Ahead of the market as usual. I need it to have a transfer switch that meets backup-ups standards so that I can use that budget as part of my power-station budget, I use a 55ah UPS. Seems like there should be solar panels that strap to your vehicle like a car-cover.
There’s companies that make solar panels that mount to your hood to either charge your main battery or charge an extra battery. I have a second battery that runs my off road lights, GMRS radio, air compressor, etc. I thought about adding a solar panel to charge it, but I usually just plug in into a charger when needed. I use to have a DC to DC charger that would charge the second battery when the engine was running.
Scd cables are hard to get and should be an option to add when purchasing
Russ: My DJI Power 500 was delivered mid-week and used it today out in the field. What a game changer. I used the option adapter to fast charge my Air 3 batteries as I was flying. By the time one battery was depleted, I had another one available fully charged. I have 4 batteries and today I finally didn't have to worry about not having full batteries, staying up in the air longer then I ever did before. I considered your recommendation to make my final choice in selecting the Power 500. Thanks for your honest reviews!

Besides the car charger for the 500...is there anything to increase the re charge process such as an inverter?
You’d need to wire the inverter to a 12v battery, but yes 120v would charge faster than 12v.
how many avata batteries will it charge with one charge the 1000 and 500 ?

What are the safe temperature ranges. I am worried that a battery-powered charger in Florida would have a meltdown.
No I haven’t had any issues running an inverter and battery in my Jeep in Florida. That’s all a power station is, inverter and battery in a box.

Could you ask them when *any* of the accessory cables will be available (US market). I bought the Power 1000 and weeks later there still aren't any accessories available. I'm questioning my choice as a result. They give you a month to return it.

@@51Drones I just checked my order. I bought it April 19th right after I received an Email from DJI. That's nearly a month ago and no accessories have been available yet. The one exception is that I just recently managed to get the carrying case (being delivered today) and it's out of stock again. I think it was only available for a couple days.
I've been tempted to also snap up a Power 500 at the discounted price but the long term lack of inventory at launch of their magical killer SDC port feature kinda "kills" the unit's shine.
@@51Drones I guess they're not in the mood to answer. I did see the XT60 cable became available as did most of the drone recharge cables but the last two I want (the car charging and car accessory cables) are still out of stock. I bought the XT60 cable but it's in a state of "...picking the order" for three days now. This is unusual for them since things ship pretty fast in my experience.

Something I may have missed in my UA-cam research, or maybe is just too obvious for most, is that after filming a 4K video with a Mini 4, I discovered that several platforms cannot display 4K, including my wife's Android tablet, my sister-in-law's older Android phone, and my own Windows 10 laptop without first downloading a video app like VLC that has the proper CODECs. Since I can live without the higher resolution, my solution to sharing videos with family and friends will be to reset the Mini 4 to film in 1080. Who knew?!
I have watched lots of reviews but still no one has stated whether it is a Sine wave AC.
How much time can the power500 handle a 50wh LCD?
It has a 512wh battery, so it depends on it the tv is 120v or 12v…maybe 5 hours. There’s a lot cheaper options unless, you need the DJI brand name.
Russ, is it possible to plug my Traeger Electric Grill into the 1000? I have the Texas XL.

I believe you called it lithium ferrel phosphate. I don't mean to be a smart called but I think what you meant to say was lithium IRON phosphate which is the standard in all the new power stations. I could be wrong it could be a new tech I'm not aware of . Might want to double check . Also I noticed you said that proprietary connector cuts down charging DJI batteries in half . If this is true you might want to get into contact with Solar Labs UA-cam channel, they knocked the proprietary connector , taking some points away. But I'm not sure they were aware what value it provided. Thanks again love your videos.

Talking about the App..how about a way to Track the Charger if it is Lost Or Stolden...and have you tested it for water proff...someone may use it around Boats or leave it outside in a Lite Rain..or like we get Cold and Snow In the Winter how long does it Last then..( test it in a Walk-In Freezer)
I watched a guy do a teardown of it, and it is nearly completely waterproof. You should watch it!
400 watt inverter and 10ah battery is cheaper. I put one in the back of my Jeep for $200. The power station that I built for camping was $1300 with a 1500 watt inverter and 100ah battery. The DJI 1000 has a 8.5 ah battery. It’s definitely cool, but power stations are ridiculously overpriced.
What about when the batteries go bad/old?
Are they replaceable?
No, but they last for 10 years with daily use. I'd say that's a pretty good investment. Less than $70/year to use for the Power 1000.

Actually, it does charge a 2023 model Y LR, using the Tesla mobile charger does engage (lights green), but I would consider this a 'gas can' for Tesla. I'll create a video showing this in action when time permits
SDC cable is a bit gimmicky.. higher amperage just because it's a different type of proprietary connector.
