A few of you asked for this video! So grab a cuppa and watch what I've been loving recently. Please please PLEASE help me with book recommendations. I feel like some light hearted stuff. Any ideas my loves? I can't handle dark books at the moment. Back on Saturday with a TRIP ANNOUNCMEENNNNTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT. Have a fab day! x
Daisy Jones and The Six is an amazing book! Also I highly recommend recommend The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo, Where The Crawdads Sing, The School For Good Mothers and Lessons in Chemistry (yes I’m one of those dreadful I read 6 books in January people!) Hope you find the love for reading back! 🙌🏻📚
I so appreciate you talking about not leisurely reading! Especially as a teacher, I feel like such a fraud when I’m reading for pleasure at all times. But, sometimes a break until you find a book that really speaks to you is sooo good!
Bang on trend! Just what we needed, a happy chatty vlog 💜 Loving your Navarna sweatshirts and the sainsbo jumper dress. No book recs from me, as I can't seem to concentrate long enough to devour a book ☹️ but Happy Valley is the bomb. Had to rebinge seasons 1&2 so that the new season made sense. Oh, what a joy ❤️
Mug of the month! I miss mug of the month! And I think I remember that mug when it was an original mug of the month! ❤ love these types of videos like sitting down with an old chum! Xxx
Needed this happy chatty video. I've started a new job and I hate it and am stressed to the max. Love your jumpers and want some spring vibes for outfits.
The 90s came back. Combats. Crop tops. Leggings with jumpers. My mum always used to say “well that was trendy when I was young, I should have kept my clothes for you”. Now I’m thinking exactly the same. I think this time around I’ll skip the combats and crop tops and embrace the jumper and leggings.
I know you want to use your kindle...I love reading books too! But I have been listening to more audiobooks. I use Scribd, cheaper than audiobooks and I can do other things while listening...like podcasts.
Book recommendations- The bride test by Helen Hoang there are 3 books all interconnected stand alones all are great. The midnight library, one of us is lying and anything by Emily Henry. Xxxx
I bought that pink jacket because it looked so good on you and I love it but it just looks too big for me- too long - as I’m vv short! Gutted. Part of me wants to keep and try and alter it but I’m not there in my sewing journey yet. I am tempted to make the sling bags, though, for my trip to Disneyland Paris next month!
I am loving the Cream Scones and coffee I had in Webbs today on the way to visit my son in Northfield. Great day, good memories apart from M5 closed because of a fire, went cross country back. Just watching your Vlog about things you love. Great wind down from the journey.
My daughter took the black version of the Uniqlo bag when we went to Disneyland Paris it held SO much! Happy Valley last episode was so tense- crikey. Coincidentally I was hiding behind my crocheted blanket ( not singed). I burst into tears at the end with all the emotions. Amazing acting and writing.
With regards to book, I love Sophie Kinsella, Cecelia ahearn, and Marian Keyes and I have found Beth O’Leary is now a favourite (flatshare, road trip, no show, and the switch). Easy to read and stories that keep you captivated. Going to start on Emily Henry next to see what her books are like
I totally second these recommendations ❤️ Always great for a light hearted easy read. You'll love Emily Henry books if you enjoy these other authors. I'm a huge fan!
This was a lovely listen as o worked away on a pretty boring project. With regard to the reading, it's so easy to be overwhelmed by those folks who read loads. I do want to read more and have found audiobooks super helpful to do this.
I loved this video! I watched Happy Valley per your recommendation on a previous video and oh my gosh I love it!! {I’m in the US and was able to get 2 seasons on Philo} but now I’m dying to see what happens next!!
I'm going to get one of them bags I watched all of Happy Valley brilliant, I'm in need of motivation few things in want to do but just keep putting them off take care 💞🤗
I love these chatty videos. I have made a note for the podcasts, thanks. I am just about to start season 2 of Happy Valley so desperately trying to avoid any spoilers. It is soo good isn’t it. With reading I don’t tend to sit down to read but I keep my kindle by my bed and read a couple of chapters in bed. It’s better than scrolling through my phone and also relaxes me and helps me sleep x
On the subject of books I love the Anton Du Beke books, set in 1930s to 40s, I got The Empire by Michael Ball for Christmas and was surprised how much I enjoyed it, 1920s, glam, romance, theatre talk and gangsters. A book which is doing well on Book tube and Tik tok is Lessons in Chemistry by Bonnie Garmus absolutely phenomenal with a wonderful dog in it too. Books are my equivalent of Mugs, Disney and plants but I do return some to Charity. Audible books count as reading but I prefer hard copy. Have over 800 physical books lol.
Hi Emma, the book The Funny Thing About Norman Foreman by Juliette Henderson is a lovely book, sad but feel good too. Peri menopause kicks your concentration to pot! Hence not reading, I experience this all the time, really annoying but I’ve turned to audio books and it’s really helped. Hang in there 😊
Ordered the beige Uniqlo bag after seeing it on your Instagram! Will be the perfect bag for DLP in Sept! I’m currently reading Red White & Royal Blue and am LOVING it will be so sad for it to end!
I’m sure you’ve already read it, but your lovely pal Sarah’s book Stepping Up was my favourite book of 2022, so lovely & heartwarming, got a bit of everything in it x
Little Fires Everywhere by Celeste Ng is a great book (also just saw it’s been serialised on Amazon Prime, so am going to watch it!!) Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine by Gail Honeyman is also excellent xx Happy Valley is - always will be - top telly. Facts!
I found another podcast on bbc sounds called obsessed with happy valley which is also really good. I’m going to check out The Shrine Podcasts too. I’m just rewatching the whole series for the 2nd time it’s so good.
I read less in the winter for some reason and read a lot more in the Summer as I think i love sitting in the garden getting a tan at the same time whereas in the winter its more netflix and drama docs
emma! really good book to ease your way back into reading is convenience store woman by sayaka murata. shows how everyone lives their life differently. only about 120 pages?
@brummymummyof2 you'll love Meghan Quinn - the virgin romance novelist 1&2, three blind dates ,I've read all of her books 📚 but they are great to start . Christina Lauren - again I've read most of them start with something wilder but go on kindle and read the blurb to them that should get you started 😁📚
Time after time by Louise pendland is a great book easy to follow story , emotional twists fills you heart would love if it was a movie highly recommended
Richard Osman, the thursday murder club, the man who died twice and the bullet that missed. These three by him are such an easy reads. About a group of friends who live in a retirement village and always end up involved in things
12:02 Revenge by Tom Bower, it’s a deep dive by an investigative journalist into the Harry and Meghan story. I couldn’t put it down and it tells a very different story to the one that H&M are putting out xxx
@@brummymummyof2 Thomas Markle certainly wasn’t the lowlife he was made out to be and Doria was virtually not in her life until she met Harry, doesn’t entirely fit in with the narrative that’s being told in interviews! Like I said I could not put it down (£5 in Asda) xxx
Hi Emma hope you and your family are well and having a good morning! I like the pink blazer very nice it made me think of mean girls, only wear pink on wensday😂and the fact that it's wensday😂. I've heard alot about happy Valley I might watch it... Edit: started watching it now😂 Have a good day:)

Emma you make me die I think the new words for bang on trend are now it’s a “vibe” which my kids all say,(but hate it if I say it!) because I’m a dork or words along the same lines 😂
I’m going to say something silly now. That feels like I’m cheating? Ha ha! It would be SO much easier for when I’m walking the dog etc but it doesn’t feel like I’m doing it right. I have issues x

@@brummymummyof2 It was hard to get at one point. Even my son has one - he says a lot of people have them in London.
