  • Island Eddy is a small island at the inner, eastern end of Galway Bay. The boat is a traditional Irish boat called a currach or 'naomhog' in Irish. There are many different currach designs, This particular currach design comes from Achill Island off the coast of Mayo. Modern currachs have a fiberglass coating on the hull.
