i've heard this song before, but this is the first time watching the video. i was so wrapped up in it that when you paused i realized there's a lump in my throat and my eyes are misty. i was on my way too a full-on cry. this should be played at every climate change event.
This song, this video, this message....is transcendent. I won't even...y'all saw it....I can't. All I can say - is he had Andre Crouch's choir behind him...just... This song...takes you HIGH. By the time he gets to those "what abouts"...man...it's over. This song makes my musical soul levitate. Every time.

The man is standing in a burned down forest. We saw historical wildfires that looked EXACLTY where he’s standing “red skies” all over the world from unprecedented wildfires. within the last few years. If that’s not prophetic enough I don’t know what is man.

Man Earth Song is a classic. You mentioned it might be his most impactful or powerful song. It’s definitely one of them, but I don’t think I would say it’s the most because when it comes to these kind of songs from him, I don’t think there’s one that stands above the rest as most impactful or most powerful. Along with Earth Song, I think Man In The Mirror and Heal The World are all probably on par with each other.
Also wanna say the year Michael Jackson died Bone Thugs did a tribute to him called What Have We Done which sampled Earth Song. You should react to it, it was fantastic. The full version though, the one that came out on Krayzie’s Fixtape 3. Not the shortened version. I still remember the night the fanbase heard it for the the first time. Everybody got chills when it got to the end and Bone started singing Tha Crossroads on the track.
Michael was always about bringing the world together and healing the world. this video was no different.

He was absolutely amazing. And like you said, he sings with passion and full of emotion. Your reaction was expected, like any reaction, not only to this particular video alone, but others by MJ lol. He's the only guy I have ever known to make even the biggest, toughest and baddest grown men cry, scream and faint! The amount of hearts he has touched around the whole globe, not just with his music, but with environmental issues and child poverty etc... Just... an all-round incredible guy!

To be fair to Jarvis it wasn’t the message in the video he objected to, it was MJs performance at the awards show where the incident happened, he thought Michael presented himself like a sort of messiah, dressed in all white surrounded by adoring children with his arms stretched out like a crucified Christ, Jarvis thought it was in very bad taste and overly self indulgent, tbh I didn’t like the performance either, he should of played the video to Earthsong and sang a different song

@@urmom777 Yeah, it was just disrespectful. Even if he didn’t like the performance, who is he to have the right to interrupt it? Just don’t watch, or complain about it in the post-show interviews. I imagine Michael had to watch numerous performers over the years that he had issues with for whatever reason, but he’d never have interrupted how they chose to perform.

I feel you on this, but I always said that "Man In The Mirror" was my favorite video because it was his most socially conscious. Many younger people don't get the full effect of the video because it shows actual events & people in history, but for us who were around during a lot of those events, it's almost too hard to watch.
