This month Casio released a refresh to their DW-5600 lineup. These timepieces feature a new, layered bezel technology which combines two pieces of different colored resin fused together into one attractive bezel. In this video I'm reviewing the DW-5610SUS-5 which not only has an awesome camouflage dial but has an additional cloth strap included at no extra charge. This new strap, with quick release pins, not only looks great on this watch but can also be used on other Casio G-Shocks including their new GA-2100.
All in all, this negative display G-Shock is a killer watch with excellent styling and is worthy of your G-Shock collection. Check out this quick review and see what it's all about.

Was in Japan last year and Casio is going crazy on all levels from last year . I am very impressed. Well done Casio like always
Another cool G-Shock square, love these watches.
I NEVER comment on UA-cam videos, but I wanted to comment on yours to say that this channel is awesome! I've gone back and watched all your videos. Keep up the good work!
Thanks so much! That means a lot. Much appreciated.
I enjoy seeing these G-Squares good one!!
Thanks!
Just purchased mine. Thanks for the review.
You're welcome! 😎
Gotta love the g shock squares
Wish I could find those strap adapters!
Really wanted this watch but can't find them for under 140, can't stomach spending that much when casio sold them for 80. Great looking watch
Like that strap...I need it!
Just bought this . I know I’m late but Never regrets . Thanks for your video. 💨😃
Enjoy!
Hi, can you fit a nato on those adaptors?
@@WatchingCasio ?
@@therodentryresistance95 You probably could, but it might be a tight fit since the pins are pretty close to the adaptor. Looks like 21mm is the width.
@@WatchingCasio thnks mate👍🏼
keep it up man love your channel
Thanks for watching!
Finally u i have this incredible gshock
Nice!
Bought this twice and sold it twice! Love the look and idea but the negative display with no auto EL kills it for me. Great channel, btw!
Thanks for watching! And yeah, I hear you on the EL.
I agree with some of the other commenters about the price... I'm looking at the gray one, and they start at $110. Start at $110 and go up and up and up from there. Cool looking watches, But not $110 worth of cool, given that it's essentially the same thing as a DW-5600 in a larger case.
The gray one (DW-5610SU-8dr) in my place is about 70$, and im thinking about buying one :)
what's wrong with that? New DW-5600s with the 20 year old case with different coloured resin and dial go for the same money and they are totally unoriginal. At least this DW-5610 looks a bit different and a larger dial is better on the wrist and more 'square' and less rectangular.
It took decades, but Casio is finally doing something about their uncomfortable straps.
the strap on gw5000 is actually very comfy and so much better than their usual resin straps.
This watch is also available in Europe. It's called DW-5610SUS-5ER. The thesis has this extra strap and cardboard packaging instead of a metal can.
had these year ago n going to get another extra nylon strap at AD for my gwb5600dc..
Nice review!
Thanks!
Great video!
When I saw the DW 5600 series I thought I'd buy this in a heartbeat but then I looked at the price
Yeah it's not exactly cheap, especially since this model is a limited run, I believe.
@@WatchingCasio it's not too expensive either but I'm a student and as of now I can only afford watches on much cheaper end my limits is about 60 usd so there's that
@@WatchingCasio does the DW-5610SUS-5 also sold outside Japan?
@@AdhityaRamaputra I don't think so. But you can definitely find it on Ebay.
@@AdhityaRamaputra It is widely available in Europe.
I literally just got one these.. Had to go for the one with the extra strap. My G Shock obsession has begun!
Good luck! And hit me up when you get your next G-Shock. Talk to you soon haha.
@@WatchingCasio This 5610 just arrived in the post... Going tto save the unboxing until later...
@@TimFromWales is it possible to fit a nato on those adaptors?
@@therodentryresistance95 Yeah I think so. Its just a canvas (very nice quality though) strap and spring bars.
I don't understand the naming. Shouldn't this be a new colorway DW5600? What makes this a 5610? I thought the 5610 meant it contained a module with more features like Tough Solar and/or Multiband 6 and/or Bluetooth.
Just bought a g-shock dw-9052v at Wallyworld-- and it's similar to these in textile band (which I really like, btw), module features and grey color, if not similar-looking...
Origional price was around $60.00, but I got mine for $15.00
Not bragging, I'm just saying I agree with those who are saying these "5610's" are definitely cool watches, but for $100+, they should [at least] be solar powered. Or else be priced around $50 to $60 usd
Wow, nice deal!
@@WatchingCasio Thanks, I thought so-- In fact, I ended up buying two at that price, & giving one to a friend who'd been 'on the fence' about G-shocks. Now, he's a convert... 😆
I hope they start selling different straps independently.
Same here.
With the easy strap removal technology, it would be possible.
If Casio's smart they will...
A little tough to find; ordered it on e bay. Right.
New G shock direct from Japan.Back of watch says Made in Thailand lol. Ordered mine should get it next week.
Very nice!!!
May have to add one
It costs about $100 more than an entry DW5600 to get an extra band and a nicer design, but a module that does nothing more. Gotta pass on this for now. Good video!
Thanks for checking it out!
Don P i agree 👌
Just note that the keepers on the fabric band only fit on some of the newer g-shock watches and will not work on older G-Shock watches☹️
Gd350-br?
Cool video subbed!
Thanks for the sub!
@@WatchingCasio if you’re into knives.. I have a channel myself 😜 just in case you wanted to check it out
@@Watchandcutgearchannel Sure, why not! Good luck with the channel!
@@WatchingCasio thanks man .. I’m just starting the watch hobby.. I’ll be watching 💪
Any idea where it might be possible to buy that specific band? It would be perfect to replace the one on my 5600 😍
Not that I know of! I would assume they would make a replacement eventually. I'm in the same boat...I want a replacement band that came with my GW-B5600.
Do the other to colors come with the extra watch band? Thank you for the review!
Nope! Just the camo one.
Summary: No solar power
How wide is your wrist ? Thanks.
I remember that my first watch ever was a fake DW5600 most likely made in china and it had written "Water 2000m resist" (yes 2 kilometers) :))
LOL
Yes that's so op at 2000m 😍😍😫🙏💀
Awesome design....but...No Bluetooth, No Multi-band 6, No Tough Solar, price is USD150 & NO NO for me...
Needs to be solar.
I'm not liking those horrible fabric straps, they just look like an afterthought and just look so wrong when fitted.
Plus, they soak up water and look vile after a short period of time.
It's a VERY basic G-SHOCK which shouldn't cost any more than £50, so its definitely overpriced.
It looks cool (especially the grey one) but its just not worth the asking price.
I agree with all the points made. Its really over priced but Casio would come up with an excuse saying that they had to adopt new moulds for the bezel.
I love resin bands.... But the bands on the protrek range and simply unbelievably comfortable....
@@bobmarley6161
I like resin bands too. Many people say they're uncomfortable, but to me they're one of the most comfortable around. I have a couple DW-5600s, and one of them ends up on my wrist first thing every morning and remains there for the next 15-16 hours. I'm not yet sure what my next G-Shock will be, only that there will be one. At least one. Who knows? Maybe a 5610 could be. But it will have to bring something more to the table than just being larger. Like Bluetooth and Solar. Possibly 6-band, but it wouldn't be a deal breaker if it doesn't have pinpoint down to the second accuracy. Nothing in my life is so important that being 15 seconds behind is going to spell ruin for me.
@@sped6954 agreed resin band absolutely fantastic... Don't even no I'm wearing a watch that's how comfortable they are... And yes 5610 absolutely best G shock multiband and solar powered.... I like the 5610 so much I have 3 in different colourways..... Had to order two from Japan but Dam they're stunning watches......
the solar and multi band 6 should be default feature of ALL Gshocks
Would be nice!
The extra strap also comes with the grey and green versions, or just with the beige camo version?
Just the camo version.
How you do it for showing the test display?
It may be slightly different for different models, but basically in Timekeeping mode, press A, C, and D at the same time.
Will these be coming to the US market?
Unlikely, but don't quote me on that.
Bummer, thanks for the reply!
They are already for sale at macys stores got one myself $140+ tax
So its 16mm on the watch and 20 on the strap? Asking as id like to exchange my resin on my 5610 with a NATO one and am not sure if it fits there as well
Not sure of the exact measurements but just search for DW-5610 strap and you'll find a bunch.
Will combi bracelet from gwb5600 fit this model
I don't believe so. Could be wrong, but I think the lugs are off.
Do you know where can I buy that additional strap separately?
I don't think you can, unless you get lucky on Ebay.
hi, how about new japan only ecb-10 series? Got any plan to own/review one?
Not yet, but I've been considering checking out some of the new Edifice watches.
@@WatchingCasio can't wait! thank you
Could I put the cloth strap on my gd350-br?
Sorry, not sure.
Is it just me or Casio model numbers started to get more and more confusing? The 5600 series used to be a cheap basic square g-shocks. The 5610 series were more expensive solar powered, radio controled ones. Now when they updated the modules and added bluetooth it's the other way around? WTF? Why are you doing this Casio?
Ha, who knows. Apparently there are reasons for the lettering. Look up "G-Shock model number reference" on Google for more info.
All the Japanese brands have confusing numerics, at least to me.
The numbers aren't the important bit. The letters are DW never has solar, MB6, bluetooth and such, GW always has solar and MB6, bluetooth in the newer ones.
G is solar W is MB6
Man, would've been perfect if it had solar.
Not solar.... Not for me.
What is the negative for you?
First comment!
Discontinued!!
Boo!
@@WatchingCasio lol I guess it wasn't doing well!
@@NathanChisholm041 Not necessarily. Casio tends to do limited runs on their specialty products.
