This is the closest we can get to a Tales of the Abyss port to mobile devices aside from the 3ds.

Uh... don't you think the background music is a little off for this battle scene? It's a happy tune, but these 2 guys are trying to kill each other. :(

    • @adela6715
      @adela6715 3 роки тому +6

I always found it more emotional and uplifting with underlying sadness, rather than happy. It's grand and heroic, and plays during a very important moment, at that point in the game you should also be very familiar with its leitmotif, which makes it feel like the culmination of everything. Which it is, especially for Asch and Luke's relationship, since the leitmotif is used to represent them.
But music is very subjective, so it's interesting to see how other people might interpret it.
I don't know if you played Tales of the Abyss, so I didn't go into the details and circumstances of their fight to avoid spoilers. (I also apologise for getting so poetic up there.)

@@adela6715 I appreciate your comment and I'm thankful you clarified some concerns.
I heard Abyss also had "mean" critics saying the story is just bland. But who cares about them?
I'll be honest. Abyss is okay, but I'm here because of that Abyss fan who was making fun of Zestiria in a Tales of Arise trailer saying Zestiria looked worse than PS2 Tales. One fan told me Abyss is PS2 so the gamer must be an Abyss fan.
True she is an Abyss fan.
I came to look at the gameplay. New gamers are right, they are confused and stopped being curious about Tales because the fandom is telling them the older games looked better- but graphically speaking, they really aged. They find the comments a little "dishonest" so they stopped relying on them.
I'm not saying "aged" is bad. It's not. But it's not "better" otherwise, there's no reason to upgrade to PS4 or PS5. I read the history of PS2... it's the highest-selling PS but only because Sony was able to scale the market and pull the rug from under Microsoft. They lost all their gains when PS3 came. And PS4 is probably the most successful console released since it was used longer.
Going back to Abyss, other reviewers already said the PS2 comparison is unfair and simply untrue... based on nostalgia for older Tales. I don't know why explaining that as a possible reason for the unfair comparison made that gamer so upset as to post so many insults (the longest I've seen in 5 years) against Zestiria.
I was explaining, not badmouthing PS2 Abyss nor her, but the reaction from her was toxic cancer.
Some rabid Symphonians and Vesperians also hated Zestiria... but the kinder ones already apologized for those. I told them they shouldn't apologize for scum. The offenders should do that on their own.
The apology is not important. I just want to know if Abyss fans also hate us. :(
Abyss is probably my favorite among older Tales games... and I became a fan of Abyssal Chronicles when I learned it was supervised by a fan who's a doctor now... That online site is fair in writing articles on Zestiria- unlike r/tales reddit which badmouths almost everything except Vesperia (the fact it's 99.2% Vesperian shouldn't be an excuse).
It's really dishonest of Yuki_Anesa, that gamer, to make fun of Zestiria and insult it to high heavens because of her nostalgia for Abyss.
In that long list of insults, she said the "majority of the Tales community" find Zestiria the "worst Tales game." And I should "fvck off" because "I'm twisted" and she is "entitled to hate anything." She says Zestiria doesn't deserve any respect- and if I want that, I should watch what I say (meaning not disagree with the hate).
I was just disagreeing to her notion that Zestiria is lower than a PS2 game graphically. I'm also confused because in an article by Gamingbolt where Zestiria dlc was called "terrible," Tales fans defended the game as "not grindy" at all and the dlc as not a scam because Vesperia and Xillia have it and they're just for those who want it, it's not important in playing the main title.
I wonder where the defenders went. Even in Steam it was defended by so many Tales fans who said the COMBAT WAS SMOOTHER than in other Tales games and the gameplay was in fact the only advantage... because the story was a simple adventure story to save the world.
Now the fans are saying different things. They say the combat was the worst.
Why are old Tales gamers putting us down when we did nothing to hurt the other Tales games... and in fact I came here because of Zestiria not the older games?
Like, I may be Zesty fan, but I know Arise is an improvement of Zestiria PS3... It's also clear that PS4 Zestiria and Arise are so much alike. They're the same quality and definition.
Excuse the long comment, but I feel that you might be a more honest and objective fan. I'm tired of the liars in youtube warping public opinion because they have "idiotic supporters." Please tell me your honest opinion... and why the Tales community seems to be hating a game it once defended. Zestiria fans never hated an older Tales game. Coming from Abyss, your side might shed light on this...
      Thank you so much.

      for context:
this music called "meaning of birth" and it shows how our protagonist luke accepted himself as a replica of the guy with long hair he was fighting and be his own person despite being a clone that's why it sounds cheery cuz its acceptance

@@deanxile Yes, I love Meaning of Birth- it's in my playlist for Tales since forever. I know it's also the theme of the entire game. The song is perfect on its own (I'm not like that White Light critic who went to a White Light video to say Superfly's vocals are off).
But is the song playing during the battle itself? I haven't played Abyss... I came thru Zestiria- and I bought all the Tales released after that. It's hard to get a good upload of Abyss...
I was thinking maybe there's an Abyss battle music that will go with the fight scene much better (not the guitar sounds in Vesperia... please... something like Rising Up or a battle-sounding background?)
I love Meaning of Birth playing when the mood is a bit more relaxed and subdued... because that song has a poignant meaning in some ways.
