How to Paint Gold Pots, Shiny metal | Relaxing Time Lapse Oil Painting Video #34

When painting reflective surface the key is to keep checking your values. Put your colours down and don't worry about shading. The values (Lights and darks) are important and should be in place. Once all colours are added everything will fall in place. I add the lightest value while putting the colours in, but leave the highlights for the end.

Thank you. I mostly used primary colours and mixed them to make colours. I used burnt umber, primary cadmium yellow, primary blue, red and white. Use white at the end for highlights.
