Personally I think Jigsaw is about his parents which makes how intense it is much more understandable. It makes so much sense when you reframe it like that, especially the part about "I'll be more like my sister/say thank you ma'am and mister to you" and just the whole theme of trying so hard to make someone love you but it never being enough Also LOVED your take on Family Line and how some people have children without dealing with their own shit and then pass it on to them, it's so true and generational trauma is the bane of my existence

Idk if I'm the only one who thinks this, but summer child seems to be about conan as a kid. Considering that the last two songs of the album were about his family and his childhood, this would make a lot of sense, especially after the line "your father was awfully mean" a thing that was already established about conans dad in family line and in many other songs and videos that he made. So, if you see it this way, summer child is not generic at all, it's conan remembering the little boy he used to be, a kid with so many big feelings that he didn't know how to express, a kid that pretended to be fine when he wasn't, that pretended to like things he didn't and be someone he wasn't. It's like a love letter to the kid he used to be, a warm embrace for a kid that really needed it, the present conan is like, telling his child self that it's ok to let it all out yk, being the person he needed at that time, and that, in my opinion, is a very special thing to do. Maybe I am wrong, but it makes a lot of sense in my head lol

Also if you think about Conan in his youtuber days, I feel like he was always colorful and positive and bubbly when we know he has a darker side and darker past so it just makes sense

Love with a lot of Conan's songs they start off slow and ripped back, then builds up to this phenomenal point with his vocals being really strong to relax again. It takes you on a journey, and I absolutely love it

Superache is a masterpiece it’s beautiful powerful painful and emotional so incredibly proud of Conan I was not ready when I listened to Superache for the first time Family line and the exit really caught me off guard I was sobbing so much

I liked Kid Krow but I would take Superache over it any day. It's so honest and personal, the artwork is so stunning, the name is meaningful, his songwriting here is top tier and the production complements it so well, and I think with this type of songs he was able to shine through with his vocals way more than in his debut. I also think it has more of a cinematic feel to it, everything is perfect and wrapped in a bow, like the lyrical content of Summer Child is also complemented by the duality of the darker vocals and lighter instrumentation. I also really like how he organizes his tracklists and links some songs within the album with his lyrics, and even with the instrumentals, some of Astronomy's, and even a little bit of Heather's, are echoed in Footnote.

Movies - I feel like I’ve heard this sentiment in SO MANY songs from many different artists that the realization about how “life isn’t like the movies” is… obvious/overdone? Also, the lyrics immediately made me think of Katy Perry’s “Not Like The Movies” (and guess what that’s about…). 2. People Watching - Lyrically this song is me in real life, so connection was there. Also felt like the production gave this interesting “anxious” build in the latter half that really drove the song’s feeling home for me. Love it! 3. Disaster - Started off so strongly with the beats and verses, but the chorus and progression kind of let me down a bit. It’s a nice bop that I wouldn’t skip, just not a fave. 4. Best Friend - I’m still so torn about this song, even after multiple listens. I love the sass in Conan’s delivery, but I feel like the lyrics are a bit too juvenile for my liking. Generally enjoy overall. 5. Astronomy - This is a solid song, and I appreciate the lyrical content and Conan’s steady delivery. HOWEVER, the fact that Yours was the next song did it no favors at all (please see #6). 6. Yours - Lyrically, I feel like Astronomy is “part 1”, and this song is “part 2”. And I DEFINITELY prefer part 2. This song felt like a follow-up/response to Astronomy, and it hit a much more emotional and mature chord (literally and metaphorically hehe). A major fave on the album! 7. Jigsaw - It’s a damn shame where they placed this song, and between Yours and Family Line OF ALL PLACES! It felt like an awkward disjoint having this stuck between those songs, which I had a more raw emotional connection given the lyrical content and production. I think this would have been more effective somewhere in the last 4 or so songs of the album. 8. Family Line - Well, I guess I was overdue for an emotional gut punch. The imagery of the lyrical content, the somber production, the emotional is so real and honest. Peak Conan, my personal #1 on the album

Summer Child is talking about you as a child pretending everything's okay, who's actually hurt and going through something maybe in the family (conan's childhood i guess). Hear the lines, you're lying, summer child - you say you're okay you say you like green and everything's pretty around you, but Conan looks back saying you're lying, summer child (to himself). And if you grew up taking the caretaker role, it seems like the lines, busy taking care of others that you can't take care of yourself would relate to you.
