I confirm the preceding message, the demonstration makes it appear so simple when in fact the CRV or other Honda transponder keys will not work when transferred to a flip key. The transponder chip is too far away from the receiver in the key cylinder.. This will only work if the transponder chip is separate from the key's remote control. If separate, the chip can then be positioned inside the flip key at the top end, close enough for the car's transponder receiver to detect and communicate with. The solution in such a situation is to put another chip inside the flip key shell in the location described earlier. You will then program the extra transponder chip with the designated RFID. Honda's transponder chip is embedded in the remote controller and can NOT be separated from it. In the Philippines, the best place to do this is KeyCards. They do such conversion in a very professional way and reasonable price. Compared to another key shop, KeyCards does it QUICK too. Special mention of KeyCards AlabangTownCenter's Jasmine, a great job done.
A rejoinder, : another working option is to remove the embedded transponder chip from the remote controller module. It is not wired in any way, just de-solder two points and the chip is free from the RC circuit board. YOU CAN NOW REPOSITION THIS CHIP IN ITS PROPER PLACE INSIDE THE NEW FLIP KEY SHEEL CASING.
@@thatgreencrx7677 same here, looking for solution, talked to lock smith, he said if your tech savvy enough you can solder the immobilizer chip off and re sold and place the chiplet in the top area near where the blade connects and swivels out of the key fob.
You didn't move the transponder so using this key will just immobilise your car. It's too far from the column for the ECU to recognise. Looks nice, shame its useless as it is here.
it wonèt with out alteration to the immobilizer chip off the PCIB and will need to be moved to the top of the key, and soldered connections to the PCIB which sits in the intended area by key fob shell manufacturer
