- Engine/Exhaust sounds of the Toyota Supra from the movie The Fast and The Furious
The engine and exhaust sounds were achieved trough editing all the different sound channels within the film by muting channels that contained music, speech etc.
Specifications:
The Supra was rented from the technical advisor on the film, Craig Lieberman. Performance mods include a 2JZ 3.1 engine swap, Turbonetics T-66 ball-bearing turbo & Delta II wastegate, RPS stainless steel/HTC-coated custom header, NOS 100-hp NOS system, AEBS turbo downpipe, GReddy Power Extreme Exhaust, Pro-Fec B boost controller, Airinx intake, Clutchmasters stage III racing clutch, an 11-pound billet flywheel. and an Eibach coilover suspension. Appearance mods include M5Tuners 19" Dazzle Racing Hart rims, and custom graphics as well as the D•T Precision Auto Shop logo.

One thing that makes this car sound so special - the RPS Exhaust Manifold. This was the #1 name in the game back in the early 2000s for making that iconic sound. It was eventually discontinued because mechanically there were better options, but not many could match the sound. The best option now is one made by SP Racing called the SP F1 manifold that fixes the problems of the RPS manifold while retaining the sound.

That Eclipse used mixed Turbo B16 n B18 engine sounds from CRX n Integra cuz Eclipse by itself sounded like shit cuz it had stock non turbo 420A engine that only maked 140hp and was overall very lame and incapable of tuning engine...

@@Litassa yea but the gst/gsx eclipse came with a different engine called 4g64t came with 210 hp stock and was so overenginereed like 2jz you could RIP off stock turbo out huge one on get to 500 hp without any forging etc

Gst trim level highly tunable Mitsubishi 4g63t engine with 210 hp that's very capable but still fwd
GSX same as gst but is awd not fwd
People need to learn that only 2 of the eclipse trim levels were garbage exactly why a rs/Gs costed 14-15k brand new and gst/gsx cost 25-28k from showroom that's a big difference and that's because they are 1 different cars entirely speed wise

And the eclipse if it was a GSX and not a rs in movie it realistically would be tuned to be on same level as supra and skyline see rs/gs trim level cost around 15k brand new they had Chrysler 420a 140 hp garbage engine that were not good for building at all straight trash and were fwd
The gst/gsx trims were 25-28k new from showroom that price difference is for a reason both of those had 4g63t Mitsubishi motors engines stock they had 210 hp and they were same engine used in the mitsu evo 3 210 hp was not a lot but the thing is just like the skyline was only 280 hp stock the 4g63t engine was overenginereed so you could go crazy with it easily you could RIP out stock turbo throw a huge turbo on it a gst/gsx and be at 500+ hp and that's now forging internals or anything the engines capable from factory plus a gsx is AWD I know the slow rs/gs eclipses then all the generations after 2 tarnish the name and that's why people don't care for them as much where as supra went out with a bang for their last gen in the 90s I know a nee supras out but it was a long time later same goes for skyline the eclipse turned into a slow pos for 3rd gen aka romans 2f2f car pos the 1st and 2nd gen especially gsx since its the top trim 4g63t engine and AWD I just wish people would actually watch a few videos and do some research on the eclipse gst/gsx before acting like its not as good of a car as supra and skyline a rs/gs sells for 3k max today even with a bunch of money into it now a clean rust free gst goes for around 8k and a gsx 12-15k they would be a lot more money it's just they are to easily obtainable it was designed in Japan though by Mitsubishi just ended up being made in USA due to the import laws and taxes the dsm partnership but technically eclipse is jdm since it was going to be made there just the us car company's complaining about Japan taking all the sales made some company's have to make sacfrices to still do real good in states 1990-1999 eclipse gsx is on same level as any other tuner that all I have to say

I hope to get a Supra or at least drive one. I'm not a fan of the new one since it's a BMW products but it's still nice. But this car has a staple in my heart because of growing up with Paul walker.
I'm not a Supra fan or fanboy, but I like it as how I like other cars. But in my opinion, Paul Walker's Supra is always the best Supra after Smokey Nagata's Supra. no matter if little kids love them or adults.

Stfu the eclipses sound just as good as the supra plus the sound used for eclipse was a Honda crx since the eclipse they got for movie was just a rs non turbo stock that was all visuals
@@reallifecaraddict1660 Well at least the sounds they used for the eclipse is still a 4 cylinder. The Supra is a 6 cylinder. So the sound does not fit at all. That´s just your opinion, and there is no need to be rude.

This FF is a movie where it almost looks like real need for speed. Unlike to the recent version of FF, they add some kind of superhuman strength in the movie and it is more likely to action not racing.
If you haven't seen it yet, I recommend the Need For Speed movie. It's more Fast and The Furious than the actual series has been lately lol

Nothing wrong with dat. You could still use it to record sound on a hollywood movie. The quality of your mics and amps are considerably more important than the recording medium. Hell, a good audio engineer could probably use compact cassette and make it sound good.

You can get just as much power outta the 1jz at the same cost. Most go with the 2j because they don't understand that.
Doesn't the MKIV come standard with the 2jz/2jz-gte though? Or do you mean people who 2j swap stuff?
TL;DR: Both engines are really good and reliable, however there are factors that draw people more towards a 2jz.
Now that I look at it, yeah they're both basically the same, though it seems that there are factors that make the 1jz or 2jz a better choice. For example if you want a drift car the 1j is your engine. Due to the turbo setup on it and the shorter stroke, it likes staying in high revs more than the 2j. The 2j would prob be the better engine for a drag car due to the broader torque band and better response when compared to the 1j. Not to menrion the stock bottom end on the 2j is just *slightly* stronger than the 1j. They're both good engines but, due to the amount of people wanting to have a car with 1000+ hp, they seem to opt for the 2j due to the bottom end, response and the better turbo setup for the job.

the sututututu sound comes when there is no blow off valve. when he lets off the gas during changing gears the throttle body closes and the compressed air has nowhere to go so it bounces around in the inner piping creating this sound. when there is a blow off valve on it the compressed air escapes from the valve and creates like a wush sound.
