They have undeveloped digestive systems; the poop they push out is almost as big as what they eat. That's probably why the parents fight over it, it's still got a lot of nutrition in it. Many adult birds stop eating their chick's poop when they get older.

I love seeing what mama brings home for the babys to eat., I like seeing who she feeds first, omg that shrieking demand hungry babys make and my favorites is when mama gets tired of those unappreciated baby brats and gives them a peck upside their heads!! lol

It's a cry so loud one would think that it will draw a snake or some kind of other animals to it. It looks like it is going to work its mother to death bringing it food. I believe the adult birds take the feces in their mouth, but it goes to a separate place, called the craw. The adult bird then gets rid of it away from the nest, so predators aren’t attracted to the area.
These birds have parasites which I think is causing their unusual behavior. The baby especially. Holding back from pooping that long. I’ve never seen a baby eat so much without pooping. I believe it was doing this in retaliation for the Mother/Father biting it unnecessarily. You can see the lumps under the skin as well.
