it's not from Jason's point of view, this is like someone stalking Jason from behind and in a movie or games it's called a second person point of view, if this movie is from Jason's point of view this movie looks like Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon (2006) or Maniac (2012) sometimes from the victim's point of view but almost always from the killer's point of view and shows his cruelty in first person detail and therefore this kind of point of view is very rare in a movie, in my opinion this production house of is gambling and if this movie is successful maybe other productions house will try to make a movie like this again
@@asepmedan1549 I didn’t mean literally from Jason’s pov (like a found footage film), I meant from his perspective, as in the camera follows Jason stalking his victims, with dialogue phasing in and out as he moves from person to person, so essentially you will get a complex plot from the characters in the background (who would be the main characters in a regular film) while the camera follows the killer moving around them, and in some instances watching from a distance, far enough that you can’t hear what is being said so you need to infer based off of body language. but you never see or hear the full context of what ever story they’re going through, so you will essentially need to infer what ever drama, romance, or comedy os happing to them. As the camera follows Jason as he moves from victim to victim observing them before killing them towards the end. (It would be kind of like that one episode of It’s always sunny where there stuck in the house, but with less context) That’s what I mean from his perspective, I do not mean literally his point of view.
@@asepmedan1549 I said from Jason’s perspective (as in the camera follows him), not literally his point of view (as in like a found footage film where it is literally from the point of view of a character) I have always wanted to see a Friday the 13 film of Jason stalking his victims watching them and hearing or seeing snippets of their stories as he moves from victim to victim as the camera follows him moving around. Basically it would be like that one episode of it’s always sunny where they are stuck in the house, but with less context sometimes. As I imagine times where Jason is watching his victims from a distance far enough so that you can’t hear what is being said so you as the view need to infer their story from the body language and acting alone. Essentially the camera follows jason as he stalks his victims, seeing each of their stories as he moves from one to another. One story could be a drama like a teen learning she’s pregnant and not mowing how to deal with it, another could be a relationship drama as a couple starts arguing in the background, you never hear what they’re saying but only see them getting angry at each other towards the end before making up, another could a gay romance as two characters are trying to hid their love affair from their friends, and another could just be a stoner comedy something like Cheech and Chong. You only ever see snippets of the individual stories as the camera follows Jason as he moves around the victims, you never get full context for anything, and occasionally dialogue will phase out as the background characters walk out of hearing range, forcing you to fill in the blanks from just body language occasionally. This perspective is called Second person point of view and it has been done quite often in films, especially for a lot of lesser known films. I think this perspective would be an interesting way to film a slasher film. That’s what I meant from his perspective (the camera following him) not literally from his POV. But I also imagine more dinamic camera movements as well so the camera will track around Jason from time to time like, best way to explain it is like a one track sequence think of the film Birdman or the one track from old boy but the camera will occasionally change its orientation so on occasion it will move slowly around jason as he watches or the camera will slowly move further back as jason kills some moving passed another victim stoping behind her, so that we are look at her back as she is watching Jason Kill one her her friends (basically switching to her perspective briefly), then Jason looks up at her, she turns around and runs off camera as the camera stays on Jason Walking towards it, swinging around to his back as he walks passed the camera, then it will either follow him again, or it will stay fixed in its position watching Jason walk further away and kill his victim a little further away. I hope I’m explaining this well enough. I envision a one take tracking shot with complex movements like Kubrick the shining, the protector, children of men, episode three of Kidding or La Ronde or Victoria, (or like Macbeth and 1917, haven’t seen these yet but I’ve heard they also do one tracks) combined with a non linear storytelling as it tracks around individual characters in the background.
When I say from Jason's perspective, I mean the camera' follows him, I do not mean literally from his POV (as in a found footage film where the camera is supposed to be literally form the characters eyesight, like Hardcore Henry) I have always wanted to see a Jason film where the camera follows him as he stalks his victims. You will only ever see snippets of their individual stories as Jason walks and stalks individuals from location to location. It's kind of like that episode of It's always sunny just with less context sometimes. As I imagine scenes of Jason watching form a distance, far enough as to not hear what is being said, so you would need to infer the story of the characters from their body language and acting alone. Each characters story can be set in completely different genres from each other's, one can be a Teen finding out she's pregnant and not knowing what to do, another can be a relationship drama as a couple is observed from a distance arguing, getting angrier and angrier as the film progresses, before reconciling in the background you never hear what they are arguing about, you can only observer their tension and frustration form a distance as Jason watches them, another can be a gay love story of two characters trying to hide their blossoming relationship form their friends. Another can just be a Cheech and Chong stoner comedy. All shown from Jason's perspective of watching them. You never hear or see the full context of every story only ever see things as Jason walks by or stops to observe them. Their would-be scenes of Jason watching two characters talking or arguing, but the dialog will phase out as they walk out of hearing range. I Also imagine more complex camera movements, like a scene of Jason killing a character as the camera slowly pans away from him moving passed a girl and stopping behind her (so that we are look at her back) as she is petrified watching Jason kill her friend. Jason looks up at her, she freaks run's off screen as the camera stays on Jason walking towards the camera, swinging around him as he walks past the camera. and stays where it is watching Jason walk further away killing the girl a distance before once again tracking to another shot. I don't know if I'm explaining this correctly, but think of films like Birdman, Kubrick's The Shining, Children of Men Victoria, or La Ronde (or 1917 and Macbeth, haven't seen these two but I heard they also do impressive one shots) combined with a kind of non-linear story telling as you never get the full context of each characters story, forcing you to need to fill in the blanks for a lot of things. All this as Jason will eventually pick them off or lead to the final battle.

It will have to be non stop kills though because how long are those matches like 10 minutes to kill 8 people so a movie would need about 60 or 70 kills to be as interesting as watching the killer on a game.
People keep saying the movie was trash and I thought it was the first few minutes but it’s rlly about the killers POV which literally shows it in the trailer, this movie is rlly unnerving….there’s no music build up and actually no music at all which makes it rlly creepy and feel more REAL. There’s no jump scares which don’t make it a basic cliche horror slasher movie like the ones today and the gore is rlly rlly rlly gruesome 🙈 so don’t listen to the comments saying it’s 💩 before you even watch it lol.
It wasn't too bad, it's a very original concept and I give the director a lot of credit for that -- taking a leap to do something different in a genre that's already loaded with other movies. I'd say the only downside is like 30-40% of the movie is long scenes of watching the killer walk around and slowly stalk the victims. But I mean, it answers the question we all have -- what the heck is the killer doing when he's not on camera? 🤣
Thank goodness there’s finally an original idea, instead of yet another remake of a classic film that was perfectly fine the first time around! Very excited for this one.
One of those ideas you realise was hiding in plain sight, I'm sure it's been done before but can't believe it's not a thing. Well done, cool trailer. hyped.
1978 Halloween showed from the very FIRST SCENE of the movie what it's like from the killer's perspective. It may not had been throughout the entire movie, but they did accomplish it. This concept is not original. It's at LEAST 46 years old.
So the concept is that it’s filmed with the killer/revenant in view almost 100% of the time? Honestly I’m more interested now. Most slasher films seem to revolve around making the spookiest mask rather than breaking the mold in a meaningful way.
They were almost finished production when the lead had an allergic reaction to something in the forest, was hospitalized, and refused to go back out into the woods and finish the film. They had to hire a new lead and start all over again.
@doc8013 I know who took over the lead, a mainstay in Ontario horror, so that's good for him. I don't recall who was first cast in the role, but it must have been a pretty serious reaction for them not to chance it again .

8.5 / 10 🍿 good concept , good location switches, good action , sets the tone , follows through 💯 maybe not the best film of the year , but a good watch 🍿
This was a great movie! Love how it keeps you tightly wound to the characters most of the time. Really gives you a sense of being there in the raw. Also solves the age old question of ‘what do the monsters do when they’re not killing’ lol - literally in hunt mode every second 😂
And then there are those people who know better to understand that this is Jason Voorhees, but the studio isn't and probably doesn't have the copyright approval to use the name Friday The 13th or Jason's mask.💯
between the fights for the rights of the franchise, seems someone had the brillant idea of do a good movie about Jason, with a great trick : No mention any name,Lake or location, and not showing his face . He can also use a hockey mask as long dont show the front design. Brilliant!!
This looks incredible. I keep saying, we're in another golden age of horror and this is your proof. So many amazing horror movies being released now. So violent 😅 but it looks really intense. Well made and thought provoking. It makes you feel something.
This is a fun idea showing a slasher click from the undead killer perspective. I hope the movie shows how movie serial killers are so often able to sprint/teleport between locations to their next victims :)
Check out Behind The Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon- a really underrated horror comedy that sees a documentary team following a slasher villain around for a week as he prepares for his first massacre, learning how he manages to move so fast, how he never dies and why he is obsessed with virginal final girls. Essentially a cross between Man Bites Dog and This Is Spinal Tap, highly recommend...
I wonder if we are getting a plot twist that the killer knew his victims from before he "died" and turned into a version of Jason Voorhees. That would make it interesting, but still excited to give this a shot.

Looks like the trailer for a Brutal video game, as he's taking out each victim leveling up gaining new weapons and a mask lol.
We love asmr Jason, critics do too since it has like over 90% on rotten tomatoes rn :D
Have you seen it yet? Did it dissapoint? Only asking as I've seen so many reviews saying it's crap and I'm curious 😂
Very excited for this one.
i need shudder to make a movie like wrong turn 😩
Can’t wait between this and alien Romulus we’re eating good today!!!
Looks like meat's back on the menu boys!
Looks like meat's back on the menu boys!
Longlegs looks interesting
A budget Friday the 13th! I love it. Will watch it on Shudder, home of the B Horror Movies
I couldn’t agree more!!!
One of those ideas you realise was hiding in plain sight, I'm sure it's been done before but can't believe it's not a thing. Well done, cool trailer. hyped.
its literally been done in 100s of horror movies from 80s-90s wtf you on bro EDIT- nvm another fuckbot AI bullshit post
1978 Halloween showed from the very FIRST SCENE of the movie what it's like from the killer's perspective. It may not had been throughout the entire movie, but they did accomplish it. This concept is not original. It's at LEAST 46 years old.
Peeping Tom, Black Christmas
and in part Halloween
are from the killer's perspective.
Maniac
With American Psycho you are even privy to his inner monologue
Gonna be a modern classic
This looks incredible. CHRIS NASH!!!!!!!
Even if the director was inspired by Friday the 13th, we at least are getting the killer's perspective this time. I'm in.
Wow… yes, Shudder! Another banger? This is why I support you guys.
So the concept is that it’s filmed with the killer/revenant in view almost 100% of the time? Honestly I’m more interested now. Most slasher films seem to revolve around making the spookiest mask rather than breaking the mold in a meaningful way.
Finally. I’ve been looking for this trailer everywhere
That's a helluva way to make your feature film debut. A film so good they had to shoot it twice!
See Friday The 13th 1980@ronaldmcdonaldjunior6616
What?
They were almost finished production when the lead had an allergic reaction to something in the forest, was hospitalized, and refused to go back out into the woods and finish the film. They had to hire a new lead and start all over again.
@@MackAndrewSA wow, that's interesting. Wonder what the reaction was. Hope he doesn't regret it down the line cause this looks pretty great.
@doc8013 I know who took over the lead, a mainstay in Ontario horror, so that's good for him. I don't recall who was first cast in the role, but it must have been a pretty serious reaction for them not to chance it again .
It’s undeniable that this screams a unique new take on Friday the 13th, and I couldn’t be more ready for it. 👍🏻
What if Shudder rebooted ABCs of Death? 💀
I bet it would be sooo good 🔥
the writer/director of this also wrote and directed “z is for zygote” in abc’s 2. probably the best of that anthology tbh
I don't usually go for horror movies, but the imagery and editing in this is really aesthetically pleasing. Definitely going to give this a watch
Jason is back ❤
wrong! that's Jason's long lost brother - Mason . lol!
@@R0TBJason? Nah, Mason.
I’m stunned it took this long to make a movie with the premise. It’s so obvious and simple. Plus easy to do on a low budget
Jason is back!
Okay this is my birthday treat to myself I gotta see this on the big screen in the dark all by myself with a popcorn and a beer! I'm there!
More slasher let’s goo this looks good love the back shots
Ayo PAUSE!
Ayoooo
Jason vibes is COMING again, yes 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
wow Shudder studios is really giving birth lately, congrats to you guys for making such a huge mark off the get-go...Late Night with the Devil looks really good too!
I can't wait! 🔥🔥
Gotta say, I'm excited for this one. It looks both familiar but entirely new.
No matter how fast you run. He still right behind you slowly.
Yes, a movie from a killer perspective. I absolutely want to see more of these and to see how they get to one place to another and how they traverse and navigate throughout the movie. This needs to be more in movies.
By walking with a purposeful gait.
No country for old man when dude crashes the truck and the person who shot from a distance comes from the darkness like Jason or Michael Myers but with a tech 9 😂😂😂😂
8.5 / 10 🍿
good concept , good location switches, good action , sets the tone , follows through 💯 maybe not the best film of the year , but a good watch 🍿
The new Jason movies looks dope!!!
Finally a trailer to this mythological movie I've been hearing about for months.
I remember thinking it would be cool to see a Halloween movie that follows Michael around rather than seeing him appear places. This looks so good!
That looks amazing....if it's a play on Jason, or if not....I'm SOLD
Finally wait is over, I’m really excited for this movie 🔥
The wait ISN'T over. We still have over 2 months before it is released.
@@aaronroberts8601He was referring to the anticipation of the trailer release you bored argumentative troll.
Right, It's been a minute for a new Friday the 13th lol
@@aaronroberts8601 He was implying that the wait is now over for the trailer, not the debut of the full length film. Get a hobby!
I can already tell you this will have a sequel. Terrifier in the woods
Oh crude I just noticed it’s coming out on Friday the 31st haha! Anyone else notice that or am I just slow?
This was a great movie! Love how it keeps you tightly wound to the characters most of the time. Really gives you a sense of being there in the raw. Also solves the age old question of ‘what do the monsters do when they’re not killing’ lol - literally in hunt mode every second 😂
Throw in some T and A! You'll have a hit.
Always got to have that good T and A lol
This looks like it's gonna be crazy good! Can't Wait!!!
And then there are those people who know better to understand that this is Jason Voorhees, but the studio isn't and probably doesn't have the copyright approval to use the name Friday The 13th or Jason's mask.💯
The trailer doesn’t give much and I love it🤩🤩
Can’t wait!!
Jason Vorhees vibes!
between the fights for the rights of the franchise, seems someone had the brillant idea of do a good movie about Jason, with a great trick : No mention any name,Lake or location, and not showing his face . He can also use a hockey mask as long dont show the front design. Brilliant!!
If anything it’s bagface Jason from pt2
I guess it looks good but I’m sure I’ve seen this movie 12 times already 😂
I was thinking the same thing, "Jason"....
Is this a Jason Voorhees movie?
Nope but may as well be!
In spirit my friend... in spirit...
I dont think it is, Jason's franchise is owned by Universal...unless Shudder paid them a sh*t load of money to use Jason in this movie.
Yes and no lol. It's a very clever way for a studio to profit off the Jason license without buying the Jason license.
Finally! Something worth watching
That looks GOOD! I'm sure my theater won't have it.
Finally! Yes!
Ay, no doubt, Shudder is Bad Ass!!. I love and own the Furies plus many more. PLEASE keep it coming. Full support!
He looks gentle
Yeah, he just wants a big hug lol
haha just watch, seen it, its epic
Are slashers back?
Looks like a vintage and more artistic take on friday the 13th... Is this a homage?
So basically Jason is searching for a hockey mask and killing random people at the same time. Got it!😉👍
I have wanted this ever since I was a kid, I never cheered for people, let the monster win.
I fell asleep 2 times watching this garbage. -10/10
Shudder subscription here I come!!!
Friday the 13th from wish
Better than Friday the 13th 🤡
1:08 “What sound effects would you like to have in that scene?” Sound engineer:”I’ll give you all I got✅💪”
If it's a Jason movie, let it be a Jason movie, not a current Blumhouse movie 💩
It's neither.
Isn't it about Jason?😔💔
Wow, I like the way of this cinematography view.
Only in theaters? Or SELECT theaters?
This was filmed in my Canadian province of Ontario!
Guess that means the killer will say "sorry!" to each person he kills...
This looks incredible.
I keep saying, we're in another golden age of horror and this is your proof.
So many amazing horror movies being released now.
So violent 😅 but it looks really intense. Well made and thought provoking. It makes you feel something.
Looks awesome!! Can't wait to see this movie!
Daaaaaaaamn where to watch thissss? Please comment the link guyssssss!
Will this drop on Shudder on the 31st?
That turkey's sound blended into the theme is phenomenal!
Can’t wait to own it on blu ray
You like watching paint dry?
When is this on shudder?
Looks like a relaxing movie about hiking
Seeing the trailer in theaters was really good with the Big screen and surround sounds
Shudder is crazy this year 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️
THIs CONCEPT IS SO COOL!!!!! INSTANT CLASSIC Literally the only slasher I wanna see
I think this movie was filmed in my hometown Sault Ste.Marie Ontario. I just released my movie also filmed here called FEAR: LONE WOLF
But mine has no budget. Zero budget
I wonder if we are getting a plot twist that the killer knew his victims from before he "died" and turned into a version of Jason Voorhees. That would make it interesting, but still excited to give this a shot.
This looks amazing!
Another Shudder Original I am hereeeeee for 😎😎😎
