    How do you bake your clay? I mean how do you bake it to keep it's form? Because mine flattens when baking. :/

    • @GwendolynMoriarti
      @GwendolynMoriarti  10 років тому

      This is why it's good to bake the front half of your clay head first (I baked mine for 200 degrees Farenheit for 5 minutes), and then sculpt the other half right after and then bake it again for 20 minutes at 235 degrees Ferenheit. That is the temperature I used! My toaster oven might not be as powerful or more powerful than yours, so I suggest you check the temperature of your oven using a thermometer. After you sculpt the back half of the head, just put it in the oven (the back of the hair should be at the top whereas the front of the hair is at the bottom). This is way you can preserve the texture of the hair and not get it flattened.

    Can we make ahomemade polymer clay and any good recipe?

    • @GwendolynMoriarti
      @GwendolynMoriarti  9 років тому

      Lama I No, polymer cannot be homemade. You have to buy it in your local craft store (i.e. Michaels, Hobby Lobby, Joanns, AC Moore for the USA or Hobby Craft for England). You can make cold porcelain though (air-dry clay not oven-bake clay like polymer clay). There are many tutorials for cold porcelain, but, unfortunately, cold porcelain doesn't capture much details.

      +Hazel Chao She answered this before, I've copy-pasted it for you:
      "I use Premo and Fimo. They are my absolute favorite. I hate Sculpey and Craftsmart (I only use them if I'm desperate). Try to check to description box. All of my tools and material are either bought at Hobby Lobby or Michaels."

    I LOVE IT!!!! Do you have an Etsy account? You could make a fortune selling your beautiful charms!!!

    • @GwendolynMoriarti
      @GwendolynMoriarti  10 років тому

      Unfortunately, I do not have an etsy account. It's too tedious. Also, I don't think anyone will buy my works. If I can price the items I've made, it should range around $4-6. It's because I put a lot of effort, time, and materials with my work.

    Your going to fast in my opinion and I'm so confused

    • @GwendolynMoriarti
      @GwendolynMoriarti  10 років тому

      Sorry that you're confused! I had to make it within the ten minute mark. Are you skipping parts of the tutorial? There were no steps left out. Maybe consider pausing? Most of my viewers were able to make this (they've sent me pictures).
      1) Make a big yellow cone
      2) Make smaller yellow cones and cut them in half (long ways not short ways!).
      3) Stick those pieces (from step 2) around the bigger cone (from step 1)
      4) Make indentations on the pieces(from step 2) that are attached to the bigger cone. If you want to see what the indentations look like then watch the video.
      For step 2, I didn't form small cones and cut it in half long ways. I shaped it with my fingers. However, if it's easier for you to do it that way then by all means do it.
      For the rose, watch other youtube videos online. They're very simple to make. Search "polymer clay rose tutorial." I first had a small piece of red circle. I wrapped that circle around ITSELF then I wrapped other red circles around it.
