Man, X8 was totally going in the right direction...I really wish this game sold better so we could've seen where the story was going.
Agreed. I did read however that one of the reasons it didn’t sell as well as because they limited production of copies - thanks to being concerned it wouldn’t sell well after the bad impression X7 made.
X8 actually support double mode, but the producer code on the shield, simple modification of a west memory data can support double mode, and support double handle, keyboard double control respectively control 2 roles

Here are a few things I learned after watching this video:
1. If you find Rare Metal, remember to bring it back to the Lab.
2. Spam attack is super OP (spinny thingy of Zero, unlimited ammo of Axl)
3. Vile is (suspiciously) similar to Boba Fett (or Jango Fett from Star Wars)
4. This guy is either the best Maverick Hunter of all time or he walks through the stages like they are his own backyard.
Maybe Vile is an inspiration of Jango Fett (Megaman X to X3) and Boba (X8).

The first bulletpoint is seamless, godlike i genuinely laughed so hard after this

As someone who casually played megaman for 12 years myself since I was 9. The stuff this guy does is insane. He managed to platform so damn well with both axel and x. He even did the bamboo forest stage mech no damage XD. I managed to get nearly all no damage run but this guy is at a whole new level

I really feel like they tried to incorporate what might be a transition into the Mega Man Zero, Toru Nakayama-style reploid design with this entry. Well, this and Command Mission. I mean just look at Lumine and tell me you don't see some Copy X in there somewhere. I really respect the work put into this game, and I'm glad I still own it.

The final boss scene and stage against final Lumine is one of the coolest boss scene to me. I can't believe a 2000s game would have such an amazing graphic and can be comparable to today's games, despite people complaning about the gameplay

That's one of the things that makes me love this franchise so much: even after playing the games for many years, you can still learn new ways to play the game and items you didn't even knew existed in it!

Always found it odd that Vile's trademark was using ride armor but even in the stage which revolves around them, he never uses one. They leaned too heavily on the boba fett inspiration and forgot how how Vile and Vile Mk.II were all about the RAs.

Even the ride armor didn't suffer damage. That's a feat in of itsself
high quality game play as usual man the rocket ruins stage still has one of the best tracks in the X series up there with, highway incident, sky lagoon (X ver.), blaze heatnix, frost walrus, and bubble crab
Blaze Heatnix in Megaman X6 is obviously the hardest stage in MegaMan X franchise.

Layer is my favourite supporter, shes so ugh. Jokes aside I remember playing this game for hours until I sleep and repeat. My childhood is blessed, knowing I got a copy of this game unkowingly from some random store, only to find out how scarce its copies are.
I remember being small maybe 9 or 10 (don’t know when the game came out, I’m 22 now) and playing this game on my PlayStation on the weekends, so much good memories 😢
I can see several call backs to previous games.
The very last game of the series should have the antagonist resurrect all the mavericks from all the games (chill penguin, bit, byte, vile, high max, gate etc which would come up to 64 mavericks minimum) and a super sigma where the mavericks are updated and buffed up (like what Arch-vile does in DOOM ETERNAL) in story line and to accommodate for today's' game play.
When you find an armour capsule, it should be an entire armour set from a previous game and all the ride armours are back.
It can be a sort of a wwe lumberjack thing where all the mavericks are back for the hunters which will eventually be defeated but the hunters die due to exhaustion and/or irreparable damage.
You just described X challenge in a nutshell

I've beaten X8 countless times and this video taught me I can fire while charging the X-Buster and Axl has a dodge roll.
1:05:14 if you look closely the penultimate shot from vile just disappears in zero, like it should move until it hits a wall or a target, not sure but he might used cheat to don't take that damage.
