left to do when you're on the endgame. Really hoping that they make more games at the Arcade🙏🙏🙏
Hoyoverse games IMO, respects the users/players time, I also like that it has very low ceiling in terms of player's skill no need to grind that much and I like that since I work 9 to 5 and considering that this is a side game to me.
Even still, do casuals really like that this game is basically 80% click in menus/tvs simulator and 20% actual gameplay? The world, characters and the users interactivity all feel so disjointed in ZZZ. Its a complete fumble how they set up the proxys just so we can have an MC that walks through a tiny world and pushes us through TVs before we get to the actual content. You are rarely playing as the characters you've spent time and money building. Even the story delivery is completely disjointed from the game-world. Its so disconnected and jarring that I walk away from every play session not feeling satisfied. Hoyo should have built ZZZ just like HSR, except instead of going into turn-based combat, you go into ZZZ style combat. That way, you can actually play the entire game as your built characters--get to move through the game as them, and feel some sense of cohesiveness and connection between the characters and the world. I do not understand who this game is for, and as more and more high quality gacha games are made, I will understand even less.
@@pfortunato78 I think story wise we played completely different games (respectfully). However, I do get bored of the tv world. Not playing as a MC and complaining about it seems weird to me. The proxy is supposed to guide people through the hollows. It be hard to do in the field while fighting ethereals. And even if you could do that, they have to bring along equipment or do the thing in games where they just pull stuff out out of nowhere. Most proxies in universe do go into the hollows but have to stay far away to watch the people they are guiding (the soldier 11 mission talks about this). I get watching to build up the MC to an extent. But in most of these type of games the MC usually falls off and isn’t that good pretty fast into the lifespan of the game and no one ends up using them anyways. So they probably see that and didn’t want to take time coding a character that no one uses anyways, even if the audience that do want to use them is small it’s kind of a waste ( in their eyes). To me the story has been easy to follow with some twists that I wasn’t suspecting, and the characters have been enjoyable. I do agree that the tv content is boring. But the combat gameplay is so fun that I can deal with some puzzles and look at the game as a whole rather than only focusing on the aspects I don’t like (which I also hate the endgame lack of content cause it all centers around stamina).
The Main story can be difficult to follow since for now they are going for the Conspiracy storyline where everything seem unrelated but at certain intermissions, they reveal how everything is actually related to each other. There small hints but you need to pay attention to the details to pick them up before they reveal them more directly in Intermission chapters. We do not fully understand how events of Prologue, Chapter 1, and Chapter 2 are connected until Chapter 2 intermission while hinting how this Secret Organization may have caused the fall of old Eridu and may even know the origins of Hollows. Chapter 3 focus on setting up that there are other groups and organizations already fighting againsts this Secret evil organization that controls what left of humanity in the shadows.
@@GamingGame-pq3xy Fannon, adding all happened in their heads to what game actually conveyed to the players. Typical hyv fandom copium. Just admit a certain percentage of players found it boring and bad. People are allowed to feel that way.
@@bethol5968Wait wait, how is that fanon? Everything OP said is literally true. All the story chapters are self-contained stories with small threads linking them together, setting up plot points for the future. Fans aren’t making it up in their heads, it’s not copium. If you’ve played through the story that’s exactly what it is. People found it boring, sure whatever that’s their opinion. But don’t make stuff up just because you have the reading comprehension of a rock.
@@bethol5968 no it’s true you can watch summaries of the story. They’ll say the same thing this person did. The story is not episodic It’s a serialized and the reason why you meet new factions.
The story starts off slow but Im starting to believe the story's biggest detriment is the skip button. We all wished for it and now that its here a lot of people check out the story pretty easily. Which is fine but a lot of people then judge the story with little context. Imo the story is actually pretty decent albeit boring in the beginning. Ya not as good as Genshin or Star Rail but thats a hard comparison since we got stories like Fontaine and Penacony. I'd say the story is better than Wuwa despite it improving. The character writing and world building in this game is actually pretty impressive.
People basically reading a one page excerpt of a thousand page book, missing all the context and calling it bad. I liked the story, can admit there's probably too much story/dialogue at points, but it personally doesn't bother me and here's a tip to solve that in everything: Just READ and skip the voice acting, though the VA is actually good in this game and as such, I didn't always skip the VA. You easily cut down on time used by 75+% if you just read. Personally I like the story and characters a lot more than Star Rail, which I finally quit in Penacony 2.1. Though special mention to Belobog arc. WuWa story and characters was/is a joke, quit in 1.1. Genshin is mostly better and the only gacha Ive stuck around and actually spent money on. It's still my favorite by far.
i think it is preety sweet feature cuz you can now just enjoy the game by just skipping the entire story if u are not intrested and never think about it again
Ye I was skipping the whole thing until that part where the construction machine and anton called each other bro , I got invested and stopped skipping most of the story
@@surfersunknown don’t get me wrong it’s good to have the option to skip. But I think it’s also leading people to be even more disconnected from the story and they’re not noticing the correlation
Hoyoverse is too good at animation to be bogged down by the “you are basically forced to spend real money” gacha format. Is it too much to ask to get this animation level in a one time purchase game similar to xenoblade x? A massive open world filled with secrets, things to find, challenges to take on, and a character I love to watch. Why is this not a thing??
I agree dude I haven’t played any of these Hoyo games but based on the art style and animation, if they did that into a xenoblade chronicles 3 open world format I would definitely 100% buy it & play it
Also 100% agree. Give me an anime JRPG that's in genshin art style. Was waiting so long for Blue Protocol and they cancelled after like 4 years of development 😭 Granblue fantasy looks like a top tier action JRPG with anime style though. You guys may want to check that out
I feel like ZZZ, has devs that want to make a standalone release, but for some reason they just dont break from the gatcha format, I think EVERY game by hoyoverse would be 10 to 100 times better if it was just a standalone, offline, with no gatcha with the stories standing on there own. I got to level 30 within a week, but the energy basically makes it to where you can only upgrade maybe 30% of a characters stats within a 24 hour period, which when you dont really have any side story events with interesting dialogue to indulge in, and pulls start to feel like a waste of time to even farm for, it genuinely made me not want to boot the game up, I went from playing everyday, actually enjoying the game, to timegated to maybe only 30 minutes of possible gameplay (as mundane as it became) within a 24 hour period, and the only way to escape any of those problems would be to drop maybe a hundred dollars to actually get back into the actual game, so at the end of the day I would say... ZZZ was a good game, until the tutorial ended, because once you unlock almost all functions, the game starts making it very clear they do not care about any gameplay experience you have that you arent paying for. TL;DR: ZZZ would be a great game if just sold as a standard release without gatcha mechanics, and even as a gatcha game it is painful to play due to the fact they seem to ignore the "Game" part of a "Gatcha Game", visuals are great, characters are interesting, I had some good laughs at some of the story, and thought it was quite good, but I wouldnt spend your time on the game unless you plan to spend thousands of dollars as well.
Sadly China doesn’t like standalone releases. Have to make it a gacha most of the time to make the development costs cause most everyone there plays on their phones and not PCs or consoles
Ngl this is the one game that has been growing on me the more I play. I totally felt your criticism like when I first started the game it felt a little bit overwhelming and confusing how to navigate this game. But ya Ive been logging in daily since launch but Im now really vibing with the whole atmosphere. Im mostly a story and character player so I can mostly comment on that. The first chapter/prologue is good but the weakest for me imo. That said when we get around to the other factions like Belebog Inudstries and Victorian Housekeeping (even just hanging out with those two from PubSec), that was the peak of the game for me. I hope you gave them a chance because they felt more character driven and you get more attached with the cast. Like for Belebog, I loved the conflict between Koleda and Grace, the goofiness of saving the robots, and dam when Koleda was fighting the robot and remembered her father I felt like I was watching a classic mecha anime and almost shed a tear. Even the PubSec interlude, handing out fliers, trying to prove innocence of Give Change, and getting to see Zhu Yuan stand up for her morals was really charming and again felt like I was just chilling in an anime. So it was confusing at first but then I realized oh the format here is basically each chapter you work alongside and get to know each faction while the overarcing plot is to uncover the truth behind this conspiracy and lore of New Eridu, a neat format that I like how much that makes sense and gets me excited for future stories. Oh plus the game having VHS tapes to rewatch the stories and each has their own cover art on them like that's so clever and more interactive, all this artwork in this game just builds up the atmosphere this game is going for man I love it.
Yea, I am really enjoying the characters and stories. I gata disagree on meeting Belebog as the peak story moment. So far, the introduction to Hollow Zero and the special security force, chasing down that massive Etheral was my favorite part in the game so far lol. I'm only level 35 so I haven't finished everything but man, I really hope we get to see/interact w/ the special operations team more, they are the coolest part of the game imo.
@@mmhnef They were so cool especially Miyabi! I totally get that being a really cool action moment, this is where preferences come in because I personally love the most getting to know characters and their stories.
@@MtchndraLrd Hah yea it's totally preference. I'm a sucker for super hype anime, so watching a badass hunt down that giga etheral was my favorite part. I also really like that they put an emphasis on character development, i've loved all the character stories so far, it's probably what I look forward too the most tbh as I increase my levels.
Most of the points given are valid and subjective to personal preferences. But if someone skip the story then talks about how uninteresting it looks is kinda too much. They should add the skip button for the non main storyline at least and must add it to those daily chores that somehow has long ass text.
no actually totally valid since he payed attention to the first chapter. and as he also says it's supposed to hook you in within the first few minutes. unless it does it simply is not good storytelling. the "it gets good after x hours" argument is so useless and is only brought up by people who have no clue about UX, game design, writing, storytelling, etc.
@@nulleins8672 sorry for not clarifying this properly, I did not say fully towards moga. I do heard that he sat through the early chapters. I generally said this for those story skippers but complain about the story being bad. IMO, the story is decent although it's true that the buildup is slow. But in moga's case, he probably doesn't like how they present the story (voiced/unvoiced/comic) so that might be another reason he doesn't like it.
agreed, I always encourage everyone to atleast finish chapter 3 before judging the game.. I can also feel there is less tv on chapter 3... now if they cut it another 50% from there, i think this game will be great... i like the tv only in hollow, besides that, it was unnecessary
I’m also thinking of taking a break from zzz already, Wuwa and Genshin are like my favorite children where I invest a lot of time into it cause the story, gameplay and world is really nice to me. zzz has a nice vibe but I agree it just has not grabbed my attention that well yet and that’s fine. Maybe later I’ll feel different about it but for now it’s not for me
Idk why, but i got addicted to this game more than Genshin. Maybe because of the atmosphere of the environment, the animation, the story is what makes for me. But at the end of the day, it's up to the players to enjoy the game or not.
For me it is the weight of the combat. ZZZ is my first Gacha and I tried Wuwa and Genshin but it feels like I am smacking enemies with a wet tower sometimes. Also I enjoy that ZZZ needs less time investment.
All the points for why people don't like this game is honestly 100% Fair Imo, and its usually all the exact same things across many people. As someone who loves it, Even I have my gripes on certain things (*cough cough* TV's for the most part). Much respect for giving this game a chance with 50 Hours. It's definitely not for everyone and that's totally fine. I think the style, Vibe and Insane animations of this game kept me going. Idk it's just... different I guess
i believe the bangboos are similar to elfs from honkai impact 3rd from my understanding of both. i think the only difference was elfs costed the same gems you used to pull for characters & equipment. i also think that the combat is the most similar to hi3 in we’re comparing it to other hoyo games with switch & then qte from hi3
true the story is too underwhelming at the very start. felt like ch1 was supposed to be ch2 and it’s missing the beginning of the story where it hooks people in
istg people in the gacha community still don't understand that people can have their own opinions about a thing. Whether they like something or not it's not going to affect your own enjoyment of the game.
Yeah, also in gaming and entertainment in general people find hard to differentiate between when a product is bad and when is just not for you, it is completely fair to not like certain things and say it but is SO COMMON to use that as an "argument" to say X or Y is trash or "objectively" bad.
@@p4ntom87 doesn't that just mean the majority disagree with his opinion, and there are actually more people who enjoy the game. If there were more people who truly agree with his take then shouldn't the likes ratio be higher?
I knew it wasn't for me very very quickly. The key part of any game long term is what ever its game play loop is, and the combat in ZZZ is fun for a moment and then just not. When you don't really need to think and it's just twitch react to the sound / visual cue at that's it you're never going to keep playing.
Yeah, I agree with your points, but I still like playing it for now. i just wished you can have the other characters available for use in the "open world" part.
@@orborborborbbro is straight lying. That feature isn’t available, but they said they will allow you to use your characters in the overworld in a later update.
genuine question was any of the persona games to your liking? if not completely understand even more why you didn’t really enjoy the story and overworld since it’s an even more dumbed down and simplified take on that
yea as a hi3 veteran, ive hated genshin pretty early on why it wasnt as good as their previous game at this point anything is better than genshin, i literally went to the gym instead after quitting genshin
pretty i have same issues you do mate, really like the combat, but it can get stale, and story is very "meh" for me, its not engaging like Genshin or HSR which just have better hook, this game just didn't hook me at all when it came to story telling
As a comparison, I play on the 'easy' mode and still have plenty of trouble with timing everything right in the combat. But then, I play on mobile, on a suboptimal server with higher ping, and I lack the talent and motivation to 'get g00d'. In as many, probably less, pulls I got Ellen, her weapon twice in one pull, and double Lycaon. And I do like the story - Ive never understood people spamming the skip button, and then being disappointed in the story. Has the game grabbed me as a whole..? No, not yet. And it probably won't. I really crave the open world exploration of Genshin, no other game has scratched that particular itch yet. I might play ZZZ every few days or weeks, like HSR.
I've been having a lot of fun with the game and have not lost interest despite grinding way too much for the 300 pulls on standard since I have no interest in some of the upcoming characters. I honestly like the designs and they feel different from genshin and star rail which is something I really like. The story was also good for me since I mostly play genshin and star rail for the story anyway (more casual player) I like the feeling of being a hacker working with everyone. Right now I have 5 S tier characters/weapons: Grace, Nekomata, Lycaon and the other two being weapons. I'm not frustrated at the combat right now as I have all the A tiers so far mostly ranked up besides Anby and Ben. I am Inter-knot level 41 I believe and the main thing I want is more story since I think it gets better after chapter two. I do like how the agent stories are quicker and don't take as much time as character quests like in genshin. The animation is funky and great, I love Billy and Lycaon a lot. I also like the Hollow Zero and other game mode despite being more casual. It's good for me since I have the time to just grind in games. I also don't mind the tv system?? I got kind of annoying with some story quests with just watching it and the puzzles are way too simple, but it's alright. I can't complain cause I get somewhat annoyed at genshin or star rail having shorter talking scenes and then being brought back to the overworld for a short time before going back. Idk, so far, I don't see the reason to gacha besides very specific characters cause they give you the trial characters anyway (for story) but with the characters we have right now, it's alright. I'll probably just play like I do star rail and genshin. I can understand not liking the game that much but the hoyoverse games are the only ones I really like for just playing while listening to other stuff. All of them have problems with their systems, but hey, it's a gacha game.
Yep agreed, I have the same opinions and every time I logged in to the game it just felt like a slog to do anything. I am at Interknot level 41 and everything just feels boring and unengaging. It picked up for a little bit once I understood how characters work but even after then, the fun factor for me never picked up again and in fact, it kept decreasing the more I played. Combat is too simple, unengaging, unrewarding, gets repetitive, and allows for very little freedom. The Exploration side quests aka TV missions are a dread to do, the fast forward button does not help much, much of the cutscenes inside the TV missions interrupt the flow of the mission and everything seems like its just either interrupting me as a player or seems like its actively trying to take away from the fun and it feels extremely restrictive. The side quests stories are uninteresting and I just end up skipping the majority of the dialogue in them, and lots of the dialogue in this game is also off putting and cringe. In the end the whole game feels likes its filled with a giant mess of mediocre, and boring chores for you to complete, so that you can upgrade your characters to have them engage in a very boring and repetitive combat system where 75% of the battle is just mash basic attack > use Anby's skill to stun > trigger chain attack> switch to your attacker and use skill and ultimate for damage. The rest of the 25% is just dodging and parrying. Every single team in this game repeats this same one pattern with little variation which makes the combat repetitive and unrewarding. Maybe in 1.1 they will update this but knowing Hoyoverse, as long as their getting paid they won't change the formula.
i dunno if it's just me, but when people tell me like how characters work, i pretty much already know them at interknot 10. maybe just me but even when i play genshin, you have a harder time to time your ult right just to get the maximum damage. it's crazy how genshin has more combat when i think about it. attacks, charged attacks, plunge, skill, hold skill and ultimate. zzz takes only attacks, skill and ult, while you have switches and parry. you can finished levels with just one or two characters even. i dont think we're fortunate for hoyo to spice it up anytime soon. probably need more time in the future to finally add something to the combat so i think till 2.0, we're stuck in this boring chore for a while

My biggest problem starting out this game was the UI. I play Genshin and HSR so I more or less know what all the stuff is and I still had no idea what I was looking at half the time. I'm still confused about the skills page.
I have to say that my experience for the 2 weeks I played it pretty much went the same way. The character designs are also very hit or miss for me. Dunno.
like you said in the first 3 min. zzz tried something new.. which is the reason I like it a lot. imagine if they have something similar like their previous games. it would be boring. maybe just me
@@darwisybaqir5877 half? I don't think so. I can see the similarity in story/quest system. other than that, it's entire different game. if you play zzz you knew this.
i just downloaded it last night and i totally agtree with you about the story. i just dont care about the story. gameplay is pretty good though. so, theres that... overall, im enjoying the game. Zenless Zone Zero, Lets Go!
the games wish system is stingy as hell compare to WuWa, Genshin and HSR. I manage to get Jiyan and Jinshi and still have 2k leftovers but this game, its just me scrounging for scraps like a racoon in the middle of the night. even HSR isnt this stingy. at least the repetitive combat is still fun for me.
@@kae9831 Not really, Wuwa is for sure less stingy, and if you can manage to not die once you levelled all units the 4 star weapons/5 star standard selected weapons are enough to clear everything (even though to be fair the 5 star signature weapons can be really good, but in exchange we get a 100% which I prefer a lot). It depends on the character, though. Changli's signature isn't that much stronger than the 5 star sword you can pick for free/from standard pulls via selector. Now from a currency perspective as I've been playing Genshin for years now, it feels much easier getting a character in Wuwa. We get about the same, if not a bit more currency every patch than in Genshin while soft and hard pity for the character is also lower than in Genshin. The fact that ZZZ kept the 75% weapon banner broke my brain right after Wuwa released, tbh. That type of banner must really make a lot of money for them to decide to not be competitive with a game that released just a bit before theirs in that regard.
@@Ew-wth am not talking about that game and am talking about hoyo games in general, it's just like HSR but in zenlees weapon banner you have 0.1 more than HSR
This is already a review from a Hoyo dedicated creator for so many years but some hoyo cultist can't still accept the HONEST REVIEW & Opinion of their creators, how much more if this is a review by a non-hoyo cc. The Hoyopium that this Hoyo cultist & fans take is so hard, that it already causes them brainrot.
I have fun in the combat, and love the comic strip animations, I just don't care for the down time with the little quests which some take way more time than you'd think. And I could do with less TV time.
All games after genshin made me appreciate it more. It was a phenomenon in this genre. A close second in my opinion is Star rail. A good modern turn based is perfect for phones.
There is actually an equivalent to Bangboos in another Hoyo game and it's ELFs in Honkai Impact 3rd. And while ELFs can be obtained through game, they have their own gacha banner where you spend your premium currency. So Bangboos being completely (well almost conpletely, there are still 3 bamboo pulls per month that can only be obtained through paid battle pass) free to play are a step forward
ZZZ's storytelling is a mixed bag for me. Some clearly have a lot of heart written into it, like the Belobog chapter (the VA's performances certainly helped) and the sidequest with the bears and their 'Big Sister' who's a cat. The rest though... I zoned out throughout the PubSec chapter
I mostly respect the review but as someone who dislikes the game, its crazy to put your input on a story when you only didnt skip one chapter. Its not that you're not allowed to but talking about the story at all while skipping it is just crazy legit dont even mention it if you did it.
In a weird way, I feel like my enjoyment of the game was hindered by being able to trial all of the standard characters. While I can see how this is a great feature in theory, in practice, it meant I immediately found 4 characters I wanted more than the limited character. And of course, my luck meant the one I got as my first guarantee was the one of the five whose playstyle I didn't like at all. And my second 5 star on the standard banner was a weapon I had no use for. So now I'm just dunking all my pulls into standard so I can just pick the one I want, while otherwise only playing the starting trio since I see no reason to build anyone else when I don't like those characters as much. At this point, I feel like I'll end up clearing all the available content using a team I'm not super fond of. Maybe I'll like it more when more characters are released? But given I can basically clear the combat by just button mashing and dodging at the right time, I don't know if story alone is going to keep me playing.
Even Wuwa cant give you what you want man, If you want more you have to spend more. You spent your premium currency on your standard pulls? But what happens when you got another weapon? Will it be worthit to get a single character you want for a total of 300 pulls? Maybe, well goodluck on that and I hope you enjoy
i agree completely tbh idk why they didnt let us chose the character we wanted so we could at least play with ONE character we like (since limited banners suck)
heh I was in the same boat but I lucked out and got what I wanted. I wanted Nekomata because fast attacks and reactive gameplay w/ dodging is the exact playstyle I enjoy in fighting games. I ended up getting her S weapon and then was able to grab her from the guaranteed after 300 standard banner summons. I look at gacha games as rogue like games. You roll the dice and make the best with what you're given, you can use $$ to tilt the odds towards an outcome you want but that's about it.
The story is pretty good wdym. Its perfect in its simplicity nothing too deep like genshin or star rail. I played genshin for 3 years the story gave me a head ache after cause of all the lore. So zzz story is refreshing for me.😅
I mean if you like that that's good for you, personally though when I follow a game long term I want it to be more in depth in storytelling. Not saying that can't happen in ZZZ, but I feel like your expectations right now might be that they keep it simple (which they very well might, idk).
If you don’t follow the story of ZZZ for what reason ever I think ZZZ is not your game then. It’s very story focused, I’d say more than HSR and Genshin. I guess you either like or hate ZZZ. I personally love it, but I understand if you don’t.
I just got this game played 2 hrs of it. Thought why doesn’t no one talk about this? Turns out most people just don’t even give it a chance. Really sad cause it’s a really good free to play with a lot of love from the developers
Allot of them did but its simply on player preference even after reaching endgame. He literally reached to that point but not as impressed enough to set it as a main game. Its a side game.
Thank you for the Honest review, i was planning on deleting other games to install zzz but i waited until others review it. And out judging from multiple CC's review, it ain't worth to delete other games for zzz😅
It's a bit different from other games. Giving it a try wouldn't hurt, but i won't try to convince you^^ Honestly no HoYo game is worth deleting other games for, but they're a good time wasters
the nice thing is that it’s a whole different environment. Genshin is serene and star rail is space/galaxy stuff. This is an urban subway surfers type of environment and it’s different than the rest. Personally, i like things different
What an interesting take. My first hoyo game was ZZZ and it was fun, but that less than 1% SSR is brutal and very unlikely. Not letting them manipulate me like that with that fomo so I deleted it. Gameplay's awesome though.
I would be shocked to discover games of this type wouldn’t still be raking it in w rates 5 times as good. Units are such an integral part of these games… NEVER being able to get them makes it feel like something is just “wrong” with the game.
I appreciate your opinion amd feedback moga. I think the best way to play zzz is with large breaks in between (maybe 2-3 days) from my experience playing it, while fun, the game does drag on sometimes
I think the game is pretty good so far, you just have to take into account that it's pretty new and could improve over time as genshin and honkai have been out for some time now and had lot's of updates to get better and better. Overall I do respect and agree with most of your points about the game, their pretty much valid and I'm glad that you explained why those certain things were or weren't good.
this is not a hate comment, but ever since i started playing wuthering waves, and trying zzz out,zzz is so bad with the rewards,i played for several days and i can barely get close to the S rank character i want in the limited banner and in wuthering waves i only explored 1 single area and got a ten pull....the difference is insane, overall tho zzz can be fun if you play it for a little bit if you play it all day it gets extremely boring ..
I'm just sad I couldn't even actually play the game, twice I tried to load it and it kicked me out 😭 first time I was almost done with a cutscence, second time couldn't even actually log into the game.
around 6:24 - challange mode doesnt have its own rewards? its polychrome. Just a fuct. u can check it if u ever switched hard off - u have new tab called "hard mode" its all the challange modes u failed
My friend, [Challenge mode] and [Hard mode] in this game are different. Challenge mode is for normal story part where you can turn on and off as you want by clicking Challenge button at the bottom left in the team setup screen. I don't know what's the different between turning it on and off (because enemies in both options are easy as heck). But this thing doesn't affect your rewards, at all. Hard mode is the separate tab from normal story that reuse story battle stage with adding time trial and more enemies HP for extra rewards.
Il be honest i personally enjoyed the story most likely because i love visual novels and games that give u the visual novel vibe like Honkai impact 3rd that is my favorite story game that is a 3d visual novel with some gameplay.
Since this isn't a first impression and a 2-week review, critiquing the combat while being Shiyu Defense 6 is a little.... Especially with a level 41 account.
Yeah that's why he thinks that way. And probably he was playing only Ellen team, so not surprised by that take. Well when he will discover all challenging content and other teams hope he will get a good experience. Personally I did started feeling that combat is boring, but discovered Piper assault team and man that fun. Also I started doing properly characters mechanics, and dipping into advanced stuff and man its fun to going outside «standart rotation» thing and styling on enemy's
I would like better character designs, a lot of the characters are too sexualized or just look bad. Also rewards are very high compared to other hoyo games, but after wuwa it dosen't feel enough
I love the story in this game, everything looks so lively and full of life. For someone who always prefers to be sold by gameplay, it didn't click. Story is keeping me in the game, but.... As a heavy casual. I'll be only there for the story. The gameplay could've been interesting as Wuwa's combat system simplicity whilst giving characters mechanics that varies heavily.. leading to fire compositions
For those who enjoy ZZZ I hope the game updates very well. I agree with a lot of what Moga says. For me. I just don't enjoy the art direction. The theme is all. And gameplay wise I tried it and it's only ok. I still prefer genshin and WuWa. I cannot juggle a 3rd gatcha.
Not gonna lie… I’m a balance between someone who likes a challenge, but also just love casual style gaming, the combat it’s short and simple but I also find it exciting, love the character designs, and the more you get into the story it’s really dope, one thing I’ll say is that the game just came out, so I wouldn’t knock it away immediately, games manage to evolve overtime along with the mechanics and way it is played, but as long as you actually have FUN playing it then that’s the best thing possible
The biggest put down of this game for me was the character design and gameplay, There wasn't a single character (Only Nicole) which design i really liked, the others were meh or just too strange for my liking, and it was the first time playing a gacha looking at the roster and not liking anyone lol (wolf dude has some cool gameplay I'll give him that) About gameplay, i agree it's kinda simple and the game loop gets very repetitive and old quick, we could use some more buttons or options when stunning enemies
overall review is solid but some points are a bit odd since for example genshin suffers from a lot of the same combat complaints that zzz does. Doesn't make the complaints invalid but in Moga's case maybe a bit hypocritical. Though having a section where the gacha system is judged via personal experience is kinda just flawed in a review. Any luck based mechanic should be judged by the theoretical average. While zzz doesn't have a particularly good gacha system at least the weapon banner is somewhat okay since the base chance of getting an S rank is 1% and not the typical 0.6%. Though I still find the hoyo stantard of gacha system bad as it seems excessively predatory via it's very low base drop rate and then having majority rely on the soft pity which happens basically and the very end of a pity cycle.
This entire video is instantly void for me. "I didn't listen to the story" Cool. I'm not listening to your opinion then cause its obviously full of holes.
From what i can see the game is not entirely story and he also read the overveiw also he said that the story was over quickly and that combat was the most prevalent feature
It makes zero sense to judge the game at all after saying that. The story isn't mindblowing but its solid enough and has a lot of potential. Just because it's got a different format doesn't mean you can skip the story and expect the same level of enjoyment. First video in a LONG ass time I've disliked a video.
Are you that deluded, lore gamer? News flash, core gameplay loop routine is far more important over some story 😂 Plus zzz doesnt even have co-op LMAO what a joke
As someone who used to love Genshin (stopped playing it after fontaine because it became too much) and is currently very invested in Star rail, I had high expectations for Zenless. Maybe too high. Most of the criticisms you stated (gatcha, story, etc) are the exact same I have for it too. Except, I actually do like the combat, but I feel like zenless has an even worse problem where there’s more story than actual combat. Maybe it has to do with the whole premise of you being a proxy and not actually contributing with fighting but I feel like that’s my biggest issue with zenless. If the story wasn’t so 2d and flat, and honestly mind numbingly boring too, and the combat was at least 50% or have a situation similiar to Genshin and star rail where you can find monsters and beat them up around the map? But no. Instead you usually have to go through some kind of dialogue or story to even begin combat. Besides hollow zero and whatever the other end mode was called. I dropped Wuthering waves because my ipad couldn’t handle it and despite its really terrible story (seriously the story was shit), I preferred it over Zenless. Such a pity because some of the parts really are great. Hopefully, they’ll take most of these criticism into account when creating the next game.
Yeah I watched some gameplay and thought a lot of the things you said and didn't even download the game. If a character looked super awesome I would download it but for some reason I'm not impressed with any of them.
My thoughts on the game. This game's story has the same feel with the anime DURARARARA!!! Everything is connected somehow and moving at the same time. My problem is that anime is very enjoyable and zzz lacks something I can't explain. Everytime I see the exaggerated character movement I feel like they're compensating for some parts of the world (im looking at you wise lazy walking animation). There's so many things happening during combat that the UI on mobile devices is very cramped, you can't see 💩 and it's making me dizzy. Music is amazing as expected. Agree with the story delivery being all over the place. I stopped playing it not because it's bad but because I realize this is not a game for me.
Mega might not like the "Pixar"-esque talking scenes but I LOVE it. I really like how the game took out unnecessary details and made the characters feel alive.
But another thing I don't understand is why alot of ppl have issues with ez story difficulty and repetitive animations with zzz and not genshin and hsr bc that's just been a thing with hoyo games for awhile now. Are ppl finally starting to wake up?
One thing, just one thing, team buildings. Genshin have elemental reaction and HSR have buff and debuff (plus a good story). ZZZ isn't something Mihoyo brought as a new concept, just as I always said, they're just a downgraded version of Honkai Impact 3rd. People who says ZZZ are fun are the same people who never know Honkai Impact 3rd exist.
The people who have been complaining probably haven't reached the later chapters of the story, where I do see a significant increase in difficulty and overall I enjoyed my time playing the game so far.
@@Meteor-ThunderBears Zenless has buffs and defuffs as well though? And it has team building, for example you always wanna put your support character in front of your DPS, that way they'll end up gaining the buff instead of for example your defense character. There's also elemental damage and you get bonus damage for pairing two elements together. The points you brought exist in the game already.
im just started a week, enjoy some stories and Trying to lv up is kinda struggling, then its the farming afterwards. Im not a whale either so i was still lucky to get Ellen.
I didn’t have much opinion regarding the story in the beginning but enjoyed act 3. I will say though, that without the other factions the story would’ve been a bit more boring. I can appreciate the colourful cast adding more personality and depth to a world. Personally, the things I don’t really like about ZZZ are, how we have to use the HDD system for almost every mission. It’s an interesting concept but my god is it long and boring as hell sometimes. Also people like how they show you the numbers in the gacha, I get why, but I just think it’s cruel. Seeing how much more currency you need just makes you urgent to want to bring the number down. The combat I agree can get boring. The button mashing can get really tiring but I do like when the skills come into play- it just makes me wanna try different characters. I do like ZZZ- I don’t know how long they can keep my attention for, but I personally enjoyed this first patch.
The moment you starting to skip the game story, it already overed for you. You rushed because you need to create content? You forgot why you started playing a game.
@@p4ntom87These Hoyo shills are delusional. I wouldn't be surprised if the reason they push the story so hard is because it has underlying CCP propaganda.
Call me pompous for immediately taking this position sure buddy
I agree with you but a lot of this comes from people "speedrunning" the game and it does get boring fast....
I've had the same with HSR because I was so excited to play it when I got my PS5 so I played and played but now I'm just so bored of the combat and all of it
@@HatDog21that’s very very normal. I don’t understand ppl who play star rail long term and every day and not get tired cuz you are just doing the same thing over and over and over again.
The story is just about world building atm... not every story needs to be about world ending stuff at the start
>plays new gacha game
>speedruns through the entire thing without fully getting into it
>skips the story
“Why is the game boring”
Many such cases

At least we can replay the story through video archive, meaning we can catch up on the story.
i think it is preety sweet feature cuz you can now just enjoy the game by just skipping the entire story if u are not intrested and never think about it again
Was waiting so long for Blue Protocol and they cancelled after like 4 years of development 😭
Granblue fantasy looks like a top tier action JRPG with anime style though.
TL;DR:
ZZZ would be a great game if just sold as a standard release without gatcha mechanics, and even as a gatcha game it is painful to play due to the fact they seem to ignore the "Game" part of a "Gatcha Game", visuals are great, characters are interesting, I had some good laughs at some of the story, and thought it was quite good, but I wouldnt spend your time on the game unless you plan to spend thousands of dollars as well.
Sadly China doesn’t like standalone releases. Have to make it a gacha most of the time to make the development costs cause most everyone there plays on their phones and not PCs or consoles
Tbf a game being gacha is always going to be fundamentally worse than if it weren't a gacha
Good on you if you like the story.

The most difficult part of playing this game is becoming an incel

For me it is the weight of the combat. ZZZ is my first Gacha and I tried Wuwa and Genshin but it feels like I am smacking enemies with a wet tower sometimes. Also I enjoy that ZZZ needs less time investment.

Yeah, also in gaming and entertainment in general people find hard to differentiate between when a product is bad and when is just not for you, it is completely fair to not like certain things and say it but is SO COMMON to use that as an "argument" to say X or Y is trash or "objectively" bad.

pretty i have same issues you do mate, really like the combat, but it can get stale, and story is very "meh" for me, its not engaging like Genshin or HSR which just have better hook, this game just didn't hook me at all when it came to story telling

I'm still confused about the skills page.
pointed out tons of valid points. I hope zzz improves on all this.
I have to say that my experience for the 2 weeks I played it pretty much went the same way. The character designs are also very hit or miss for me. Dunno.
like you said in the first 3 min. zzz tried something new.. which is the reason I like it a lot. imagine if they have something similar like their previous games. it would be boring. maybe just me
it's similar to honkai if you ask me but you rip half of what the game has off and that's what you get for zzz
@@darwisybaqir5877 half? I don't think so. I can see the similarity in story/quest system. other than that, it's entire different game. if you play zzz you knew this.
The story good or not, the skip option will give you a briefing on the convo being discussed before confirming
i just downloaded it last night and i totally agtree with you about the story. i just dont care about the story. gameplay is pretty good though. so, theres that... overall, im enjoying the game. Zenless Zone Zero, Lets Go!
"After chapter 1 I skipped everything🤡" man the Audacity to review the story👁👄👁
the games wish system is stingy as hell compare to WuWa, Genshin and HSR. I manage to get Jiyan and Jinshi and still have 2k leftovers but this game, its just me scrounging for scraps like a racoon in the middle of the night. even HSR isnt this stingy. at least the repetitive combat is still fun for me.
MF is the same system in all of these game's

Just a small note, anthropomorphic means having human characteristics :)
Both ben and the wolf dude are anthropomorphized.
@@williamthatsmyname yes, but I'm pretty sure Moga was trying to say that he's not a fan of furry designs
@@ABSTREKT furry=anthro/anthropomorphic.
He just trying not to use furry word. Its the right word to use in the end, so it won't really matter tbh.
It can also mean "ascribing human characteristics to nonhuman things".
that's fair. pretty much everything i have been thinking about zzz for awhile now.
nice review i agree with you especially with the combat opinion
I have fun in the combat, and love the comic strip animations, I just don't care for the down time with the little quests which some take way more time than you'd think. And I could do with less TV time.
All games after genshin made me appreciate it more. It was a phenomenon in this genre. A close second in my opinion is Star rail. A good modern turn based is perfect for phones.
its a gacha game, how much are people spending on the gacha? is there a stamina system? how many times does this game paywall you?
My only problem is you need 100gb for a 50gb game
almost the size of elden ring 💀
oh man, if that's true, i can't even install it.
You roll the dice and make the best with what you're given, you can use $$ to tilt the odds towards an outcome you want but that's about it.
i clear a lot of the levels with the saw girl alone and bangboo. it wasnt really that much thinking when fighting other than just dodging them
Everybody here is writing whole ass novels
The story is pretty good wdym. Its perfect in its simplicity nothing too deep like genshin or star rail. I played genshin for 3 years the story gave me a head ache after cause of all the lore. So zzz story is refreshing for me.😅
I also like the story. ZZZ story is like a superhero film, has some mysteries here and there but very simple and not that deep.
I mean if you like that that's good for you, personally though when I follow a game long term I want it to be more in depth in storytelling. Not saying that can't happen in ZZZ, but I feel like your expectations right now might be that they keep it simple (which they very well might, idk).
Just 1 thing, the amount of loading and waiting for something kill my joy in the game.
Excellent review. I like it 😬👌
If you don’t follow the story of ZZZ for what reason ever I think ZZZ is not your game then.
As someone who uninstalling DMC5 and Tomb Raider, yeah, ZZZ is not worth it if you have to uninstall other games.
It's a bit different from other games.
Giving it a try wouldn't hurt, but i won't try to convince you^^
Honestly no HoYo game is worth deleting other games for, but they're a good time wasters
I dont play this game but I got this hame ad-
the nice thing is that it’s a whole different environment.
THE TV CONENT SINGLE HANDEDLY MADE ME QUIT I HATE IT SOOO MUCH.
Glad they’re removing it because it’s only enjoyable in hollow zero

I simply can't read the font well, I have no issue reading any other game text or subtitles. It's killed the game for me.
I was excited to play the game but got bored so quickly like Tower of Fantasy did...at least I got Lycaon on there
I would be shocked to discover games of this type wouldn’t still be raking it in w rates 5 times as good.
Overall I do respect and agree with most of your points about the game, their pretty much valid and I'm glad that you explained why those certain things were or weren't good.
i really couldn't get past the beginning slugfest and i was hoping you'd convince me to go further
this is not a hate comment, but ever since i started playing wuthering waves, and trying zzz out,zzz is so bad with the rewards,i played for several days and i can barely get close to the S rank character i want in the limited banner and in wuthering waves i only explored 1 single area and got a ten pull....the difference is insane, overall tho zzz can be fun if you play it for a little bit if you play it all day it gets extremely boring ..
That’s the issue though why are you grinding a single game for an entire day?😭 but you are right zzz is not the game if you want to spam gacha
I'm just sad I couldn't even actually play the game, twice I tried to load it and it kicked me out 😭
first time I was almost done with a cutscence, second time couldn't even actually log into the game.
Hei will you play throne and liberty 12 september?
I've had the Downloading error for a week now. Version correction then it says "Other downloading error" and it just won't open no matter what I do.
They the APK download version
around 6:24 - challange mode doesnt have its own rewards? its polychrome.
Hard mode is the separate tab from normal story that reuse story battle stage with adding time trial and more enemies HP for extra rewards.
yes, it is a side game to play casually to release some steam for me.
Story is ok but i wish it had like a 2x speed option
I love the story in this game, everything looks so lively and full of life. For someone who always prefers to be sold by gameplay, it didn't click.
Story is keeping me in the game, but.... As a heavy casual. I'll be only there for the story. The gameplay could've been interesting as Wuwa's combat system simplicity whilst giving characters mechanics that varies heavily.. leading to fire compositions
"Usually on this channel I try to be more on the positive side" Brother, you've been yapping just like everybody else, you ain't any better lmfao
Exactly how I feel✨🫶
let's not forget the new game that let's you drive cars. from the looks of it, even that game has better combat and visuals
For me the only bad part is the tv system that can be realy slow
Fr tho I haven't skipped anything until today and I've been on for a week and still not done with chapter one it's insane
For me, it’s only the story tv mechanic that just turn me off completely to the game 😅 got old, VERY quick
In the TV puzzle part I just used the WASD controls since the mouse click felt so jank to me.
The biggest put down of this game for me was the character design and gameplay, There wasn't a single character (Only Nicole) which design i really liked, the others were meh or just too strange for my liking, and it was the first time playing a gacha looking at the roster and not liking anyone lol (wolf dude has some cool gameplay I'll give him that)
About gameplay, i agree it's kinda simple and the game loop gets very repetitive and old quick, we could use some more buttons or options when stunning enemies
Your team is like 10x slower than mine in switching animations XD, guess it depends on the characters didn't know that.
overall review is solid but some points are a bit odd since for example genshin suffers from a lot of the same combat complaints that zzz does.
"I didn't listen to the story"
Cool.
Guess the 1st chapter of the game isn't the story.
Are you that deluded, lore gamer?
News flash, core gameplay loop routine is far more important over some story 😂
Plus zzz doesnt even have co-op LMAO what a joke
@@jsh7939 A game isn't just the story.
Forgot to say that it has better frame rate than genshin cuz it has unlimited Genshin locked at 60
But another thing I don't understand is why alot of ppl have issues with ez story difficulty and repetitive animations with zzz and not genshin and hsr bc that's just been a thing with hoyo games for awhile now.
