@info logos, there's a link in the video description for the tour company we used. However, we found a good deal on groupon, so check there also. -Brian
I loved your video! I was in doubt if I go or not, but now I decided to go with Oceanair. Could you tell me if you choose the normal dunes or the higher ones? I don't know if the higher is a lot of emotion for me. Thanks!
Mariana Rossari Great question. We did the normal ones. There were still a lot of good sized dunes. We didn't feel like we missed out on anything. Have fun!
We used OceanAir Travels, but in communicating with the companies since then, I'd probably go with Oscar Knight now. They seem to run a much better operation. Links to both are in the video description.
I believe there are tours that let you drive, but that's not what we did so I can't tell you any details. There's a link in the video description to the tour company we used. Check their website and see if you can find an option where you can drive. We visited Dubai in October and we thought that was a great time to visit. -Brian
looks like fun im going nexts month with kids is it better to buy tickets for all these event before hand or buy as you go will it be more money and where do u suggest buying tickets to the desert and water parks
I put links in the description of this video so you can buy tickets to the desert safari beforehand. You need to reserve that before you go because there is limited space in each car so they sell out. You can get tickets to the waterparks when you go. No need to book those in advance. Look for a deal from your hotel though for the waterparks. A lot of them offer a discount. -Brian
Thanks for the great video! I'm traveling to Dubai in a few weeks, and have currently booked this tour (not sure if it's exactly the same company, but it looks like all the same itinerary / activity - I guess they all do it similarly). I was on the fence about the Dune Bashing (not a fan of roller coasters!), but I think I will give it a go! Appreciate the time and effort you put into creating the video :-)
We love roller coasters, but as long as you don't get car sick, we think you'll have a great time dune bashing. The biggest difference we noted between the companies is at the dinner. The tour we were with included all the extras like coffee, holding the falcon, henna, and wearing the traditional robes. Other companies provide the dinner and show, but charge a la carte for those extras. Hopefully yours is free! Have fun! -Brian
Everything in this video is included in the price of the ticket, and we paid about $60 USD (maybe 220 AED) per person. If you click on the OceanAir link in the video description, it will bring you to the exact tour we did, and it looks like you can get a discount right now. -Brian
We put some links in the video description. We booked through OceanAir Travels online to reserve a date, and then we paid the driver directly when he picked us up. Have fun! -Brian
Although we booked through Ocean Air, I'd probably recommend booking through Oscar Knight if you can get a good deal. Dune bashing/sand boarding part is pretty much the same through every tour company. It's the Bedouin Camp that's different (some charge for the extra stuff like holding the hawk or getting henna, whereas it's included with Oscar Knight). Some tours don't include sand boarding, so if that's important just make sure it's listed in the activities. Oscar Knight has been pretty responsive to emails if you need to ask them questions, so overall I'd say go with them. -Brian
Hi, Thanks for the video and its nice. I have a query and if you can answer ? I have wheel chair borne friends and can't walk. Can he go for this trip ?
I'm sure your friend can participate in parts of the trip. I don't know if he'll be able to go sandboarding. Although some people rode the board like a sled, so maybe he could do that. The tour companies we used are linked in the video description. I suggest you reach out to them and make sure they'll be able to accommodate your friend. -Brian

I went for the desert safari as well. Even though it was a different place with different performers, the program was the same. Your buffet looked better though ;)
Depending on where in Dubai you get picked up, it will take about 45 minutes to an hour to get out to the rest area/oasis. From that location, you're dune bashing in less than 5 minutes. -Brian
We don't know Rayna so we can't tell you which is better. All we can say is that our experience with OceanAir was fantastic and worth every penny. -Brian

Hello! First of all thanks for sharing. I'm traveling to Dubai next month and I've been searching all of the best things to do in the emirates. Desert Safari is something I have never tried and I'd really like to do it. I've seen that different companies provide this kind of tours, what I don't know is where exactly the dune bashing happens. In which part of the desert? I've seen that you're very close to Oman so I'd say you were somewhere close to Lahbab ?
We went past Lahbab and ended up in Sharjah. If you look up "safari minimart sharjah" in Google Maps, that's where the rest area was when we stopped at 0:42 in the video. The dunes were only 3 minutes away from there. -Brian
It's completely up to you. I don't remember tipping the driver at the end of the tour, but I think we paid a little more up front (I think we got a deal for $56 and gave him $60 because it was easier). From a quick search of some forums, it looks like half the people don't tip at all, and those who want to tip $5-$15 (15-50 AED) depending on how many are in your party. It's definitely not required or even requested, but I'm sure the driver would appreciate any additional support. -Brian
Everything in the car, yes. Not sure how you can avoid any of that. But everything else is optional. They stop for sandboarding, but a lot of people just watched. And at the Bedouin camp, you can choose what you eat and what you do. For example, we didn't do the henna or huka, but we did the things you saw in the video. -Brian
You can't leave early (I suppose, unless you booked the entire car). But you can do just the dune bashing with no camp, if you'd like that better. There are a lot of different options.
Yes. You let them know which hotel you're staying at and they pick you up. For us, they stopped at two other hotels to get the rest of the passengers in our car (there were six passengers plus the driver). They'll tell you exactly what time to be ready and they'll be there. -Brian
Perfect Little Planet nice!! I’m going on may, so I’m trying to find out what’s up before I go. Another question, do you think renting a car would be better than getting a taxi or an Uber?
We actually planned our trip around the metro, so we chose hotels that were near metro stations and got around that way. Taxis are relatively inexpensive if you're not going far, so it depends on where you're staying and where you're going. We never used an uber, so not sure how available they are there. I'd say renting a car is probably your best bet. -Brian
Thanks for the videos guys! I have to tell you though, if I don't mark favorite or don't mark like, it's for the simple fact that I'd forgotten. I have watched many of your videos and liked and favored them all and I'm sure there are many that I haven't gotten to yet. So just in case I ever forget to mark like or favorite, I feel about them all. I totally enjoy, you guys are cute and sweet and you are always smiling. So stay safe, enjoy life and keep on smiling! . Depending on the package you book, the price varies. The tour we took in this video was about $60 when we did it 3 years ago. There's a link to the tour in the video description. Looks like it's $69 right now. -Brian
We were there at the end of October and it was pretty hot (mid-90's F), especially when we were outside in the sunlight. November should be a little more comfortable, but I imagine still pretty hot. I'm sure it'll be so fun though! -Brian

That's the name of the little oasis we stopped at and the dune bashing is basically across the street from there. -Brian
Perfect Little Planet thank you so much for this video. I was looking to book the same experience with OceanAir travels and I was "on the fence" about them but now I am not. I am booking my tour today!
Sierra Bravo Juliet You're welcome! We were looking everywhere for a video like this and couldn't find one, so we really wanted to share our experience. Glad it helped you make a decision. Have fun!! -Brian
I was really nervous about this as I had heard/seen some freaky photos of giant scorpion-spider things. These are not completely legit and we didn't see a single scorpion. I did get bit by an angry, normal-sized ant. That was the worst of it. Definitely don't let scorpions deter you from doing a tour in the desert-it's so fun! -Isa
There are actually a lot of vegetarian options in Dubai. At the camp, there are a few for sure. You can go back for seconds and thirds, so you can eat as much as you want even if there are only a few options. -Brian
@@PerfectLittlePlanet A difficult question to answer, India is a diverse country ,it has 22 official languages, so every turn you take there is a new culture, i myself dont know about them fully,if you want to see valleys and mountains and great scenic beauty, then go to Kashmir,Himachal and Uttarakhand( home of himalaya ranges),if you want to see hindu king's past and desert ,go to Rajasthan, if want to see largest delta(sundarbans) and real india,go to west bengal, if want to see back water and world's oldest language and culture go to tamil nadu and kerala. If you want to see history and modern mix, go to hyderabad and mysore.you can see oldest civilisation(indus valley),highest mt. ranges(himalaya), largest delta(sundarbans),oldest language(tamil and sanskrit),origin of sikh, bhuddhist, hindu. All in india ,but i am sure every corner will amaze you. But do come once,it would be a cheap trip for you.

Ocean Air Travels. A link to the tour we took is in the description. We highly recommend them.
Have fun!! -Brian
is there any scorpions
I was really nervous about this as I had heard/seen some freaky photos of giant scorpion-spider things. These are not completely legit and we didn't see a single scorpion. I did get bit by an angry, normal-sized ant. That was the worst of it. Definitely don't let scorpions deter you from doing a tour in the desert-it's so fun! -Isa
they dislike humans .. so they go away from tourists regions

i'm a native Arabian who goes to the desert every now and then

You're welcome. Thanks for watching! -Brian
Yoo how the vegetarian options for food
There are actually a lot of vegetarian options in Dubai. At the camp, there are a few for sure. You can go back for seconds and thirds, so you can eat as much as you want even if there are only a few options. -Brian

hey,you ought to come to india once.....
We would LOVE to come to India. Where do you recommend?
Thank you for such a thorough response! Everything you mentioned sounds fascinating and exciting. We'll definitely consider them all when we start planning a trip to India. Thank you so much for all your recommendations! -Brian
Wow beautiful vlog
Thank you so much!
Price per person plz
I didn't want to put a price in the video, since it will change over time. I put a link in the video description to the tour company so you can check prices for different tours. Right now (Oct 2018), the price is $62USD per person.
Nice one
Thanks!

Yeah, we really enjoyed the camp. -Brian
