BLUE LAND CRAB

The Blue Land Crab is a West Indies species that also occurs in South Florida. It is a very large crab that can travel long distances from water. They have burrows near shore areas that the live in. In years past, South Florida had thousands and thousands that migrated inland from the shore areas. Development has shrunk the coastal areas where they occur. You don't see the huge number of crabs like in the past.

Any costal area of South Florida along Mangrove Shorelines. Or the same habitat in the West Indies.
