This, so fucking much! Staying up late for MLGs, watching almost every match, posting in live threads. Waking up early for the GSLs. So many good memories man. I'm glad I was part of being at least a viewer while it was good.
This statement he made actually tells a lot about what competitive games are about. They are a way to measure yourself against another person, to show your superiority on that mutual ground. Satisfaction by symbolic domination.
I really appreciate you putting this together Geoff! I actually met you with your wife at the midnight release for SC2 with Husky up here in Oregon. I knew who you guys were too and I should have taken a picture. So happy to still see you supporting something you love.
I was immediately blown away by Idra!! I didnt even recognize him at first until i read the title. Phd in physics is pretty bad ass, and weight lifting! He looks great and.. happy. So much happier than ive ever seen him before. Good for him, if you see this Greg keep it up!
Not sure if he'll see it, but I'm glad to see Idra is happy and doing well. He was always fun to watch and even if he's moving on from gaming he left behind a legacy(some good, some bad, some funny) GL with the rest of your life my dude.
Oh my god, it's every person who I have enjoyed hearing from on Sc2 shows over the last.....forever. You have each provided countless hours of entertainment over the years, and I thank you for that. Keep being fucking amazing. For those that are interested, the TL attack that they are talking about was the first episode of that awesome show. Pretty sure the game against suppy was the first one of the video. Can find it on YT still I'm pretty sure. Also, I see that the overlay is basically the mirror of the ITG overlay back in the day, with host in the smallest window at the bottom, Wheat would be very disappointed Geoff, you have obviously learned nothing. >.< Damn we got a question from Anna too, now the only thing that is is holding this show back from becoming the perfect Starcraft show is Greg coming up with a creative yet brutal way to insult someone and for Dan get hammered in an NASL series after missing GM right before the show starts. The thing I really want to know is, with Brood War Remastered out, will we finally get the finals of the Ascension tournament?
the same feeling artosis has looking back towards BW, ive got with wc3 and sc2. coming from wc3 to sc2, then switching back to wc3, after all 3 expansions brought me so much more understanding of RTS games.
I met nOny briefly whilst running a half marathon. Id love to see him and hug him. That was one of the most exciting 2 seconds in my life on or near a beach man. What a sweet amatureToSs. I ran by and yelled nONY BiiiiGGgGg FAaaaANNn?!n!!
Thank you for upping this here! I like Incontrol but I am not really watching his twitch so subscribing would be too much - but I really wanted to see this show.
I would've never imagined that I would miss a person I've never met in real life but evey time I see a video with Geoff I just get really sad... He was such a good guy
man, this is so nostalgic you wouldn't believe. I remember watching all of the games and interviews from these guy, its so awesome to finally see them all again, just like old times.
my 300.000+ replays i had gave me such a nice boost in sc1, i even traded some "old replays" of pros vs new reppacks Nony as example 1 week before the final vs cloud he gave me his whole autoreplayfolder with THOUSEND of replays saying i am not allowed to give it away because cloud coud steal stuff, but that improved me SOOO MUCH Nony rly boosted my game with that so much ... also alot of media vs media games was in it from where he observerd xD Also white-ra did send me replaypack every week per email xD i loved it so much xD I still have replays from the start from like fisheye and co xD replays was such a treasure ^^ in one of the packs white-ra lost like 10 games streight in a row vs julyzerg and from watching that my zvp exploded in skill xD
lol this is the sickest video. got me remembering so many stories. had to turn my shelter internet on to pitch in. at my first wcg qual in like 2003 i was vs marshal (some old protoss player you guys prol remember) in some janitors closet at a best buy. was like 120 degrees everybody was dying and smelled like balls. so anyway i get to the semis or finals vs him and i was losing pretty badly. well, can't let that happen. so i had my friend knock my keyboard off the desk and used that as an excuse to get the match replayed. admin went with it. forced us to replay the match. i got stomped an extra two times. doesn't top porn in a cab but it came close. karma hit me back though -- speaking of yosh, i had to play vs him in finals of 2004 quals in the bay area. that piece of shit rigged a special map so he could place a tank in the corner of a map we played where it wasn't supposed to be that allowed it to hit your main cc. knocked me out. admin didn't care. what you guys probably don't know is that lastshadow was yosh's little underling bitch and taught him how to rig maps too which is why ls got caught later doing it. big circle jerk. awesome people, awesome memories, best game.
I wish that this podcast could talk about the possibilities of what Starcraft could be, or talking about the recent tournaments and metas for starcraft II or talk about the Starcraft RM scene now that it's out. This podcast kind of made me depressed talking about "the good ole' days". Make it more upbeat! Maybe even adding some structure to the content would help me follow it. Love the idea though!
@Artosis Mistrzzz was never proven of cheating. He even showed vods to prove his skills at that time. And I think you don't understand irony in his behaviour. He is loved in Poland
I love the production tab. A huge bit of the fun of watching SC2 would be gone without it. That too have chanced over time tho. funnily enough, it was a bigger deal in WOL and HOTS for me than now.
God, I miss you so much Geoff....
such a mix of emotions seeing this. i miss the old days around 2011, i loved them so much. RIP incontrol you are missed
i would love to go back to 2011-2013, gold days... since 2020 everything is just turning to be shit
Geoff you will be sorely sorely missed
Seconded
now we have no one to update us on IdrA :(
I really really need 2011 to come back. Best time for gaming ever! Watching day9 dailies, State of the game and laddering like crazy!
Where u at? hvordan går det med ggwp?
Tja.. har ikke vært aktiv på lenge. Bare vanlig gamernoob som resten av folket :P
(For the rest of you) See?! Just a mention of old times with great heroes puts me in touch with awesome people from the past. #BringBackThePast
This, so fucking much! Staying up late for MLGs, watching almost every match, posting in live threads. Waking up early for the GSLs. So many good memories man. I'm glad I was part of being at least a viewer while it was good.
ya second that. Watching sc2 back in those days was so awesome. The smaller tournaments too. Great times great players.
"starcraft was just a way to beat people" Idra 2017.
timestamp?
This statement he made actually tells a lot about what competitive games are about. They are a way to measure yourself against another person, to show your superiority on that mutual ground. Satisfaction by symbolic domination.

Idra looks healthy!! Shame there's no Tasteless and Day9 as well, but I guess more of their stories are already out there so makes sense.

Please make more of these!! :D
This makes me so happy and nostalgic
This was so good. Thx for putting it together Geoff!
Plz do more! maybe rotate the cast to go through different peoples stories or more of these boys.
omg I loved their stories about how they just took a huge dump all over the cheaters at in-person tournaments!! so good
Every Part of me wishes this was a regular thing but I doubt it. Really brought me back!
the same feeling artosis has looking back towards BW, ive got with wc3 and sc2. coming from wc3 to sc2, then switching back to wc3, after all 3 expansions brought me so much more understanding of RTS games.

Thank you for upping this here! I like Incontrol but I am not really watching his twitch so subscribing would be too much - but I really wanted to see this show.

God damn they have grown, expecially Idra. Its the first time Idra behaves and acts mature.
lol this is the sickest video. got me remembering so many stories. had to turn my shelter internet on to pitch in. at my first wcg qual in like 2003 i was vs marshal (some old protoss player you guys prol remember) in some janitors closet at a best buy. was like 120 degrees everybody was dying and smelled like balls. so anyway i get to the semis or finals vs him and i was losing pretty badly. well, can't let that happen. so i had my friend knock my keyboard off the desk and used that as an excuse to get the match replayed. admin went with it. forced us to replay the match. i got stomped an extra two times. doesn't top porn in a cab but it came close. karma hit me back though -- speaking of yosh, i had to play vs him in finals of 2004 quals in the bay area. that piece of shit rigged a special map so he could place a tank in the corner of a map we played where it wasn't supposed to be that allowed it to hit your main cc. knocked me out. admin didn't care. what you guys probably don't know is that lastshadow was yosh's little underling bitch and taught him how to rig maps too which is why ls got caught later doing it. big circle jerk. awesome people, awesome memories, best game.
