But Watching a sens game now hurts, it's like watching a childhood friend being gutted by a hobo. I can actually feel my heart sink while watching, I had to stop, I could feel myself becoming more and more miserable.
I left the team for the same reason. At least Melnyk's death gives me hope that the new core won't get traded for nothing to save money in a few years.
And now Melnyk has finally left us. I am not sure if the team will still be associated with the family after this season, but whatever direction the new owner decides to take them in, I hope they can at least be competitive again.

This dude was fully willing to make the Hamilton Tigers or Quebec Nordiques a reality saying this man "wanted" the Sens in Ottawa is a stretch. He'd have moved the team the second he got a green light from a Board of Governers vote, I don't think reminders of how the North Stars and Whalers moved are necessary.

He could never get over the hump so eventually he was fired, but I think he may have been the best coach in team history.
