The year they played this Robert was 59, Jimmy was 63 and John Paul was 61. They sound just like they did in their early 20's. Jason did a great job on the drums; I'm sure his father was smiling from the other side.
no fill in John Paul Jones original member and arranger of led Zeppelin, on keyboard creating the orchestra sounds from the original recording and playing bass with his feet, brilliant
I believe Robert Plant was 59 years old at this time, in 2007. In my opinion, he never stopped improving. His vocals in this performance are truly incredible!
I still live in those days I refuse and will not comply to move forward!! Since you asked the question.. he ( Robert Plant ) was 59 yrs old during Celebration Day concert. And at 72 now he still a bad ass vocalist ! He deserves a STATUE!
JPJ was really the most valuable member, music wise. His skills with the bass keyboards and arranging led to the band being as adventurous and fearless as it was. He was all about the music.
I was lucky enough to meet John Bonham a week before he passed away , I met Jason the same day back in the 70"s Jason was a brilliant Motorcross rider and we where at a MX meeting in a little place called Rhayader , I've also been lucky enough to meet Robert plant when he played in a pub near where he lived in Newtown Powys , he just turned up one night set up and played for the locals , fantastic memory's 👍
The greatest rock band in history! I've been listening to them from their beginning when I was a young teenager. My kids grew up listening to them and love their music as well.
Better live if you ask me ✌😎 & that's J.P Jones on Keyboards ( Bass player ... original member ) It's sad he gets lost a lot in all of this greatness !
I saw Zep in their heyday. They had no lead-up band. They brought down the thunder and rocked the Heavens for three hours. I'm not that old. I'm a time traveler.
The keyboardist is John Paul Jones. He’s not a fill in, he’s the original he just dyed his hair. There’s a video of Jason Bonham jamming along to a video of his dad playing Moby Dick as a tribute which is awesome.
Plant (vocals)was born in 1948 he was 59 at that concert. Page(guitar) was born in 1944 so he was 63. John Paul Jones ( keyboard, bass and anything with strings) was born in 1946, so he was 61 and John son Jason on the drum was 41…born 1966. The baby….
This was their reunion in 2007. Jason Bonham is making his dad proud with the rest of the original group. It was so amazing to see them together again.
What John did was amazing and his son can too. I don't know who is better John or Jason but the fact Jason honors his daddy's talent by playing the songs his daddy played with the same band is awesome. Almost like a fairy tale but there he is doing it.
Let it be said that this one-off benefit concert holds the world record for the highest demand for tickets with 20 million ticket requests crashing the online booking service. They had to set up a lottery system to allocate the sales.
Bonham is a powerful drummer you can FEEL THE ENERGY IN HIS WHOLE BODY!! HE BOUNCES HIGH IN THAT SEAT AND YOU FEEL HE COULD FLY IF ONLY HIS FEET WEREN'T ATTACHED TO THE DRUMS 🤔🥁🥰🤯 It is plain to see he is obviously so proud to be in the position that his Dad once sat in. There can't be a better feeling than that for a young man.😁
Kashmir is the place in which the band imagines they are conversing with the old local prophets, about revelations and the coming of the Messiah. The sun burns, the sand dries their face. Led Zeppelin are in a dreamlike delirium, in a mystical reality. The revelation will then become a prayer, an invocation, awaiting a direction.
I saw these guys in the '70s with Bonham and have to say out of all the live versions this concert is their best concert ever. When they were young you could see their energy on stage. Now they are older and it's like a fine wine it ages so well. Jason fills in for his dad so well. I guess having John teach his son makes it awesome. Jason also knows every song in detail. Jones had said that in an interview. When the band wanted to play again Jason had to try out like everyone. John and Jones were the backbones of Zeppelin. When they started practicing for the concert Jason actually knew every beat which amazed Jones and the others.
Jason has every black market video ever made of Zep. When they were rehearsing, for Celebration day, Jimmy would be trying to remember something and Jason would say, when you were in Japan in 71 you played it this way. So his knowledge was a big help when rehearsing. And I believe he's using his dad's original drum kit. ❤️
Bro. John Paul Jones was playing the keyboards. Definitely not a fill in. Behind the scenes, he was the master. The stars aligned when he, Robert Plant, Jimmy Page and John Bonham found each other. Greatest ensemble in rock history. Great video!!
I'm pretty sure this concert was in 2007; so, that would have put the three living original members in their sixties. They are in their seventies now, as am I. Our generation's music is still the best!
Love me some Led Zepp! My cousins turned me on to them in the 70's. I love the "Robert Plant Hop". When the music gets to him he hops up and down. He's always done that and did it here. There will NEVER be another band with their drive, talent and uniqueness.
All Zep members are there except drummer, no one can fill his shoes except his son. Robert can still scream it out in his sixties! Almost like this version better then when they were young. Gives me goosebumps! Thank you peace ✌️
@@ryanjsgrandma2009 Although, Robert Plant on Yoyoka, "I know where she can get a good job." ua-cam.com/video/-XYr6H2mGxk/v-deo.html She's only got a lot better since then.

If I'm not mistaken, along with all the meaning behind this reunion performance, and Jason Bonham playing for the ages (and his dad), and the deeply seasoned skill they all displayed, it was the last performance, ever, for Zep. What a simply magisterial way to honor the fans, and their legacy, and bid adieu to Zep.
The studio version of this is the greatest rock song of all time. And this live version is totally badass--especially given they're in their early 60s!
On keyboards is John Paul Jones and he is "NO" fill in, he is the original everything, plays bass, keyboards, back up vocals, plays a mean mandolin, him and Jason are the backbone of this song. It amazes me he can keep playing like that throughout the whole song and never miss a note or lose the beat, like a machine.
I like that John Paul Jones has more video time than usual….he has pure talent….plays bass, piano, organ, synchronizer….occasional vocals….he is the soul of Led Zep…
Nope, that was definitely all the former members, except Jason on drums taking the place of his late father and he blew everyone away. This was a rare reunion that will never happen again. That’s what makes this concert so special. If you get around to it, that whole concert was unbelievable! The best I have seen. Thanks for the reaction. 👏
I've never heard anyone react to 'For Your Life' from Celebration Day.Song originally appeared on the album Presence and had never been played live before. This was the only time ,obviously, that they played it live and the groove is fantastic

As old as they were here...in their 60s...still the best band ever!! JPJ on keys was the original member too. Just the drummer us deceased...his son fills in great here!
John Paul Jones, wow. He and Page were studio musicians in the mid-60's, Jones produced Donovan's first two albums and Jimmy of course in the Yardbirds. Truly a encredible musician. Zeppelin could have never gotten where they were in 70's. Zeppelin for that matter where they without each other. When John Bonham died they didn't think twice about how they they would go on. It was just over..
Celebration Day is a concert film and live album by the English rock band Led Zeppelin, recorded at the Ahmet Ertegun Tribute Concert on 10 December 2007, in The O2 Arena, London. The film was given a limited theatrical release starting on 17 October 2012, and was released on several home audio and video formats on 19 November 2012. The performance, the film, and album releases have been widely praised.
