    She was once asked why she agreed to get married and she said, her makeup calls were an hour earlier than the other actresses and she realised she was getting old and her time as a movie star was nearly over.

    2:21 "a cynic might even remark the prince was simply the hereditary proprietor of an amusement park, and the princess no more than a woman who made a living by pretending to be what she was not" DAMN!

    The "Duchess" of "American Riviera Orchards" could learn from this LADY.
    Meanwhile, Ginger and Nutmeg are best left baked into pastries, used to season red meats, or left on rhe spice rack.

    It was in the end in an instant she was no longer among us. But she played her role as a mark that she passed by here.

    Very good actress who gave it all away to play princess. Baffling decision.

      Weird comment. She started a family. Hollyweird is just a fake dream and not real life. 🤦🏻‍♀️

    Her background and breeding snagged her a prince. She was also bright and charming and caring to her people and the prince was not. A bankrupt aristocrat that had to settle down and get a heir. He was miserable and uncharming and very selfish. She came with a million to help the cause.

    She was a lovely looking woman and a fine actor.
    It’s my opinion that she married beneath herself

    She wanted to be a princess, "but since she had been born in America, she had to lower her sights and settled for being a movie star". As an American, I think I'm offended 😅

      @tonyarichards5430 if you say so :P I'm subbed to the channel but I don't recognize the voice :(

    • @originallynot
      @originallynot 17 днів тому +2

      Those recordings were made using carbon microphones and that's why they sound the way they do, also during the early AI days these voices were the first to be replicated, first because they were already quite compressed and easy to replicate, and second, due to the abundance of footage we have, if you want to replicate a voice of a 1920s narrator you can use his whole life's work to do so

    • @Lattamonsteri
      @Lattamonsteri 17 днів тому +1

      @originallynot makes sense i guess x) although silly pathé for using such microphones in the 50s or 60s when this was made. i guess they were cheaper than what was used in films?

    • @originallynot
      @originallynot 17 днів тому +1

      @Lattamonsteri Indeed they were much cheaper, it was a way to get a reasonably good microphone at a fair price back then, so they were very popular even into the late 20th century
