Dang brother, first of all, much respect for you as a builder and as a person, so please take what I’m going to say as constructive and coming from a friend. That being said, you are absolutely correct about that Hyway cylinder being kinda “meh” in terms of power... unless that wood is like outrageously hard, that saw seems to be having a little harder time than one would suspect... I’m well aware of how much power a saw will gain once broke in, but I still think that it has lots of room for improvement like you’ve already stated. Opening the muffler will most likely make a good difference. This video was eye opening for me as I’ve always been the builder who blindly swapped all my stock top ends for Hyway titanikel big bore kits, (660’s, 460’s which free ported, and 372’s to name a few that I’ve done) and has coincided with my growing distrust of big bore kits in general, my most recent 044 kit build has done much to prove this theory to me, my stock 50mm farmertec top end absolutely rips!! I did get lucky and was supplied the D shaped combustion chamber though. Thank you so much for sharing all this important info with us! Keep it up brother!
If you get a chance watch last night's video I added a port to the muffler it seems better I'll find out but I know it needs more..my 440 kit had the same jug and would honestly outperform this hyway big bore 😃
@@JandSChainsaw well that’s not exactly a fair fight... whatever magic spell that was cast upon them dadgum 440 kits over there in China has turned them into absolute wood eating machines! So we gotta give the “mighty” 660’s some slack 😂😂 by the way, I did watch your subsequent video and yeah it did sound better with the opened up muffler. Makes me want to go checkup on the last 660 I sold that I slapped a titanikel popup kit On. From the jump it was cutting like a emo teen girl, about as close to “too much” compression as you can get. Not Sure how it’s progressed as it’s been ran though.
For some reason I didn’t get a notification so I’m late to the party. Just happened acrossed this video. UA-cam thinks I watch too many saw videos I guess.

Is this the 660 they now offer that comes with the upgrade cylinder and carb and whatnot?
