I directed Norbert in a production of GREASE (he played Danny Zuko) for Minnesota Repertory Theatre in 1990. He had just graduated with his BFA degree in theatre from Webster University in St. Louis. He was a natural talent even then. He loved to dance, and he used to say “I’m not a singer, I’m an actor who sings”. That same summer he also played The Duke in MAN OF LA MANCHA and Greg (the blind guy) in BLEACHER BUMS.
It’s because the GREASE gig was before he was doing Actors Equity Association level professional work. It was with Minnesota Repertory Theatre, just after he graduated with his BFA degree in acting from Webster University.
Dancing used to be better around 2009. the speedy stiff dancing looked like he was attached to a power tool. now hes just lightly bopping about. Maybe its cuz this was a talk show.
Norbert Leo Butz stole every second of this show. I believe he's one of the greatest of all musical comedy performers.
this old guy got swag
That's Norbert Leo Butz. He's not old.
He’s 44 here.
Not old, makeup.

Really? Grease isn’t in his theatre credits, *hmm…odd*
Omfg how has it been 10 years already?!
No. It's been 12 years.
1:17 is where his belt decides to detach his upper and lower body and just make them independent from eachother
West Boca High School put on this play and it was sooo great, the cast was terrific this song was a favorite.
"Oh my goodness! Huh? What?! Hello!! How about that???" lol
I just noticed that the image is flipped.
Yes, All of the choreography seems to be mirror image of how they actually did it.
I agree with groovygirl23. He is a genius of a performer.

We are going to perform this for our musical our highschool is producing. This is amazing although i think i slightly prefer our choreography
ahhh! so hot!!
Is this video mirror image? Everything is opposite the way they performed it anywhere else. Even the side Norbert had his gun is backwards.
It is idk why

Didn't this show open in 2011?
Hey, for a guy with a fused spine his moves are unbelievable. For a guy with a perfect spine this would be amazing.
