You've pretty much brought up the exact same issues I had, the story definitely could've been told in better ways most of the time, as well some frustrating level design peeves (those damn platforming sections) holds this title back in many ways from achieving a comparable quality to it's source material. Still can't help but fully appreciate how much care there clearly went though as for better or worse, it's still the best video game adaptation GitS has ever had , but I hope that will change someday. Great video.
Your channel really inspires me. I have been trying to do youtube for a while but I never had any success. I saw your videos and wow man you put a lot of effort into these. Great job.
I had a PS2 and watched the show in high school. I wonder why I never knew about this game then. It only looks decent, but I would have loved it back then.
I thought the same about the PS1 game and saw more ppl talk about this one. Did my own video on that one but this is a game i played a little bit to try it out, and will continue it once i get a copy of it for my collection. Great video dude. [A bit of advice. Try and balance the sound in your next video. Your voice is really quiet but your game scenes and intermisions are very loud.]
Hi! Thanks so much for your words. And yeah I've recently just noticed that my in-game audio was too loud. especially the intro sequence. Usually I never overlook such a basic thing but I guess I misheard it this time around when looking it over in post. I'm fairly rusty in making sure these come out like they use to so that's my fault!
Great video, as a longtime fan of the series, I didn't even know this existed, might be time to break out an old emulator and check it out. Would not have minded a long-form version of this video either, going over everything. That kind of content is super popular right now and I think you may have the analysis chops to pull one off. Something to consider if you have a ton of voiced over footage laying about. Thanks for this video at any rate.
@@thenewtypetheory1616 Thank you as well! I may actually look into making a video on those in the future. Those tell a new set of stories from what I’ve seen and it’s definitely peaked my interest to check them out because of that.
You definitely should make more game analysis

Thank you for making this! Would you consider doing a review of the Stand Alone Complex novels?
