- Inspired by the book “Tatting With One Hand” by Helen A. Chesno, this is my attempt to show the technique. A method of tatting for people who have the use of only the right hand. It may also help others to understand the “flip” of shuttle tatting. This video shows tatting a ring only. The chain is shown in another video.
What a lovely tutorial! No more sitting idle if I have to have surgery on my shoulder! This is such a wonderful gift.

Just had shoulder surgery on right shoulder. Practicing this technique with left hand. Would you consider making same video with only left hand. Thank you for making this video. There are 5 months of physical therapy until can do normal activities.
On my to-do list for next month. There's been others wanting the left hand version as well.

Video so many times but still can't do the flip. Having a really hard time finding tagging groups e classes where I live in Orange county California..please let me know if you might be doing the one hand video with left hand anytime soon enough

I am having problem of understanding how to get first half show stitch to reverse in correct direction so pilots are on outside. Can you help
The pillow and pins take the place of the hand that thread would be wrapped around. Other than that, all the usual techniques of shuttle tatting are the same here. It sounds like you're having trouble getting "the flip" of the stitch. Do you have a written pattern for this tutorial and the follow up where ring is reversed.
