@@ahunter7563 Thanks for noticing my point. Chemister's Insight is not a key card, so there's only 4 Insights that matter, so the pun makes no sense. Also, 8-rack decks (or decks that use puns with 8 in) tend to use functional reprints or the closest possible thing for them, not just names of similar cards.

Fun fact, although underrealm lich does mill them three times as fast, while it's on the battlefield, they can't lose to mill. The effect replaces all instances of draw, so they can't "draw a card while there are no cards left in their library" to lose.

Sweet deck :) Just a couple of notes:
1- The opponent playing Underrealm Lich should've kept it on the board after you milled him a ton- they can't die to mill with it on the board because its a replacement effect. You would have to rebuke them off the table to win that game.
2- When you have 2 open mana and an Omniscience, you can kick Growths by just paying the kicker cost. Useful if you dont need the mana open!

  • @Valdreag17
    @Valdreag17 6 років тому +9

The reason why you have to pay the kicker cost with Omniscience is due to the kicker being an additional cost. Additional costs do not count as part of the mana cost.

Boy that match against grixis control shows why you should never scoop early. In game 1 if the opponent hadn't scooped early they would have won, then in game 2 you were so eager to scoop but didn't ( Seriously good on you Seth for your self control) even though the opponent very likely had the upper hand but got too greedy and you were able to completely punish them for it.

This reminds me of german player Max Bracht who was german champion a little more than 10 years ago, he played ONLY blue/green combo decks, he did a deck with Locket of yesterdays and Whispers of the Muse and Gaeas Blessing to win. He outmilled his opponent with Careful Consideration. He also played UG Heartbeat combo during Kamigawa Standard, a deck that was Tier 1 and almost too strong back then, and only like 40 bucks. Another deck he did was UG Ninjas before that, a deck he won German Nationals with. He got disqualified at worlds at some point and switched to Poker. This looks like another of his decks, and brings back a lot of memories.

Piloting this thing can be suuper weird, and it's definitely a "nut or die" deck in its current state. Grow from the Ashes amd especially Pirate's Pillage pay for themselves while storming off, eventually you find either Overflowing Insight or Nexus of Fate for the win. It's very Arena unfriendly with dozens and dozens of triggers to manage and only so long on the timer, but goofy as hell when it does go off. I don't think the deck wants Hinterland Harbor, though it'll certainly run Breeding Pool when that's legal.

That Game1 vs Zombies, I don’t think either player understood that Lich wasn’t going to allow the opponent to die.
I would have held the Rebuke to allow Lich to drop him to 0 in Deck and then do it so he decks out.
I was really hoping to see the realization that The Lich replacement effect wasn’t letting him lose.
Like the Binding on Chromium in the Divine Control deck.

Worth noting: the Underrealm Lich would have saved the opponent from decking, since its ability is a replacement effect; so they never end up drawing a card on an empty library. Yes, I know you can just bounce it.

Mill them. Didn't you watch the tech? You start pounding them with Overflow, to force your opponent to draw 7 cards.

Deck is so cool, I think you should add more fog effects though. Most of the time it's just as good as Sleep/River's Rebuke for less mana.
Then maybe something like Psychic Corrosion to mill either yourself in the early game, or your opponent in the late game.
Deck has potential to be soo broken ahaha

      Fog/Sleep < River's Rebuke
Rebuke buys you more than a turn; Rebuke basically makes them restart the game on their side. PLUS, it can work out as a discard effect if they don't spam out all their little permanents again and get stuck with too many cards in hand.

Naya Dino ramp please, preferably with Gishath as a top end (I guess polyraptor is fine too. I guess )but basically the shell is ranging raptors, migration, forerunner of legion, needletooth raptor.

1:09:12 had just enough mana for grow kicked plus sleep, could've filtered more for potential win
EDIT: Aww and it could've brought you to 5-0 too. Oh well, next time
