There has been some debate over whether or not the start of WWII could be attributed to the Japanese invasion of China, also. While an official start date isn't concrete, you are sadly correct about too many people thinking it began in '41.
Actually, destroying the tracks to stop an enemy train has been proven to be a bad idea. Sure, the train can’t go any further but neither can yours. I heard this in a WW1 documentary saying that they were ordered not to destroy tracks since they eventually needed them for friendly trains. Other than that, you seem pretty dead on with the sins of CoD: WWII.
Rail's can be easily repaired, flipping a train that has derailed with plenty of supplies is not so easy to recover, the Allies would have found another train to use for transport, but Americans and Brits rarely used any trains in ww2, the Soviets on the other hand is more prevelant. Now in WW1 i would agree since trucks couldnt carry that much in supplies then.
I'm gonna point out a non historical inaccuracy. There were no wolves in Longview where the main character was. That part of Texas has never had wolves.
exactly my point, when you go hunting do u hunt in your own town no. i live in southern Minnesota and i go hunting up north 3 hr away from the Canadian border
Well actually you're wrong on this on chief live in the Longview area and yes we may not have them in this area particularly but about an two hours west or heck even an hour north you'll find them. We do happen to have countless coyotes here and a couple years ago they were finding pretty good sized ones killing pets, but they also found a couple dead black panthers in the area and assumed thats what was killing the animals.
Yes, I'm so tired of seeing an American land on Normandy for the millionth time. It's done already, why couldn't they focus on some of the campaigns that hasn't been made into a game yet? What about a WW2 game set in Finland, Thailand or Egypt?
World War 2 was Germany vs. Soviet Union. Everything else was just a sideshow. BUT they are trying to market this game to Americans. And Americans don't give a shit about Russians, or communists, or foreigners in general. Hell, remember Battlefiled One? That also was mostly marketed as Germany vs. America. The French and Russians (you know, the ones fighting from day one) were a fucking DLC. Apparently Americans don't give a shit about anything unless there's America it it, winning bigly.
"...remind him that he has to act as the antagonist in this game since they couldn't find one in the entire German army". Man, that was cold, hard truth right in the point, you nailed it. It makes me give a like to this video just because of that.
U ever heard of fragging this is based on many people in the same position as pierson and they kill the corporal because of how mean and cruel they where so it's a complete truth for Pierson to act the way he does in fact he should be more of an asswhoke
The problem with making an antagonist in a ww2 game/movie is that it’s WW2 a large stretching war where tons of groups of soldiers fought Waco their everywhere so having one Disney villain in the German army would be nearly impossible because it’s an army not a villain forming a sinister plot so making so it’s internal problems of a group not some moustache twerrling villain makes sense. A good example of this would be saving private Ryan it has no main antagonist but rather the squad of soldiers is pushed to there limits when it comes to there circumstances. But if you still don’t believe me I’ll ask you this create a primary antagonist for cod ww2.
Why are you saying the soldiers wouldn't be worried or scared and doubting themselves in enemy territory after all they could loose their lives any moment
He isn't talking about soldiers, he is talking about 1 soldier who has kill several tens possibly hundreds of enemies and survived bs levels of opposition that would have gotten other soldiers and other platoons killed, has only succeeded in each and every operation he has been a part of, and hasn't hesitated once in what he has been doing so far in the game.
Sin 72 is hilarious in hindsight, because this is COD after all. COD gamers reload their guns like they're OCD about not having all bullets loaded in before they're about to shoot a single person.
"Cant do a blood transfusion in the field" US Army soldier here, and a slight Historian, and yes you absolutely can if you have an IV, and blood bag, you can simply prop your rifle up and hang it by the butt stock. its part of the reason why your ID tags have your blood type, along with it usually being on your uniform somewhere in modern times.
Pretty sure they didn't have all that stuff available to them during D-Day where there was a hailstorm of bullets flying at them from the land location they were trying to land on.
@@lilchristuten7568 i think those medic has bandages, morphine, scissor a blood bag is quite big, so only 1 or 2 can be brought into battlefield (if possible)
@The Flying Cowboy Medal of Honor: Vanguard is a game for the PS2. In some missions, you'll stumble upon a package with a drum magazine for the M1 Thompson.
Incorrect, multiple military weapons were available to the public even back then. Just a few years before you could walk into a hardware store and buy a Thompson Sub Machinegun or a BAR
Panzerjäger44 sorry I’m late but holy shit yes. A one-on-one between these would most likely end with the Sherman losing and catching on fire, but that many fucking tigers? Hell to the no.
@@eijirokirishima8831 I'm pretty sure it would require at least 2 or 3 Shermans to destroy an Tiger II or Tiger 1 if they are further than 300m away from the Tiger
Nugetti Kopteri a sherman with a 76mm gun can punch through a tiger 1 no problem, on the other hand if it goes against a tiger 2 you have little to no chance of taking it head on.
The one historical sin that bugs me more than any of the other historical ones, is that the privates are issued pistols, which is something that they would only get if they found one, and would rarely keep it, because they then would have to find ammunition for it and store said ammunition, which would take up valuable space that instead could be used for rations or ammo for sub-machine guns and rifles, all while being utterly useless in most combat situations, as most firefights happened outside of the range of a pistol. I understand in the multiplayer, but come on at least try to keep the story mode at least a little historical. Sorry for the rant.
It's okay because you lose all your guns so often that it barely matters what guns you start with OR pick up during missions lol. Missions are so short and you lose your weapons so often that you never keep a pistol long even if you wanted to xD I remember the early bridge defence mission hunting around for a sniper after I accidentally dumped it in my panic to pick up a panzerfaust to blow up the Nazi tank, then after I finally found it so I had an fg-42 and a sniper, I went to the next checkpoint and got cutscened into losing ALL my weapons completely anyway 🤦♂️
They may have been due to marketing. They also notably don't show the swastika in the game because symbols associated with the Nazis are banned in Germany. That's probably why they didn't include the SS uniform.
The part where you saved German civilians was actually a nice touch contrary. Even though Nazi soldiers didn't hurt them, near the end of the war many, many civilians were dead and suffering. Research the Berlin airlift and the state that the civilians were in.
@@ltaldoraine4495 firstly it was west berlin secondly the reason why the berlin airlift had to happen was because berlin wasn't looking so hot after ww2
The Germans were NOT kind to their own civilians, especially ones who refused to pick up a gun and fight the "invaders". They were branded traitors and cowards. Everyone was expected to do their bit for the "people's army" to defend the fatherland. Ironic that Hitler ordered every citizen be armed and to defend every building and street with their lives, and that cowards and traitors would be hanged or shot, but he himself took the cowardly route at the end rather than ne caught and fave judgement in front of the world.
Also that's not what the Berlin airlift was. That was later to help west Berliners due to the shit with Russia and the wall and how fucked Berlin was after the war.

As an Irishman I am completely behind this. I don't know what it is about our accents but Americans never get them right. They always go for a high pitched Kerry accent and add dozens of phrases Irish people only say when laughing at foreigners trying to do an American accent.
widiastara 26 no they didn’t the United state military issued a modified version . Also if they used the normal Thompson they still wouldn’t use drums. The drums were far to heavy and a pain to reload. The gun would way a soldier down in fact soldiers created the stinger as a machine gun for one person made out multiple guns.
Not only the story is mid, but there's so many freakin historically inaccuracies in this game, that as a man studying WWII history, this game hurts to watch
I’m going to count 1 sin against you @11:34 you say clip not magazine. Clips where used in most bolt action rifles of the time, but pistols used magazines.
C96 is a pistol which can use either magazine to reload or a stripper clip if the mag is fixed. There's also the Steyr M1912. Despite it's designed very similar to a mag fed pistol, it exclusively uses stripper clips to reload (or if you like, individual rounds).
11:37 about the Nazi tank commander: When he falls because of the bullet you’ll have to shoot him another time, but even if you shoot his head he will always groan in pain after the shot. Also how are we supposed to know the name of the Nazi officer at the concentration camp when the subtitles just proudly call him “Metz”?
There’s also one in Collateral Damage, when shooting at the mg42 nests at the beginning with your bazooka, they just survive, and when you arrive with the tank, they finally collapse from what looks like a bazooka from Daniels or someone else
Totally agreed: Sabotage the singleplayer experience so that they can sell non-linear, loot-box oriented, openish(that transparent boundary!) craps! In the mid 2000s, South Korean game companies eliminated single player titles from their line-up almost entirely to profit from monthly payment + loot boxes + additional game item transactions between users (Yeah, the controversial Diablo 3 auction house isn't any original idea!!) I've ditched Korean games completely 10 yrs ago thanks to their greed. But now, every bigshot AAA companies are following those greedy craps! /facepalm
A lot of triple A gaming companies are still doing good SP games (CD Projekt, Techland, Ubisoft, 2k, etc.). Of course there would be a number of companies who will consider abandoning single player mode but they would also lose a lot of audience doing that since there's more paying adults who still wants to play SP games than kids and that's actually better because eventually more indie companies would rise up to AAA category every year while Activision and EA would only sink to the bottom with their money grabbing 5-year online games. Just like whats Rockstar been doing lately.
@@Etzelsschizo You do know that Europe was mostly freed by the British and Canadians, while the Americans rushed towards Bastogne and the Rhine, right?
Correction: When you mentioned that Zussman could've been taken to Poland across the Rhine, Poland was under Soviet control during that time clearly in the spring of '45
Remember, a shot in a cut scene hurts more than getting shot a bunch of times when you control the character. Getting shot in-game, you can heal, in cut-scene, you get left in pain or possibly die.
Most Casualties were on the American Side. Juno, Sword and Gold were relatively a lot successful with minimal to moderate casualties, The most casualties was, if I can recall clearly, Omaha, which nearly costed the entire landing fleet So, it was _mostly_ prepared by The Canadians and The British. So without a doubt, Yes, Many People DID Die, but its most certain that Soldiers were prepared. We tend to always just look at the American Side because "Amerika Stronk" and "Bomb go boom haha". I don't like to give the U.S. that much credit because as a Canadian, I fucking hate seeing the U.S. practically take all the credit for WWII. You're right it's the side of history that takes the forefront. Even in history class I couldn't tell you much about our side of the war.
The fact that you can be killed whenever in combat but rather you can't anywhere else, this is called Faulty plot armour. It works when it feels like it.
Funny how people complain about customizing the skin and gender of their avatar ruins immersion, but running around in rainbow colored gear and gold-painted guns warrant no criticism. It's there because most multiplayer games have player customization nowadays, and if nobody wanted to play as a black nazi woman, you wouldn't see other players choosing to play as that. Bonus Sin: #100 Nazi Soldiers fighting allied troops on the Western Front using Russian weaponry captured from the Soviet Red Army such as the PPSH 41 Submachinegun and the Tokarev SVT40 when the Russians didn't fight in the Western front on D-Day or in France or Belgium
I'd accept that a very few amount of soldiers would carry Russian submachine guns, captured by soldiers in the eastern front. But having so many SVT's and no G43's is just insulting. I was pretty annoyed with a lot of out of place weapons. Such as auto shotguns.
the PPSh41 can be forgiven as the Nazis captured tons of them and even rechambered them for 9mm, but the SVT doesn't make sense at all because by that time they had the G43, even then a G41 would make more sense
It's more forgiving than regenerating health. Name one point where you were legitimately worried about running out of health packs. At least with regenerating health, you had to wait before you were magically healed.
1. You can do a blood transfusion on the battlefield. 2. Glad to know you went theough basic training in WWII and were at one of the beaches and were totally prepared for the complete massacre that took place all because you took the training.
Another sin, right at the beginning (0:17). The tank with the "long barrel" looks like a Pz IV Ausf. F2. This wasn't introduced until end of 1941, one and a half years after the conquest of France. In June '40, no German tank had a dedicated anti-tank gun bigger than 37mm.
He's not a British Spy. He's a German turncoat. Fischer was an officer in the German army and was "bought at a terrible price" to betray the Nazis in Paris.
He had a British accent when talking to Rousseau alone in the garrison mission insinuating he was british. Either way he used a fake accent for no reason
Bruh even Hartsock from BiA loses half a finger after sustaining gunfire, and this was in a game that was a decade and a half ago, but every cod game gives you more plot armor than Tony Stark's latest Iron Man suit
One problem with the M1928 Thompson visible at 16:53 - the US military never authorized the use of 50-round drums that guys like Al Capone were notorious for using. Also, a better title would've been Call of Duty: Western Front 1944. (Ding)

The whole thing about daniels and paul really didnt make sense... i know the game doesnt tell you pauls dead but maybe when hes on the boat before the invasion on D-day is to give him closure. When hes dreaming in the church, obviously a sign of PTSD from his childhood, and then when hes in the cot talking to the colonel about being court martialed and it transitions to "2 weeks later" that could be a future that he wanted. Many soldiers thought that the war would be done by christmas and after the battle of the bulge many thought it would be done in a few weeks time. So the whole "the game doesnt want you to know about pauls death yet" is semi-true but you have to look at it in a realistic POV.
A WW2 game about resistance fighters would be either the best game telltale ever made, or the biggest, most insulting game in God know how long. Would love to se them try, don't get a lot of media outside books about that's about the occupied areas.
Andrew1990R. Played it and while it is not about being on the frontline it is still very combat focus, and good fun. But telltale could make something truly unique and powerful, where you would have to take hard choices about risking yourself and your family as a civilian for a cause. But pretty sure this will never happen, much better to put time and effort in the story telling masterpiece that is minecraft story mode.
"Medal of Honor: Underground" is about a fictional French resistance fighter named Manon Batiste, whom appears as a minor character giving you missions in "Medal of Honor: Frontline." It is also one of the few FPS shooters (probably the first ever) that the main character is female. Unfortunately, this may not happen again, as most Americans tend to think that we contributed the most to the Allied victory and that France was humiliated by Germany in 1940 and did nothing afterwards but collaborate with the Nazis. This can be attributed to the legacies of Felipe Petan and Pierre Laval tarnishing France's image during the occupation. This is far from the truth. For example, French forces fought very valiantly helping the British Expeditionary Force evacuate at Dunkerque and the resistance around Lyon got so bad that Klaus Barbie initiated a pogrom to eliminate all suspected resistance fighters, earning him the name "the Butcher of Lyon." For many other resistance groups such as the Chetniks, they've pretty much been lost in history, so it's unlikely they will see much action in any future video games.

The thing that pisses me off with that mission with the train is that it's a STEAM locomotive and explodes into a ball of flames whilst there's wagons flying everywhere when the train literally just derailed. A steam locomotive wouldn't expload in FLAMES, it'd be an explosion of boiling water

Goddamit i cannot watch your latest 4 videos yet since I planned on getting these games a long time ago, and I will probably buy them for Christmas (maybe not Battlefront 2)
get the REAL Battlefront 2, it's worth it, plus the game still active because people don't want to buy the fake Battlefront 2. The only different is the graphic, only the look, even then the movement is stiff, and almost every model use the same movement, including heroes. Honestly for a game that came out of 2017, with a budget bigger than some country income... it's sickening how they failed Battlefront 2 in term of quality. Jedi Knight 2 a game from 2002 have better movement than the fake Battlefront 2, go try it out, the Lightsaber duel is just insanely good.
Which really means that was probably fake budget, like no fucking way that was the real budget, they probably said that's the budget because that's how much they'd pay them if it was good. which even if it was they'd pull a its not good enough hold onto it for themselves. and that's if this isn't just a way for illegal money to get washed.

1: it's more a movie then a game. 2: Wolves aren't actually that aggresive in reality and tend to be pretty chill animals. They just get abused and mistreated by pananoied humans that have no gone the "Because it looks cool" route. This is actually harmful for wolves, because people will believe the myth of them being overly hostile. Same with bears, though not in this game. The devs were trying to have the wolf represent fear. It's done in such a immersive breaking lame tropy way though. The reason this myth exists is because it upset farmers being cranky about their livestock being targeted. Humans attack wolf first. Might make for an interesting story worked into the game actually. Have human enemies learn to coexist with the animal representing it. I know Japanese and allies have saved each others lives at times. Honestly, there's so many ways you can spin the animal theme if you do something different with it. Which brings us to the games biggest flaw. It's basically recycled the older COD games. Remember when we had the same snow mission in COD1? Except in COD1 we move around more in the snow missions. WW2 focuses too much on having the player being forced to watch everything. Breaking immersion. Have the impactful moments but don't restrict the player movement. "Boom, bang and people shouting over here" is enough. Let the player turn to see. That's part of why older COD games are great. Of course black Ops 2 is great too, but it wasn't so "Through the players eyes" with its cutscenes. So it didn't prevent the player from being in control. Not letting the player be in control and mobile more is probably the main reason why WW2 isn't as fondly remembered.
The Stiles Cliché is not true because the creators made the characters look like the voice actors in real life and the actor that played as Stiles had glasses.

Missions are so short and you lose your weapons so often that you never keep a pistol long even if you wanted to xD

Better turn to indie games, AAA games that doesn't feel like they were designed by a committee of executives are rare nowadays.
So Overwatch in a nutshell?
Demote this companies by 2 "A"s.
Many soldiers thought that the war would be done by christmas and after the battle of the bulge many thought it would be done in a few weeks time.
For example, French forces fought very valiantly helping the British Expeditionary Force evacuate at Dunkerque and the resistance around Lyon got so bad that Klaus Barbie initiated a pogrom to eliminate all suspected resistance fighters, earning him the name "the Butcher of Lyon."
For many other resistance groups such as the Chetniks, they've pretty much been lost in history, so it's unlikely they will see much action in any future video games.

The Game was more of a Bias propaganda or something, since it was well research but have several inaccuracies, making it an obviously an intended one side american story crap without atleast a DLC campaign from the opposing sides to show the real war in a different point of view and make the players think about the reality, not some brainwashed hateful racists, that makes the game boring a bit simply making an easy, unrealistic story and skip that cough* Operation Market Garden *cough but If activision got something to add in singleplayer, bet would like a german campaign that will take placed Holland with the Similar Story as from the Company of Heroes and a Prologue from the Falaise Pocket!
Donatello doesn’t wear glasses. If you get to nitpick, so can I.
Big Fat Man i think thats why he said. He is like donatello WITH glasses
He does in the movies.
he says "every time Stiles speaks it will be to remind you that he is the smart one in the group, that is why the give him glasses". then he says "character development technique from TMNT". he applies NERDINESS of Donatello to Stilles, he never say Stilles is the exact copy of Donatello. just the character trait. so basically you are stupid and deaf
Big Fat Man gay
Fucking YES.
If he's gonna call out someone, he better be right. Otherwise you look like a dumbass. Considering he tried to do that, failed, and failed hard because their were subtitles, he gets no mercy.
I just realized that sniper elite is more inaccurate than Vanguard
Elite sniper?
yeah, still won't change me go play shitguard.
14:29 “Just die already! Please I’m begging you!”
😂😂😂😂
I feel like the mission where u walk around the garrison an having to ACTUALLY remember what your cover story is probably the most interesting thing ive seen in a game lately.
Yeah i also liked that mission and the fact that in the last part in the garrison if you get found out People can help you (example: you can save that Fisher Dude from a nazi soldier and he will help you, you can save a french lady in the basement and she will also help)
How I begin a FPS campaign: LEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEERRROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOYYYYYYY JEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEENNKIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINSSSS.
Frost Soul How I begin a multiplayer match "Rush B"
Nobody Special B IS RETREATING!! KEEP FIRING!!!
My friend showed me a funny glitch with one of the war maps. I think that's what you're talking about right?
Nobody Special yes. But the one most players are familiar with is: A BOMB HAS BEEN PLANTED ON OUR AMMO SUPPLY!!!
Frost Soul

The mission when you take back Paris piss me off so much on how stupid it is. I prefer playing *WAW*
Ngl but if more cod games don’t have a damn campaign I will never play ever
If I had to guess I think that polizeiführer heinrich switches to english to detect rouseaus french accent.
This guy tries to sound educated, but gets so many things wrong himself. 🤣
Master Shifu he said you can’t do a blood transfusions in the battlefield witch you can and he when turner said none of us could of prepared for that he said you do in basic training and no none them couldn’t have prepared for one of deadliest battles in history
@@foodafen6367 would you like him to speak slower so you can read the subtitles?
Master Shifu we’ll they couldn’t be prepared for how brutal it was and he also said why don’t they take all of them instead of just the Jews because they only took the Jews to the labor camps
Master Shifu that’s what I meant by Jews and i mean they
Knew what to do but they couldn’t have know what it was like they never been into battle before
Master Shifu yeah but It wasn’t like that on d day
Goddamit i cannot watch your latest 4 videos yet since I planned on getting these games a long time ago, and I will probably buy them for Christmas (maybe not Battlefront 2)
get the REAL Battlefront 2, it's worth it, plus the game still active because people don't want to buy the fake Battlefront 2.
I played it and... I should have sticked to Minecraft
dont talk like that.
Just by WW2 wether you watched the video or not. 😒
I found a pretty good feature: I am Italian so I play the game in Italian, in the conversation with enrich he said that he would have continued the conversation in italian
A volte i doppiatori italiani fanno certe "pataccate"...
Ma se il gioco è concepito in inglese, fagli dire che parlano in inglese, dio leghista !
@@marcochesti3750 si dice Dioporco non dio leghista
"You're already committing war crimes, why not commit more?"
Needed that one😂
Pierson is the NCO in charge, not the commanding officer.
1:00 I'm still laughing, and it's been 10 minutes.
what do you mean the betting just started there was cash on the table when the cutscene started
I honestly thought of them as what they actually provide me with. bandages, spots, ammo
Not letting the player be in control and mobile more is probably the main reason why WW2 isn't as fondly remembered.
modern game, pile of garbage, yeah, vanguard was no exception too.
The Stiles Cliché is not true because the creators made the characters look like the voice actors in real life and the actor that played as Stiles had glasses.
8:40 is anyone reminded of klaus from medal of honor his voice sounds close
Dude I just realized that the cutscenes look better than the actual game.
5:50 best line of the whole campaign! 😹😹
It was actually pretty dumb
I loved this part too
what i found wierd is how the steering wheel was on the left side even though it's germany
Paul: *got wolf bite to his arm and later bleed to death*
Daniels: *got an explosion that fling him off but he can still get up*
Wolf = *Deadly*
Shrapnel & Explosion = *Inconvenience*
