Usually I'm a hardstuck D4 soloqueuer but this season I managed to get to Masters solo in just over a week. Ranked is busted 100%. I like the direction they went with for ranked, because the endgame circles with 7-8 squads alive is so fun to play in if your team are actually fighting, but the numbers are clearly off if people can get Masters without really doing anything.
Yeah. Same. I’m a solid Diamond player and hit Masters in a week as well all solo Q. Lobbies were all filled with Diamond+ dive trails but the points weren’t hard to come by and losses didn’t have much consequence. I have to say though final couple rings are way more fun this season with how many squads are still around. It can be super chaotic.
I agree ranked has felt too easy but I also am enjoying it more than I ever have. Im a solo q’er casual and past ranked formats felt like they required way too much time investment that I just couldn’t make, especially with the mid-season split. I like the balance going back toward playing ranked on a casual time frame. End games are so fun now but I’m also confused about what rank even means any more as I often have silvers on my team while I’m currently D3. Either way, while no one will respect this season’s masters badge I’m going to feel proud as hell for getting it because these games have been competitive and I feel like I’m making consistently high placements while engaging fully so it doesn’t feel like I’ve just done nothing.
People need to realize it’s not cod if you want to just run in and get kills go play warzone!!! This is a game about playing as a team not taking dumb fights and trying to get position to win the game
ranking up was way faster before, if you were better than a bot you would get to your true rank quickly. If it slowed down significantly, you were at the rank you deserve. Now, it's a grind for everyone, and instead of skill you just need time and you get masters. That is not how ranked should work.
A lot of ppl hated on it, but imo the fact that people focused on placement and we had crazy end game circles made ranked better, I think this season’s setup is better in terms of point system regarding kills and placement, but in terms of gameplay itself it’s less interesting compared to end-zone with 10 squads
Yeah I hit masters yesterday but I still feel like it’s quite an accomplishment because I never ratted my games whatsoever and I made diamond 2 both times last season I feel like I deserve it especially as a solo que crypto main

The higher in rank the less rats it’s more pushing as a team and not running In the middle of that map like a bafoon to try and get as many kills before you die. If you have a rat problem pick up Seer.
I feel like this system is easy for everyone but preds, with so many more people competing to get it over the span of 90 days as opposed to the regular 45ish, theyre probably going to have to play like 5-6 times more than they would just to hold the pred badge. I feel bad for people who go for it lmao
I’m diamond 2 and I’ll rarely get a good teammate in a lobby, it’s either theyre always around plat 3-4 or the masters have paid for their badges and want to camp all game. They usually have about 100dmg at the end, their masters badge will be worthless if they can’t even compete against diamond
But, this is the system working as advertised. You're shown rank one, but your hidden rank knows you're higher level players. The quality of matches is actually closer and the only people mad about it are streamers and content creators that can't smurf with challenge videos. People are actually playing at their own rank instead of ruining matches.
I dunno, I have a tough time getting to gold (didn't help that The servers would crash during legend select once every 3-4 games, and made it seem like I deliberately left the match, which I didn't), And that's mostly because I chose to play the right way, not Rat the entire match each time. In that regard, I noticed I was partnered with and fought against players who had Diamond, Masters, and Pred Badges on their Banners, even since Bronze (I Blasted out of Rookie quickly after the preliminary 10 matches). I mean yeah, It doesn't help that my skills are pretty Mediocre at best. I can handle myself in a fight, But sometimes I still get blindsided and taken out fast if I'm not careful. But I made the journey to gold, and I'm happy for that. I'll just stick to Casual for now. I think I've earned a break.
It's pretty disappointing. In past seasons it felt like a constant grind to the next rank, now it's just a grind for a bigger number next to masters with no shot at ever reaching pred. The hidden mmr makes pretty good matches for me but the displayed ranks are all over the place. Whatever system they use to determine mmr should probably just be the rank system.
The amount of people who are legit solo landing and camp all game (it doesnt work for them all the time especially in my games) is horrible. As a solo player I am having a worse time than I usually have
Happened to me, Valk teammate solo launched and was ratting saying they going to get Masters smh. But me and my boy duo queuing decided to show other teams where he was and got us all killed. No rat LP for that little shit.
@@hi55512 if you see people do that make sure you die with at least 3 kills and pray that the rat makes it to top 5. At first it made me furious that they did that but since I have no control over my team mates, my counter play is to just play safer which blows but what ever I guess
When sweet went to Master's by doing 0 Damage this should have been obvious. I am not even bothering with this. Yes I wanted placement to have more value than the past few seasons, but they botched it totally.
The devs realized people quit playing ranked after reaching a certain rank unless they were preds and wanted to keep the pred rank, which then leads to less overall ranked interest for most players. Whereas if they set the ranked system for players to keep gaining, the vast majority of players will be more willing to keep playing ranked- higher interest. The higher the interest, the more likely for players to spend money on the game.
I hope they fix the bonus points system. Season 16 my rank got reset 3 times, this season I just do not get bonus points. They tried to fix it, but still does not work all the time. 7 kills games with 0 bonus points makes this game just a placement grind. Love the content btw
I feel like the solo grind has been more challenging. Sure you get some idiots who just rat and leave you in a team BR lol but when you get those that push/fight and play like people with an actual brain...its rewarding and fun. Still S17 will just be a participation award at this rate for masters, got it in S15/16 and the hardest part was the RP loss, its not as dramatic this season. I will say, at the end, 369 LP for 7th place and 2 KP is WILD lol
I don’t have a ton of time to play apex recently, but I got pred yesterday. Checked the pred cap for Xbox to see if it was even worth going for and it’s at 60k ranked is so pointless past masters
I usually reach Gold 2 or 1 as a solo, I had Plat 4 once and now I'm Plat 4 again and there are still 69 days left of the season. I will reach Masters too.
Apparently the only person in the world struggling. Literally Hard-stuck Plat 2. Sure I could easily rat but I refuse to play like that. So I have to depend on teammates to coordinate who cannot win a single 1v1 and immediately pot shot full squads from 400m away for reasons.. It’s just fucking impossible to keep my teammates alive into top 5. And since I refuse to run away and hard rat once they go down it’s just impossible. I’m in plat and I have teammates where we’re all fighting and poking and generally scrapping against teams for like 5 straight minutes in a stalemate and then we die and somehow they did like 80 damage. Teammates where we’re being pushed and instead of defending they leave to go craft a stock. Teammates who path grapple onto a roof full of enemies and then rage when me as a Wattson and the other random Bang couldn’t get to him in time to help.
I don’t care about the point system (even though kills should be more and placement a little less) but the hidden mmr is the dumbest thing they didn’t think through. I’m stuck at a lower rank then when I started playing apex ranked back in season 3 because they decided to put me in high diamonds, masters and some pred lobbies in stead of letting me rank up to at least plat first
Take it as a compliment. The game sees you as better than your rank. It wants you to be competitive instead of griefing/ruining lower lobbies. I think that's the best part of MMR. Smurfs can't really Smurf anymore (not saying you are, but it's a nice bonus).

Doing exactly the same with my friends we came double spit diamond the last seasons and thought now would be the time to hit masters. I think ranked should test a players skills more than just ratting out somewhere but hopefully they’ll fix that.
All I have to say about the new ranked system, is that a new master badge bout to be fire on m banner Edit: I’ve been grinding and I’m halfway plat 1, while it is more fun the way that 7 squads be in the final zone is crazy
As a previous master, I’m dropping multiple 20 bombs and 4ks in ranked this season, ranked is INDEED busted, this should NEVER happen. The amount of lower skilled players in high rank is absurd.
I’m usually hardstuck plat 2 or 1 but this season hit masters in about two weeks without camping their needs to be a balance of kills and placement plus some way to actually making it a challenge to feel earned
I dunno how you find these matches in ranked, its the complete opposite on PS5 where everyone I queue with is hiding and can't fight, so we sit around until last circle and then die immediately and restart the process. I find regular matches way more fun because people aren't pressured to hide and actually play the game lol

I disagree, if you do this for a living with nothing but time to burn it sure is. If you're like me with a full time job that isn't playing video games with a wife and kid, there's so much time required this season. It's literally the longest time sink I have ever experienced. It's a free masters if you have the time.
I will maybe, just maybe play to diamond again. Because I honestly don't want a rank I don't deserve and I have no intention of wasting my life in the boring nothingness that is ranked right now
The new ranked system is absolutely horrible i get that people want late game to be more fun but it makes mid game boring and early game i never find anyone and when i do they dont even fight they just run i get 18 kills per game bc nobody fights back they focus on running then in endgame its just boring bc its just random fighting it feels weird i love the old kill based system where if u weren't good you'd lose and if u were good ur pred but this new system just rewards a horrible playstyle imo they shouldn't have even changed it but they should balence kp and placement bc its way too much on placement entry costs wont change anything bc placement will just balence it all out and if u 7 kills but some team with 0 kills but place higher get rewarded bc they choose running over smart fights
Rank is busted. Hit daimond today myself. Normal high plat/low daimond is my norm. Did fight and get kills and die alot but seems screw kills and get position. I even get randoms that jump alone and just hide for position. Daimond this quick seemed too easy. Seems broken af
I lost all will to play this game for 3 seasons sorta like fortnite where I didn’t play the game when people were learning how to build super good it’s the same with apex where I didn’t play when people started getting super good at movement but maybe I just suck 💀 but paring up with preds with 100k kills for a first game on in months is wild
I honestly like the new ranked. Fun end games. They need to work on the actual ranking though. I'm usually hard stuck D4, but I know I'll get to masters no prob this season. I'll take the dive trail, but I know it doesn't mean anything.
Its actually nice when people play the game to win instead of just bumrushing for kills, but then the rat epidemic is being a massive pain in the ass for a solo player like me.
I picked up Seer for this rat problem. I hit masters thanks to Seer making those rats scatter in the middle of the map so everyone can poke them to death 😂😂😂
they took the battle out of BATTLE ROYALE, which btw means now you don't need to fight unless you want slightly better loot. Just to survive to top 10.. kills don't give points anymore which is so dumb
The maps for this season are awesome but whyyyy do the devs put so much emphasis on placement? Kills/dmg mean nothing lol. This ratting Seer/Valk meta needs to go away :( Always enjoy your content though!!

Yes how is no one else talking about this there out here getting 150 kp for 3 kills and I'm getting nothing now. Even before the update I only got about 25 kp for 4 kills in 2nd. So I've had to get to diamond with only getting lp no kp
How this guy just got 59 bonus with hardley any kills and 7th place. Ive gotten nothing unless i win a game. 5 kills 5 assists, 10 kills 10 assists, doesnt matter unless i get first. I get absolutley nothing for hitting 7th like the hell. Respawn needs to fix their shit now cause ive had to get diamond relying on only lp and its taken me twice as long.
No the first thing they need to do is fix the kp system. Not sure how no one else is talking about this. Haven't gotten any kp unless I win a game since day one. If I don't win and have 8 kills and 6 assists I don't get anything but lp. So I've made it to diamond soley on lp no kp.
i think this is just a lot of excuses for every skill level truthfully. the people getting negatively impacted by these changes, are the 3 stack teams that get masters easily every season. for solo que players this season gives us a chance to climb consistantly without having to drop 20 bombs as a team everygame. or getting top 5 with a couple KP and still gaining 0 points in diamond lobbies, against all preds. the system was so beyond broken before but now you all want to give excuses about how easy it is. yet half the people saying its easy are like i said either 3 stacks or bronze stuck players xD
I have played since launch i got to play 1 the season before they changed everything with ranked last time and it took me until 2 days before the split. Now im plat 1 its easier to climb ranks but it is boring to play ranked no one wants to fight anymore. At least before i felt like i earned plat 1 not so much this season

Definitely needs to increase the entry fee. 125 for preds, 100 for masters, 75 for diamond players and 55 for plats.

I had diamond and masters in my bronze starter lobbies. Like a rookie, bronze and pred going in together somehow
You guys can do it maters is pretty easy to get to. The only hard thing is in the harder ranks there will be 15 squads in the 3rd round.

As a previous master, I’m dropping multiple 20 bombs and 4ks in ranked this season, ranked is INDEED busted, this should NEVER happen. The amount of lower skilled players in high rank is absurd.
I’m taking advantage of this season to TRY and hit diamond solo q’ing. Being in the summer, I’m hoping I can get there. Just for the dive trail… aha.

I’m usually hardstuck plat 2 or 1 but this season hit masters in about two weeks without camping their needs to be a balance of kills and placement plus some way to actually making it a challenge to feel earned

I dunno how you find these matches in ranked, its the complete opposite on PS5 where everyone I queue with is hiding and can't fight, so we sit around until last circle and then die immediately and restart the process. I find regular matches way more fun because people aren't pressured to hide and actually play the game lol
But they leave as soon as they get down.

I disagree, if you do this for a living with nothing but time to burn it sure is. If you're like me with a full time job that isn't playing video games with a wife and kid, there's so much time required this season. It's literally the longest time sink I have ever experienced. It's a free masters if you have the time.
I recently came back to apex and I realized there were gold plats and diamonds in the same game as me and I was silver worst part is there were trash
I will maybe, just maybe play to diamond again. Because I honestly don't want a rank I don't deserve and I have no intention of wasting my life in the boring nothingness that is ranked right now

The new ranked system is absolutely horrible i get that people want late game to be more fun but it makes mid game boring and early game i never find anyone and when i do they dont even fight they just run i get 18 kills per game bc nobody fights back they focus on running then in endgame its just boring bc its just random fighting it feels weird i love the old kill based system where if u weren't good you'd lose and if u were good ur pred but this new system just rewards a horrible playstyle imo they shouldn't have even changed it but they should balence kp and placement bc its way too much on placement entry costs wont change anything bc placement will just balence it all out and if u 7 kills but some team with 0 kills but place higher get rewarded bc they choose running over smart fights

Rank is busted. Hit daimond today myself. Normal high plat/low daimond is my norm. Did fight and get kills and die alot but seems screw kills and get position. I even get randoms that jump alone and just hide for position. Daimond this quick seemed too easy. Seems broken af
Yeah I am a pro rat in storm. I out heal up to round 3. I average around 100-175 lp per game and I am at d4 in 2 days lol

I lost all will to play this game for 3 seasons sorta like fortnite where I didn’t play the game when people were learning how to build super good it’s the same with apex where I didn’t play when people started getting super good at movement but maybe I just suck 💀 but paring up with preds with 100k kills for a first game on in months is wild

Its actually nice when people play the game to win instead of just bumrushing for kills, but then the rat epidemic is being a massive pain in the ass for a solo player like me.
I picked up Seer for this rat problem. I hit masters thanks to Seer making those rats scatter in the middle of the map so everyone can poke them to death 😂😂😂
they took the battle out of BATTLE ROYALE, which btw means now you don't need to fight unless you want slightly better loot. Just to survive to top 10.. kills don't give points anymore which is so dumb
The maps for this season are awesome but whyyyy do the devs put so much emphasis on placement? Kills/dmg mean nothing lol. This ratting Seer/Valk meta needs to go away :( Always enjoy your content though!!

aint no way ppl say they liked ranked this season 😭😭 having to worry about how many squads are alive and and not getting LP for kills is wack asf. Not fun with 8 squads left in a final circle in a bronze lobby

this ranked season sucks, I had 9 kills in 4th place and I only got +213 for it. in the old system i would of gotten like +400 - +500
Yes how is no one else talking about this there out here getting 150 kp for 3 kills and I'm getting nothing now. Even before the update I only got about 25 kp for 4 kills in 2nd. So I've had to get to diamond with only getting lp no kp

How this guy just got 59 bonus with hardley any kills and 7th place. Ive gotten nothing unless i win a game. 5 kills 5 assists, 10 kills 10 assists, doesnt matter unless i get first. I get absolutley nothing for hitting 7th like the hell. Respawn needs to fix their shit now cause ive had to get diamond relying on only lp and its taken me twice as long.
I think with a few changes ranked would be great like this just need to up cost lp for ranks as 35 in diamond/masters abit low
No the first thing they need to do is fix the kp system. Not sure how no one else is talking about this. Haven't gotten any kp unless I win a game since day one. If I don't win and have 8 kills and 6 assists I don't get anything but lp. So I've made it to diamond soley on lp no kp.

i think this is just a lot of excuses for every skill level truthfully. the people getting negatively impacted by these changes, are the 3 stack teams that get masters easily every season. for solo que players this season gives us a chance to climb consistantly without having to drop 20 bombs as a team everygame. or getting top 5 with a couple KP and still gaining 0 points in diamond lobbies, against all preds. the system was so beyond broken before but now you all want to give excuses about how easy it is. yet half the people saying its easy are like i said either 3 stacks or bronze stuck players xD
I have played since launch i got to play 1 the season before they changed everything with ranked last time and it took me until 2 days before the split. Now im plat 1 its easier to climb ranks but it is boring to play ranked no one wants to fight anymore. At least before i felt like i earned plat 1 not so much this season
I think people forget the way to get down to 10 squads is to fight lol
