I think as a Wisconsin sports fan we've been let down so many times. We tell ourselves bad things are going so we are not disappointed again. Im glad Fickell and company do not think like the fan base. We're going to be good.
As the Ole Ball Coach said, "It's talken season". Hope you're right & we have a great season but will have to see it. So much will depend on QB play, either TVD or Locke.

For me, the tougher schedule is what keeps me from getting overly excited. Last season top tier was just OSU, then next tier Iowa and Wash St. This season it’s Bama & Oregon (both at home thankfully). Then Penn St, Iowa and USC. Then I think both Rutgers & Nebraska have elevated their game and both those are on the road. Then Evanston is a house of horrors even if it’s a temp field and we finish with the anything can happen rivalry game VS the neighboring turds. I need to see the D take proper tackling angles and not run themselves out of the play. Offensively, I need to see Renfro stay healthy and a big step forward in production from the TE room.
Ton of questions everywhere. It's the offseason, time to be optimistic for one's own team! Then reality sets in. The excitement for the badger fan is the new (but seasoned and well-regarded) staff now has a year of their system under the belt, and a much higher percentage of players experience in their system, or recruited to it.
Love your guest’s take on recruiting stars and recruiting. It’s true. You may get that 5 star guy or two, but, they may not work out too, or leave. So, great, offer them if you think they are a good fit, but always build relationships with all those 4 and 3 star guys. Always. Then sell Wisconsin to them including our commitment to development.
We need to consider that these new West Coast teams joining the Big Ten conference will be worn down throughout the year, facing a tougher schedule as well.
As Badger living 30 years in Huskerville, these fans are loyal, hungry and can’t help but suck the hype straw. They will be better, but are a year behind Badgers. We added better depth and are underplaying the hype. Badgers will shock B1G this year. Fick’s program is so much better in all phases. Keep beating down Li’l Red.
7-5. There are too many questions at qb and a tough schedule. They will struggle this season
I predict TVD will do very well. Longo's offense is designed to give a QB confidence. We will have far better receivers and an even more powerful running game.
Doing good everywhere but the most important position on the team, VD and Locke in a sock arent going to scare any team they face all year.
If we weren't so thin at center, I'd be much more optimistic. That said, we will upset either USC, Penn State, or both.
people are down because it was such an easy schedule and the way the offense played last year and still not an entrenched starting QB going against a pretty tough schedule so people are still excited but realistic about the situation

Tre Poteat is a 3-star, not a 4-star, and the coaches preferred other CBs. He was unlikely to come to Wisconsin.

i like Curtis' persective and general positivity, but let's not get carried away, this staff has absolutely lost plenty of recruits they've wanted. I mean they've had some commits decommit just this year, and others that never commit but they wanted. We just put them outta the brain and move on, which is fine.
I dont think the nebraska hype is disrespectful. in some ways nebraska was an easier job to walk into. expectations were lower and the roster already had higher upside athletes on it.
Wisconsin can't get no six second car. But they can get a 10 second car.
Clayton is a good get. I'm really happy we got him.
But FSU just got a top 50 Edge & is closing in on a 5 star top 10 edge. They also got a top 200 edge, & a 4 star UGA edge trans last year, plus a bunch of guys already on the team.
He wasn't a top priority for them. He was for us.
