If it's the winding and not the condensator,it's not really a repair wich is needed,but a rebuild of the wiring inside,wich is a heavy operation for the wallet and the motor.

I think that's pretty accurate. There are even fans on motors and blades on wind turbines to keep the smoke in so it doesn't escape when it's running. Each time i 've seen one on fire there was smoke,so it means it stopped working and the smoke escaped,so it caught on fire because it couldn't work properly anymore. It make sense, i agree. It's proven now.
I did that because it was going to the recycling,because it was more than 10 years old,and because i've repaired it twice,(the belt,and the electronic board),and mostly because it was so rusted that it was staining the clothes instead of washing them.

The windings are pretty cooked.
All the phases were shorted, that's why the motor was burning.
Shorting all the phases together causes high current so the coil starts smoking and sparking, haha you finally burned out the motor!

I think one coil was weak,so it stalled until the windings melted.
