The small container is shrimp paste. You put it in the kare-kare (pronounced Ca-reh Ca-reh) which is the peanut stew. It elevates the dish making it more salty and just cuts the richness of the peanut sauce. While you eat it with rice.
Truth!
She needs to reply back to comments.because some of them are tips on what she should do next.
Omg I love kare kare
Yayyy! As a Filipino we can agree that we love love love when people, especially friends outside our culture appreciate our food. Thank you so much for giving it a try! Sending lots of love ❤🇵🇭
I swea Filipino food will always be top tier in my books. I thank god for having Filipino friends who introduced me to it when we were little. I can eat it literally everyday. Adobo just so freaking good
Yes she forgot the Chicken Adobo🙌🏽
That looks delicious... my ex gf is half Filipino and Jamaican, when her mom cooks it's sooooo good. Glad you enjoyed it! 🤩
Dammnnnn. I might have to come over for some food cous damn. Jamaican and Filipino 😍😍😍🔥🔥🔥
@@kadishagould Right.... I also love all Caribbean style foods too. Have a great week @Kadi 🙌
They speak Tagalog. Some words are similar to word's in Spanish. Filipino food is bomb!!! :) It all looks delicious! Those rolls are called lumpia. Hate eggrolls but I can eat tons of lumpia lol.
🥰🙌🏽💛
Hey hey! Not Filipino myself but a Filipino food lover! In the Kare Kare (Peanut Stew) that you ate, I'm pretty sure the ingredient you couldn't figure out is the beef tripe which is the stomach lining of the cow! Not necessarily for everyone but I applaud you for even trying it out :D!
The peanut dish which is called “karè karè” is supposed to be pair with that sauce that u were holding. It’s shrimp/fish paste which is perfect together 🥰🤍
Filipino food is my fave. Pancit is top tier. And tocino. My auntie is full blood Filipino. I love when she cooks.
I haven't had tocino in so long yum filipino food is so top tier 😋
That thing in the small container is Bagoong or Shrimp Paste is for the Kare-Kare. It's essential and important.
It looks so good, also thank you for helping me figure out new things to make. So glad I came across your channel 1 year strong ❤
Bagoong mix with ox tougue
The one with a peanut butter is called karekare..you eat it with the shrimp paste..trust me its heaven
As a Filipino, this video makes me so happy! And that “high” you mentioned after eating, is not a coincidence lol. Filipino food will give you the itis in the best possible way! So glad you loved it!
I love these videos!! They inspire me to step out of my comfort zone and try something new👏🏽
It definitely look good.. I think you should try Haitian food next
Yesssss.. I truly enjoy Haitian food. Actually I love all Caribbean style foods to be honest.
Gurl been telling her this for a couple of years now
Filipino food is soo good. Chicken adobo and pandit are my favs!! And how can I forget the lumpia!!!
Never tried it. But it looks bomb, tbh. The way you eating it makes me want to find a Filipino restaurant. I like trying new food.
i love seeing people try filipino food bc i love sharing my culture with other people so thank you for this video
A video I’ve been waiting for!!!! 🙏🏼 as a Filipina myself I was so happy to watch this.
I had just started watching another vid but then I saw the notification for Trinity video and I clicked off real quick
Same here!😂
You make me wanna get out my comfort zone and try new TINGS 😊 Love the vids Trinity ❤
all of that food looked delicious, especially the skewers and the noodles, yum
Except for the Pansit (noodles) everything else goes well with the rice. you can bite from the side with the skewers. the Pickled Papaya is good in cutting out the fattiness of oily foods
Filipino food is so freaking good!
Kare Kare is my favorite! We love the peanut butter flavor it pairs well with a helping of rice. What you ate is tripe. Growing up in the US I don't eat tripe but the oxtail is delicious!! You can cook Kare Kare with beef or a mix of oxtail and beef. Give it another try and remember not every Filipino Restaurant or person makes the same level of taste. Glad you enjoyed most of the food!! New sub here thanks to Frugal Fit Mom!!!
You should create a series where you taste foods from other cultures!
Yass girl u be really digging em off! Those finna be real deliciousss! Am livin from Philippines (Manila) since then, and could tell you how amazing their cruisines are!!! Mah proud pinoy heart! ♡♡♡♡ Try also Jollibee! (filipino most popular restaurant)
Ooooo , next try Haitian food . Girl you will fall in love it’s the closest to Jamaican food and it’s spicy … gurl!!!
... and she will! I love Haitian food!!!
Lumpia n Pancit is always bomb!!
I'm so happy that you tried Filipino food
For the tofu and pork (tokwa't baboy) the vinegar is usually poured all over them.
For the pork sisig, it is best to eat in a sizzling plate
For the peanut beef stew (kare kare) you need to eat that with the shrimp paste (the smelly one), what you eat is part of the intestine :)
You’re def missing short ribs, adobo and turon as a dessert. Those are my favorite Filipino staples that my friends put me on.
ill give you a rundown
kare kare is a ox tail and tripe meat stew in peanut sauce with random veggies paired with salted fish sauce called bagoong(the one in a small cup)
the tapsilog your get is a Filipino breakfast contains a marinated meat eggs and garlic rice. you got only the meat and the egg without the fried garlic rice but you still have the plain rice well its good also.
the pickles is shreded papaya and carrots mixed in sugar cane vinegar good pairing on the skewers and lumpia.
put a the lemon on a small saucer with soy sauce the drizzle it on the pancit for one serving. the pancit you order is for 2-3 persons. sometimes putting the lemon entirely on the pancit the taste seems odd if you will eat the next day.
Youre suppose to eat that shrimp paste with the peanut sauce dish (kare kare). Also the tofu you suppose to eat with the meat its with. Glad youre trying new dishes. These are somebodies favorite dishes but most famous filipino dishes are Adobo (chicken or pork). Also sinigang and then theres lechon or crispy pata (fried pork)
my bf is filipino so all these are my favorite 😭💗💗💗 you gotta try some Filipino picadillo or Filipino spaghetti, TRUST me
Trinity I just love u so much and Congratulations on your new baby girl...may God bless your family....yall give me hope❤

Omg I love your videos I can't watch it a night cause my mom will shout at me saying I should stop laughing and go to bed. You are the funniest most realistic person on UA-cam period.

Love your videos
Shrimp paste is the small condiment🥰
I love Filipino food I have a few Filipino family members so far I’ve tried Lumpia, pancit,Adobo and their version of macaroni salad. Their version of macaroni salad is different from ours it has sweetened condensed milk, cheese, fruit cocktail some kind of jelly fruit and macaroni it’s other ingredients but it’s ok
The thing you ate from the oxtail stew was tripe - meat from the stomach lining of an animal (cow, pig, goat, or sheep).
In eating (kare kare,....oxtail soup you should have a shrimp paste in adding so that the taste will become more delicious
Get a piece of tofu, a piece of pork belly and a little bit of onion, dip it in the vinegar then rice or beer maybe😊
That one in the small container is called bagoong (shrimp paste), that is for Kare Kare oxtail tripe peanut stew. It smells funky but we Filipinos love bagoong.
The bbq is been marinated with soysauce and garlic with sugar(brown)
The tapsilog is actually sisig. The tofu is called tokwat baboy (pork & tofu). If you mix it with the vinegar, it'll taste better. The tiny sauce (purple) is bagoong, which goes w/ the peanut stew or kare kare.
That sauce u said smelled bad is shrimp paste and it goes with the kare kare the peanut butter stew.
Tokwa't baboy (Tofu and Pork) is good beer food. Kare-Kare is said to be our interpretation of curry (that we saw from our Indo neighbors and Indian visitors) minus most of the spices that used to be unavailable to us. Both dishes are usually eaten as a mix with rice (tofu, pork and fresh red onions all in one go/ ox tail, tripe, veggies, some soup with a mix of that funky (but heavenly) shrimp paste that we call bagoong). The act of trying our food is showing love to our culture. Sending lots of love back. Thank you for giving our dishes a try.
I think you ate the tripe in the oxtail stew which is cow skin
Try Brazilian foods 🇧🇷🇧🇷 It’s sooo good
I always feel like people getting Filipino food in western countries are missing on calamansi which has a way different fragrance to lemon which is often a substitute for calamansi. I think a better substitute would be sour orange tho. That is one of the ingredients to give Filipino cuisine a unique flavor profile and aroma. It can be found in other countries in South/Southeast/East Asia but Filipinos use them a lot. It's used on food, as a dipping sauce, as a marinade, as a drink, as anything! And they taste really well with soy sauce, vinegar and chili
My american husband loves my Filipino recipes. Last night i cooked sweet and sour pork meat balls and he's lovin' it. Kare-kare is delicious but you can't really appreciate the taste without putting the shrimp paste to it. you and my husband have thesame feedback with the kare-kare. Obviously he's not into it as well. Meanwhile, chicken bbq is on top of his list
I’d love to see you try Cuban food. Especially Cuban picadillo with rice. My boyfriends family is Cuban and the things his grandmother makes are to die for. I’ve said it could have bugs in it and I wouldn’t care or notice because the flavors are just drool worthy!
Regarding lumpia spring rolls you have to dip in the small container

the tokwat baboy should be eaten together. tokwa and baboy together then dip in vinegard with rice thats how you blend their taste cuz tofu doesnt have that strong taste .

That mystery meat is tripe and you're suppose to eat that dish with the rice and the shrimp paste (pink looking sauce). It will probably take you 3X to love the dish. Glad you love the food!
She's a Jamaican
I'm here for this! I want to try Filipino food 😁
Most filipino food must be eaten with rice. Most dishes are rich and packed with flavor so the rice balances it out. The kare kare(kah-reh kah-reh) is usually accompanied with bagoong the shrimp paste that smells a little funky lol it cuts the richness and nutty-ness of the stew and is eaten with rice as well.
ayy i made it early i love your channel
Try Jamaican food next
