    What the hell? This looks like of the top notch Donnie Yen movies in Hong Kong, and it has a high quality of cinematic value to it.

      Thank you so much (: I am definitely inspired by Donnie Yen. I try to blend both American cinematic styles with that of Asian cinema because I've been equally exposed to both. I hope my style can develop into something more distinct someday.

    This short film clip does NOT appear to look like a student film project at all. This looks more like a real movie clip extracted from a real action movie done by a professional team. Whoever did this short clip should continue to finish the whole movie. It would be ashamed if they stop here. This film maker and his film crew should have enough tools to complete the whole movie that has a real cinematic value to it. I will NOT be surprised if this movie is being picked up by a distributor either from America or from Asia.

    I love how you lingered on your shots instead of cutting left and right. Most action movies now a days just film loads of footage and have the editor direct the fight scene, but it’s obvious that you actually put love and care into your camera work and choreography. These are the kinds of projects that I adore from aspiring filmmakers, and I hope that more people like you, and less people like Michael Bay start making action movies.

    The only thing that did give it away as a student film was the audio when they spoke, while it didn’t sound horrible, it’s still underdeveloped like most movies, but otherwise, the camera work, the sounds of the hits, the choreography and overall feel of it is very professional and impressive 👍🏻

    Cracking little film scene. Very well choreographed and executed. Shot neatly. Not one frame went to waste. The main protagonist was first class as were the other cast members. Oh and I bet she's the sister at the end who'd rather neglectfully, forgotten to mention that she'd not been kidnapped but was off shagging the last one he battered lol

    Ohhh that was so dope. Just a few things from a viewers perspective, when the main character was beating up the boss, 2 of the punches thrown were not thrown with enough effort. Also, I found it a little strange that the boss didn't run away with the stairs right behind him, so that scene was slightly cheesy. Other than that, this was hella amazing and I can't wait to see more :)

    This is done really well. I especially like how you had a female villain go at him, cuz in a real situation like that, you're fighting for your life. It turned into something out of control and you could see how the main character was losing sight of himself. Very immersive.

    The fighting choreography is top notch professional and the premise is good.
    But whoever cast the actress for the "Sister" role needs their eyes checked. I don't think it would've been too hard to find a girl/woman that actually looked like the lead. Or at the very least had her dye her hair brunette.

  • @HolyHadou

    The one thing that I found off about the choreography was the people he was fighting while he had a knife didn't actively try to remove the knife from his hand but kept attacking him. That was really weird to me.

      @KevinGenkiTsai  7 років тому +1

      Thank you! I trained in Wushu since I was 6, then later transitioned to Martial Arts Tricking and stunts from around age 14. I got into filmmaking through stunts because I would always shoot my own videos in high school and later found my passion for directing, cinematography, etc. This project took about 4 weeks of preproduction (usually during the weekends since I was still in high school at the time and had to focus on applying to college). We shot it in one day but it only worked out because we had so many weekends to rehearse. I'm currently in preproduction for my freshman portfolio film at Syracuse University, so if you're interested in keeping up with my work, consider subscribing!

      If it's for a low budget film, your best bet is to have friends who are willing to do it for you. Depending on where you live, there may or may not be stunt people available. I live right outside of LA so I have stunt friends who were kind enough to help me out. If you absolutely need to hire people, there are many stunt communities through various social media platforms that you can reach out to. Hope this helps (:
