That part you said where pirate radio showed you how everything is possible really resonated with me. When I was young I was always interested in pirate radio, in fact I had the same veronica tx and amp, which led me to this video.. But it really pushed me to do things that others wouldn't because they seem impossible or out of reach. It seems it was pirate radio that moulded me into the person I am today. I hadn't really thought about it that way before lol
Oh that’s awesome. I hadn’t been inside this transmitter for probably ten years but I had it sort of come up as a topic on the lockpicking discord and figured it was easier to just do a video showing it and rambling about it. But yeah it definitely impacted me. The video title “1 Watt revolution “ is taken from an early compilation of info primer I had written but I doubt it’s available or out there anymore. This Veronica was originally pieced together for me by a guy in Spokane....if I’m remembering correctly. (We ended up with a few of them.) We went on to do some pretty extensive upgrades to it, including building in a limiter, but then returned it to “stock” later due to technical issues. The very first one we built on a prototype board from pieced together components. It sounded like hell and went maybe 100 yards but as a proof of concept we were 100% hooked.
Interesting hobbies of a different time. I had a CB radio but that was it. I had a mates alarm that I installed always alarming at 3am, even if it was disarmed, turns out it was an illegal ham radio, running high wattage nearby. They radio authority ppl tracked him down, he was fined and they took all his gear. This was late 80's. 🍺😎🇦🇺
