Very nice. Hope to make it out there sometime within the next two years. I actually have a box of 180 ELD on order along with a box of 195 Berger, to do some testing.
Jim Heflin: Just like you, I started the same way. If you truly want to put in the time and effort, there is nothing stopping you from being able to do the same. Not that you asked, but here are my opinions on how to best get started. First off, you need an accurate gun that you KNOW is capable of shooting 1/2 MOA or .5 inch groups, or better, at 100 yards. That is extremely important! The reason being, If you know this gun is capable of that kind of accuracy and you can’t get it to shoot that kind of groups, then you know the problem is with you and not the gun. And therefore, you need to refine your shooting technique. This does not mean you have to necessarily spend a ton of money. A lot of people are able too get this kind of accuracy from a 5-$800 rifle. Absolutely NOT saying a more expensive rifle is not a lot easier to shoot accurately, just saying it is not absolutely necessary.Once you are able to consistently shoot with this kind of 1/2 MOA accuracy, start stretching out a little further, say 300 yards on a steel plate. Once you’ve done that, Im quite sure you will want to go to 500 yards then 750 and then the magical 1/2 mile (880 yards). It, at least for me, NERER stopes being more of a challenge and more of a sense of accomplishment the further out I go. I know this whole thing has been extremely simplified, but that is how it came about for me over the course of 2.5-3 years of my excessive compulsive behavior. Good luck and hope you get to stretch out your abilities and accomplishments.
That round has got to be going transonic by the time it hits. I didn’t think the 7mm rem mag had enough steam to make it 2,000yards much less 3,000. It’s pretty impressive

@@TheMitchbassman Your rifle is zeroed at a certain distance and does not change, then you have to hold off for compensation. basically, you have to know you ballistic chart for your load. In my case my rifle is zeroed at 20 yards and at 200 yards, maintaining my aiming point at center mass and center on the reticle. Everything in between I do have to adjust for elevation, windage and so forth. Lots of people get in-depth with turrets dialing and all that but basically is all about using your reticle and knowing your ballistics.
@@LACTS-be7pr its easier to adjust the elevation and windage and hold your reticle on target than holding your reticle high and to the left/right a good scope will return back to your original zero just turn back to your zero marks and you still have to know your ballistics to adjust your scope. Also at that distance he was shooting he had a rail that had 60 moa built into it and he still had to come up 44mils and 6mils left and he was hold close to if not right on target, doing it your way if you could even see the target it would have been at bottom right or 5 o'clock looking through the scope just not practical just adjust and hold right on target, on a side note this shot is not practical but this is the new thing is shooting way past the bullets potential Also your ways works for fast and close target engagement out to 500 yards give or take what optic and how well you know your load
I think adjusting and using holdover are both critical. I've never shot near this distance but it would seem to be effective would require using all the tools.

Where the hell is this?
Booger Snatcher West Texas 45 min north of Sweetwater
I like to read everything that has directions on it. A .22lr can be lethal at 1.5 miles...is the manufacturing company telling us lies? Hmmmmm....
Lethal, but not accurate. You'd never hit what you were aiming it, but it could still do some damage if it hit someone.
If You do not make a hit on the first shot.... all You say means shit....but kudos on using 7mm, its a great round
Aby Aby Aby I will offer you the deal of a lifetime. You bring your choice of gun, bullet, scope and bipod and nothing else for your attempt. If you hit on your first attempt, I will pay for EVERY expense that you incur to come to the ranch to make that shot. If you miss you pay Double the full freight. Deal? like you said “ if you do not make a hit on the first shot...all you say means shit”. When do I make the reservations?
@@glennjames1756 last time i shot a bullet was in 1986...so id definitely miss by light years...but that being said....had no intention to offend anyone,,,but yeah....first shot dead center is a must on ELR....though... I must admit that i suspect all of your shots were beyond the ammo capability, and apparently some of the ammo had inconsistencies.......
I think it woudl be great if You ever redid this kind of sessions with a Super high speed camera tracking the last few yards of the trajectory and some device to measure the punch left at moment of impact....
But agian as for the scope....if u cant get a hit on the first shot, then it is impossible to evaluate its overall quality....maybe try the same review with a 375 chey tac?!
It need a cl2s
zillow trulia Sorry I have no idea what you are talking about
its an M24
POWER BANG No it is a bull barrel
oooohkkk. nice. cool. that is thought that how could a m24 go that far. nice bro keep it up. i've subscribed you.
I don't understand why people use their turrets. Once your rifle is zero all you have to use is your reticle for elevation, distance, and windage.
Zeroed for what? Your zero constantly changes. With range. You set for each shot.
@@TheMitchbassman
Your rifle is zeroed at a certain distance and does not change, then you have to hold off for compensation. basically, you have to know you ballistic chart for your load.
Also at that distance he was shooting he had a rail that had 60 moa built into it and he still had to come up 44mils and 6mils left and he was hold close to if not right on target, doing it your way if you could even see the target it would have been at bottom right or 5 o'clock looking through the scope just not practical just adjust and hold right on target, on a side note this shot is not practical but this is the new thing is shooting way past the bullets potential
Also your ways works for fast and close target engagement out to 500 yards give or take what optic and how well you know your load
I think adjusting and using holdover are both critical. I've never shot near this distance but it would seem to be effective would require using all the tools.
I use hold over. Zero at a set range and leave the turrets alone. Never failed me.
looks like alot of fun but its really to far for any reasonable grouping.
Fair enough. What would you call a reasonable grouping at 3000 yards.
Not impressed , I took a doe at 45 yards with open sights. So there !
Wow impressive 🙄nah just kidding😂 good you hear you got a full fridge man. I went rifle hunting fully prepared to shoot out passed 500 and shot a big mule deer at 87 yards on side of the trail. It happens like that sometimes😂
BS look at the size of the target, it’s like a impassible to miss.
- and another UA-cam expert leaves their mark!🤣
What is the point? Why?
olderbutyoung The challenge! May I ask, what is your passion?
@@glennjames1756 Got that for sure. None, done them all. Thanks
Why not?
This video is proof, expensive equipment - is NO substitute for skills and intuitive windage. "We'll show you how to shoot..." you must mean we'll show you how to waste money./?
wannabe...lame...painful...any one of these guys seem the type to be arrested for stolen valor
Anyone would be safe walking around at that distance with you shooting
SS earl Are you volunteering?
8 misses and 2 hits. Just if he would have had a bubble level and learn how to breathe right it could have been 10 hits. $3,100 scope and still missed 8
Larry White I definitely need to take lessons from you!
@@glennjames1756 I wondered if you would reply. You didn't on my 1st comment a month ago.
@@glennjames1756 Dry fire until you have the 4 fundamentals of marksmanship down. Steady position, aiming, breathe control, trigger squeeze. I've been found in the middle of the night behind my rifle fast asleep from doing this.
Boring. Take up golf....
Good shooting but…….. need more target visional not the shooter we now where he is.
