sometimes when i write to do lists, i also add things that i've already done because then i can tick something off before the "real" start. great motivation because it isn't just a long list with tasks but a lit with some successes.
Rachel I think you should consider doing a whole series on how you style you apartment. I feel like you have an amazing eye for detail and I constantly find myself trying to eye your apartments for inspiration lol!
Wow I really like that idea. I think I’ll try making a to do list for the week but then a completion list every day. I don’t think I could remember every little thing without a list for the week but I think the daily completion list might be a really nice addition!
My personal care aide & I use completion lists to track which activities are accomplished. It helps keep track of how often certain tasks are performed and sets more realistic expectations for time management. 🙂
Yesss that’s so funny. I started doing it a couple weeks ago for similar reasons! Instead of a to do list I started writing the task I’m about to work on then chk off as soon as I complete - almost a reverse to do list. It felt great and more manageable. I wondered if anyone else does this and then I see your video. Love it
I've been doing the same list thing recently! To do lists often make me anxious or down if I don't get everything done. I call it my "what I got done today" list 😊
I know exactly how you feel about feeling anxious or down if you don't get everything done on your to do list, im so glad I'm not alone, I never thought of doing a what I got done list rather than a to do list what a brilliant idea thankyou xx
I've been doing completion lists for years. Not consistently, but generally lists make me happy. So when my To Do list didn't have any check marks I will write down what I actually did that day and check them off. Instant happy and satisfaction. Love your videos. 😃
I’ve always done my lists this way. I find it very motivating. When you have an unending list of projects/things to do, it looks exhausting and it’s never done. However if you write down what you’ve actually accomplished, no matter how small the task, you feel a sense of accomplishment of all you’ve actually done and every little thing helps you get that much farther.
I love the idea of creating completion lists, right down to the very basics 😍 I‘ve heard a tip of having your to-do list not as a daily thing, but weekly. So if it’s not done today, there’s always tomorrow - Sunday. I’ve found it really useful especially for thing I’ve convinced myself are ‘important’ when it really isn’t!
Just wanted to say hello and thank you for not giving up and sharing your thoughts. Its nice to know you’re not the only one struggling to be productive and motivated. I can totally relate to what you’re going through sometimes. Love from Cape Town, South Africa 🇿🇦
I’m going to watch this before bed I need to get my life together I have to finish one part of my homework to do then I am done ✔️ with my homework I have another ,”. Final exam on the 7th and I totally 💯 ready for school to be over plus I need to clean my room.
I feel like that is something that I need to try! I either do not write a to do list and I keep everything in my head which is not good but when I do write a to list and I don't get everything done, I get discouraged! I loved watching your video and thank you for the idea!!
I love the “completed” list! I’ve been struggling a lot on the days I don’t go in to work, and having a toddler that doesn’t sleep through the night probably doesn’t help. I watched your video this mid morning and have given the “completed” list a go, and I am so much more motivated! To do lists always seem like a good idea, but end up overwhelming me and I end up down on myself because I didn’t get much done. I will be implementing the completed list into my day from now on! Thanks for the huge motivation tip💕
I'm using the completion list method now and in the past but sometimes I will revert back to the same ole to do list's. But like you said, it does prove to be a "let down", when you review it the next day and realize you didn't really do anything on the to do list or forgot to do the most important and basics. I find for the most part I'm more productive if I just write down what I have done or accomplished every time I take a break during the day. When things get to over scheduled or ridged with a large to do list I have a tendency to shut down and become withdrawn and apathetic, for lack of a better word, I get depressed. Great video and sound's like a good productive plan, thanks for you're encouraging take on the dreaded To Do List. Have a great week. Brenda
I have been doing ‘What I did today’ lists for a long time. I write each task in my planner as I complete it. It makes me feel happy 💖. I rarely write to do lists. I find them less motivating. Your bedroom looks beautiful. I like the colours of the cross stitch threads you bought
I did this yesterday, i got so much done! Way less negative self talk. It helped me appreciate myself and all the things i do that normally don’t make the list.
I use rings and print my day on a spread (left and right pages). Down the far left, I've printed the hours from midnight to midnight. I use this to preplan my appointments and TV shows. But I also use it to fill in my completed tasks next to the approximate time. That way if I forget to notate a task there's always space. This also gives me a place to notate my sleep and fasting windows. Also, how much screen time I enjoy and am shifting to productive time. On the far right page, I do keep a "to do" list, but it's mainly a brain dump/ someday maybe list. Otherwise, I'd never remember what's on my mind when I need it. The rest of the space I use for notes on phone calls, emails, planning goals and working out limiting thoughts. If there's space left over and I'm ambitious, I add art... stickers, stamps or even doodles. If I'm not ambitious, minimal is fine too! It reflects who I was that day. ❤🌅🌵😷
I love that list making method! Such a great idea. I’ve started doing a gratitude list everyday. So every morning I’m using an app I found to add things I’m grateful for etc. I’ve found it helps a lot with my mood! 🙂 your videos are so relaxing!
I still use "To-Do" lists (surprise) but I find I use my Journal as my completion list as this usually tidies up and closes the day off. The downside is, it's not usually done until around 4 or 5pm each day, so probably doesn't help with any immediate anxiety about not getting stuff done, but has always served me well.
I recently started doing the “What I got done” in my planner...on another small note pad I make “brain dump list” & I write down each task I complete in my planner, because I’ve been feeling the same way as you...
Definitely going to try doing a completion list instead of a to-do list. I’m a stay-at-home mom and homeschool so I often feel like I’m not doing enough. But this way of looking at things might be very beneficial!!!
Yes totally do this! I write a mini to do list... and then put on my planner all my day tasks accomplished... with a newborn and a toddler my house it’s a mess and with quarantine no one can help in home 🥴 I love your hair
I also have got quite angry in the last few months with To-Do lists or planning stuff. So I just put the impossible stuff into my backlog and do the stuff I know I can do. I then do something similar with writing a list, but not in the morning......usually rough notes (one word) during the day and then add as part of my journal at the end of the day.
"To Do' lists stress me out so much! I always get so overwhelmed and end up accomplishing nothing! I love your idea of putting together a completion list- sounds so much more positive and encouraging. Thank you so much for sharing :-)
I love the idea of Completion list. I have been working from home for a while now and as much as I think I enjoy it, I can feel my stress manifesting through different channels. I might implement it for myself soon :D
I think that a completion list is an amazing idea. Sometimes "to do" lists can be tedious and I put more on them that I can accomplish. Thank you for the great suggestion.
Great video! I did this method at times (at least mentally) and it helped! Lately I’ve been productive because I am really pumped about several projects coming to life and getting the official papers for my business registration made me super eager to get stuff done.
‘Mrs Hinch’ from IG does Ta Da lists for the same reasons you said. Sometimes you focus on what still needs doing and not all the little things you do. I have filled in some timed daily pages in my planner to see what I spend my day doing. I totally understand the reluctance to go out. In the uk we were all stuck at home for about 10 weeks then non essential shops opened June and we could meet up outside etc and think it was July restaurants opened etc. I’ve only recently been to DIY shops, restaurants etc as on one hand I wasn’t desperate to go and on the other hand I was out the habit of going so just didn’t. It does feel strange at first but you do feel the benefits after. Fingers crossed your restrictions are lifted soon x
Kristinaaj92 I use this method at work all the tine. Especially when working on a big project, you aren't 'done' at the end of the day. So I list out all the actual things done. Definitely works to manage work related stress. 😃
Watching your videos these days and I realized you now had 600kplus subscribers when the last time I saw it, its only less than 100k. Im happy for you, 😘😘😘
I haven’t watched the whole video yet but I just wanted to say I love the way your hair looks in this video ❤️ idk if it’s your normal style but I love those curls on you!
Hey Rachael I was going to ask you about how your friendships changed as you became more popular on youtube and became a social media influencer, did you ever get friends use you for your followers or fame or money or guys date you for the wrong reasons? Also how did your dating rules change as your got older, make these youtube videos if you can, thanks:) jess
I liked ur idea of completion list.. that sounds great ..I am going to try that.. thank you for sharing.. also I like how u arrange so many flowers in your house everywhere I like the fresh flowers too.. take care!
I’ve been exactly the same as you lately. I could easily just stay in and not go out for days on end and that’s super unusual for me as I am such an outdoors person. Normally I get quite depressed if I don’t go out, but not these days. I have to work myself up for going out but once I’m out there I’m glad I went. #covidpleasestopnow 🙏🏻
Cockroaches in warehouses prefer to lay their eggs in cardboard, so it's always wise to get rid of boxes right away. As you don't want those "visitors" taking up residents in your home! ❤🌅🌵😷
You probably dont care but does anyone know a way to log back into an instagram account..? I was stupid forgot my password. I would love any assistance you can offer me.
I don’t know if it is the same thing but I do a what went well at the end of the day and I guess that is what I’ve achieved in the day. Prefer the completion method though as sometimes it’s hard to remember what I’ve actually achieved in the day.
Might have to give the completion list a go. I’m always creating to do lists. I didn’t know that you cross stitch. Are you stitching something at the moment or just prepping?
sometimes when i write to do lists, i also add things that i've already done because then i can tick something off before the "real" start. great motivation because it isn't just a long list with tasks but a lit with some successes.

Lately I have been binge watching all your old videos. Something about your content makes me feel happy and relaxed. I love it!
I often make a list everyday even for the smallest thing like vacuuming or even having lunch. It sound tedious but makes you very productive
Its like watching your sim write novels haha love it
Wow I really like that idea. I think I’ll try making a to do list for the week but then a completion list every day. I don’t think I could remember every little thing without a list for the week but I think the daily completion list might be a really nice addition!

I’ve heard completion lists be called “Ta da lists” ✨
Or "to done lists"
That's the cutest things! Ta-daa lists
Mrs hinch

Yes exactly, Gretchen Rubin came up with that name on the Happier podcast :)
I've been doing the same list thing recently! To do lists often make me anxious or down if I don't get everything done. I call it my "what I got done today" list 😊

@@cheyennesmith1838 thanks
"completion list" sounds like something that I need to do now! Thanks Rachel for the way of changing my mindset! xx
I feel like that is something that I need to try! I either do not write a to do list and I keep everything in my head which is not good but when I do write a to list and I don't get everything done, I get discouraged! I loved watching your video and thank you for the idea!!

I appreciate your honesty about your productivity. I think everyone needs to hear it from time to time.
I love a “Productive Items Done” List! 💞😊

I love this! Makes so much sense to shift your perception from scarcity to abundance. And our days are abundant with actions, no matter how small!
I did this yesterday, i got so much done! Way less negative self talk. It helped me appreciate myself and all the things i do that normally don’t make the list.
I like the completion list!!! Thanks for the tip! I love your videos!!!
Yes! I like to do this. I just didn't know what it was called. You do feel good when you write down tasks as you complete them!!

OMG! I cannot wait to see more videos like these from you!
I did a video a few months ago on a similar system, I call it the reverse to do list. Or my "did it" list.
I find it very motivating on my down days.

the editing in this is litterally perfect 💕
You define productivity!

It looks great, btw. 😉🤗
I definitely have to work myself up to go out it’s such a struggle! I always feel better after tho 😅
So I'm not the only one who eats sushi using a fork 🤓I felt so represented there! Love these videos and your honesty, always!
I always do things after I write. ❤❤❤
Hair care routine and how you style it? 😍
So random but how do you do you eyebrows so they fade out towards the start/nose?
Cockroaches in warehouses prefer to lay their eggs in cardboard, so it's always wise to get rid of boxes right away. As you don't want those "visitors" taking up residents in your home! ❤🌅🌵😷
The completion list is big brain energy
That sushi looks fantastic!
Love your hair! Can you do a video on it?
I love the fox print diary with the lock at 14:52! I've been looking for a more 'adult' lockable diary for ages. Does anyone know where to find it???
Love your hair do u have a video on how you curl it? I’d love to see
I like your motivational videos, plz more vlogs😘😘😘
this actually made me crave sushi lol
You probably dont care but does anyone know a way to log back into an instagram account..?

I had to ditch to do lists as well. I only keep a short weekly one with the very urgent due dates on it :'D
I like your hair more this way! :D
Loved this!
I do that list too!! But I do it on my Google Calendar 😊
Great method! Thank you for sharing it 💕 I'm definitely going to try it 🙂
I did the same. I stopped making to do lists!
I love your green top!
Hey Rachel hope your doing okay in lockdown, would be so hard living alone x
Love your videos💕
I wish I had your apartment.. so perfect for one person!
Eating sushi with a fork?! 😲😂
Loved the video! Do you wear hair extensions :) ? Your hair is so beautiful
She does and recently got back into wearing them
I have a love/hate relationship with this channel, is the same ALWAYS but for for some reason I can't unsuscribe
You must get something from watching her videos. Otherwise you would go elsewhere. Sometimes I find just trying one of the tips suggested helps me 😁
