What type of software do you develop with Java?

Which modern programming languages have you tried recently?
Don't get me wrong, the Java *platform* and *ecosystem* (including Spring) is fantastic and has been putting food on my table for many years, but the *programming language* isn't any sane person's main reason reason to stick with it.
That said, the brilliant people at Oracle such as Brian Goetz deserve tons of respect for their tireless efforts to modernize Java and make it less frustrating.

@@cod3r1337 In addition to Java, I have tried python, but java is the commercial language for me. I like java for its syntax and ecosystem. My first language was C++, after that java didn't seem difficult to me. There is a lot of code written in java, a large community and many libraries for any occasion. I don't think there are good and bad languages. I think there are tasks and tools to solve these tasks. Java copes with the tasks set perfectly.

My favorite one too, and I’ve tried Scala and C#, hopefully it gets even better after 21 release

@@user-to5wx1kx9l Java has been stagnating for a long time, but now new features are being introduced with tripled forces. This is very encouraging.
